  1. Amelia gives the best vocal of the night and she's booted off, welcome to the X factor! Hope Little Mix win.
  2. The XF single is actually DECREASING, WOW. I still expect a little boost after the show is finished. Just heard they've been selling it in M&S, that'll be why the physical sales have been so strong!
  3. I fully expect Little Mix to win. Amelia will leave tonight IMO.
  4. Right let's keep an eye on the XF single, they could do with a bump to beat Olly.
  5. Exactly, these lot are naive but as a Joe fan you know the score. I've seen so much homophobia directed at Joe it's unreal. If Olly came out it would affect his sales, no question about it. As a popstar you're selling an image along with your music.

Nicole has to be the worst judge of all time, talk about a weak air head with nothing to say! And how many times has she saved her favourite Marcus now? Bin Paula and LA Reid as well. And Steve Jones. In fact sack it all off and get Simon back on the English X Factor, even with the ratings drop more people are watching our version anyway!
  7. As if Marcus would be the most marketable male winner, he's gay FFS! Shane Ward was the most marketable male winner and Syco made a mess of his career.
  8. So we have guesses of between 60-80%, thanks. I take it no one knows for sure what percentage share Itunes has of the download market then, oh well.

It's been hard to juggle his commitments though, that's what he means. He did Xtra Factor with no notice while doing the JLS arena tour and he's had to promote two singles and his album while prepping for live shows. And he's had to learn how to present as he goes along. He's had a dream year in terms of a number 1 album, and (probably) two number 1 singles. The Xtra factor job has done wonders for his profile but he's had to put the work in to get that. His hard work since leaving X Factor has got him where he is today. He's performed in most places in the Uk and done interviews with just about everybody. Obviously you haven't heard of a band called The Wanted! You know the one whose management control half the radio stations in the country? He goes all around the country with his radio pluggers to get that radio support, sometimes he doesn't get it like initially with Heart and Radio 1 wouldn't play him til he went number 1 with PDLMG. He releases singles that are radio friendly, that definately helps. And you know, X Factor is a great help to all former contestants but it's not automatic success as we see time and time again.
  10. Itunes sales obviously play the biggest part but does anyone know how much of a part Amazon download sales play in overall singles sales? Trying to understand what sort of percentage share Itunes has of downloads as well.
  11. Yeah like this, hope it's the first number 1 of 2012.

Neither would I. Those physical sales have been propping them up BIG TIME, holding off Olly despite him massacring them in terms of Itunes popularity. That's important because they'll obviously have their biggest physical sales day tommorrow with most people being off. I do think Olly will probably win it with the lead he will have increased yesterday. The live show won't affect much, Olly is actually on that. Those physicals will decide it, it definately isn't over.
  13. It shouldn't be to hard for Perri and Jade to outsing Tulisa, should put Litle Mix in a good light. In fact I can see all of the acts outsinging their mentors! Leona performing Hurt? Oh the horror, she's been terribly handled ever since her first album.
  14. Yeah it's a good album, very well produced, no denying it. Still shocked at how well it's doing though, I can only attribute her sales to the glowing reviews The Guardian etc have given the album. I don't think her 2nd weeks sales will stand up though.
  15. I think Shane has the personality for it more than Mark but Mark has more potential to sell based on an extraordinary performance. Anyway I can't see either bothering, they've got enough money and have had enough adulation. They sing all Westlife's songs between them so they've had the limelight, and they don't seem to have the kind of egos that need a solo career to satisfy them.

That's much better for Olly than I expected, if that's true I can see him getting number 1 now. His sales yesterday beat XF by almost 1800, 600 the day before, 200 the day before that. At this rate it won't even be that tight when Saturday's physicals come into play. I agree, they could catch todays lead but tommorrows lead? I doubt it. Olly could be as much as 3000 ahead. The XF single has to recoveer to start selling at the same level as Olly before it can start to make the lead back, the physicals could do that but it's a big ask to do more. Plus Olly is on the main show chatting to the crowd with Caroline I think? Good exposure that could push him over the top if needed. All that said, it's definately not over but it's looking good for Olly.

Murs is on so I'm happy, he'll be doing Heart skips a beat with Rizzle kicks by the looks of the somewhat congested lineup. The Vaccines... I'm at a loss to see why they're on, so overated. And I see Pixie Lot is still surviving on the fact that no one knows she doesn't sell records.

Season 1 was crap, I only stuck with it because I read something saying it got alot better. Ron Swanson and Tom are my favourites. Gotta love Tom's gormless happy faces. The last two episodes were brilliant. Cats that look like Ron Swanson is a legendary idea, anyone seen them? Some crackers.

One thing leads to another and before you know it those night time DJs have crawled their way up the ladder onto earlier shows, people like Dev (?) etc. Besides, any talk is too much from these people. I used to listen to Chris Moyles when he was on at 3pm and Zane Lowe for the first year or two of his show, they were good for a while. But how can you defend a station that has Vernon kay and Sara Cox (hopefully she's been fired by now) as DJs? Sara Cox must be the most annoying DJ of all time. And then Jo Whiley and Jo Whiley lite; Fearne Cotton. It really is one travesty of an appointment after another... JK & Joel FFS. Is there something special about the night time slots where they suddenly make good appointments? The obsession with trying to be cool is what irks me most. I mean Les Dennis is basically on radio 1 when you think about it so they're not doing a very good job at that. yeah obviously but I'd rather play my own music (or even another radio station).
  20. Syco are useless with male solo artists so I reckon even if Marcus does win he'll be palmed off in a joint deal like Matt was so it won't matter. Little Mix would be better off with Epic who'd probably welcome them with open arms as they don't have a girl band. That said, I doubt Cowell will let them go, he's been trying to get a girlband off the ground since he passed on The Spice Girls and he's done alright with 1D. Amelia Lily will be signed to Syco as Cowell knows what to do with a kelly Clarkson type. So as winning would probably not change a thing about their prospective record companies that just leaves the reason of novelty value of a girl group winning. So Little Mix are the one I think should win I suppose. I don't really care though cos it doesn't matter. You're right and that's what makes it so hard to care who wins, 3 pretty good acts who will all get signed. Gary said that all 3 will be signed so this year they're not even pretending that it matters who wins, like Simon used to do.

Brilliant news! So Olly closed 200 copies on Tuesday, and over 600 on Wednesday. If he follows that pattern he's looking at 800-1000 today. He should overtake tommorrow and take a lead into Saturday when XF will come back with physicals and final show promotion. I don't actually mind if Lloyd snatches it as his song is quality but XF will probably be caught, that's the main thing. And in a poor sales week as well, poor showing from them. One thing's for sure, it'll be the closest battle of the year!! This is news to me. All I read was that Jessie J was 6k behind the X factor single. But yeah Olly has lead Lloyd in popularity on Itunes for most of the week and the charts/music week haven't mentioned him as a contender, focusing on the top two battle. Still, we could do with knowing where he's at.

Yeah Will Young would annoy me tbh, he's got a good voice and is a talent show success story but he's a bit nice and dull. Danny is a bit of a wildcard, an un usual but shrewd choice IMO.
  23. Vocally they are, Shane and Mark have incredible voices. They're getting on a bit to be starting solo careers now though and I can't see where they fit in the current market. Are they even gonna have a crack at it? Nicky wants to be a presenter, says it all about his 'talent' really. That kid stole a living. At least Kian can sing a bit.

He's not a star but Danny gives the illusion of the show being credible plus he brings a different musical perspective. He's been in a boyband a while back and The Script are very mainstream so this isn't exactly a massive leap for him. Tom is the wise older head you need on a panel like this and tbh his track record speaks for itself, he has a great voice, he knew Elvis and he's sold alot of records. Will.I.Am ups the current star power, tbh he knows music even if he doesn't know how to sing. Jessie J has a good voice and is the most popular current homegrown talent we have atm excluding Adele. It's the BBC who give us strictly Come Dancing FFS, it coulda been a hell of a lot worse! X factor will have to react to this, their panel just doesn't stand up to it.

Danny from The Script and Tom Jones complete the the line up. Quite an eclectic panel, I reckon they're a good mix tbf!
