MADONNA • Queen of Pop • RESULTS
Quality thread. Even though I'm not a gay ( ;)) I do still like some Madonna songs. My top 10 is something like this... 1. Like a prayer = Top quality song, worthy winner. 2. Cherish = Powder puff pop yes but a different sound to it that I really like. 3. Frozen = Epic song 4. Promise to try = Beautiful sad song, alot of depth to it. Only discovered it through reading this thread actually! 5. Celebration = I had this on my running playlist for ages 6. Open your heart to me = Well constructed song, the pre chorus really sets up the chorus well. 7. Vogue = Monster pop song 8. La Isla Bonita = I like the latin feel of this one 9. Express Yourself = There's a reason Gaga ripped this off. 10. 4 minutes = gets me head bopping

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
3rd number album of his career, great stuff. Woulda been 4 if Take That hadn't reformed, their album at the time was an all conquering juggernaut.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
Yeah that's a tune Regina! I'd have it as the 3rd single even though it's a bonus track.

Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato - Up
Yeah 21st is confirmed & I agree that it'll help to shift the album! They shot the official video & an acoustic video when Demi was over here last week. You never know Ryan, Demi is well in with Simon.

Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato - Up
I think this'll be the lead single for his album in the states, should be anyway.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
I made a big deal about the bonus songs not being on the album but the deluxe version is the one selling at number one (if you disregard NOW) on Itunes so it's not really that big an issue. Reviewers probably review the normal version though which is a shame.

Olly heading for another number 1 album! :funky:

OCC: Olly Murs Top 10 Best Selling Songs
Up with Demi will end up ahead of Wrapped up IMO, should do well.

Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato - Up
Demi was asked to be on it so her past songs are irrelevant tbf. Also she said this a departure for her. This song is clearly meant to expose both artists more to each others countries. Olly obviously has more to gain with the US being a bigger market & Dmi being quite known here although not a major star. He should lead with this song when he releases his new album over there.

maybe a delayed reaction to the GN promo? Or maybe it;s just about time he had a spell at number 2 after Clean Bandit was so close to him all week.

Olly Murs feat. Demi Lovato - Up
This song is a radio slayer.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
I could not disagree more. Two of the best songs are the bonus ones.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
Ok then my analysis of Never Been Better: Did you miss me? Such a blatant rip of recent popular songs, with the trumpet riff he does this too much, just points at songs in the charts & says "I want that that one". Glad it wasn't the first single as he should be aiming for originality. Wrapped up Bored of it Beautiful to me : Love this song. Up Radio friendly unit shifter. Great song. Olly has been saying for a while that he'd like a duet song & he's nailed it with this one. Seasons lol he sounds like he's from Jamaica in this, I like it though. Nothing without you: filler Never been better Really good this one. Hope you got what you came for filler Why do I love you? pretty good dance song Stick with me Olly is obviously a big fan of 'Wake me up', decent song, sounds a bit Eurvisiony somehow, don't like it when he tries copying others though. Can't say no The music is good but I don't like this much, doesn't really fit with him, I'd be surprised if he had much input into the writing of this one. Tomorrow Good song. Let me in 2nd ballad in a row, I really like this one. I was gonna say Tomorrow was his best ballad to date but I'd actually say this is. You can tell that Paul Weller wrote this one. bonus tracks... We still love Absolute tune. Monster chorus. Shoulda been the first single. Bizarre that it's just a bonus track. Us against the world well crafted song, had me bopping my head. Ready for love Another big pop song. Again, why is this just a bonus song? History like this one Clearly the bonus songs that didn't make it were ones he was hardly involved in writing otherwise they'd have been shoe ins for the album proper. Hope you got what you came for & Nothing without you should have been replaced by We still love & Ready for love. He relegated some good songs to the bench on his last album as well, pretty annoying. Really good album if you get the deluxe version which is definitely the one I'll be going for.

Olly Murs - Never Been Better
Up sounded like a radio slayer on youtube & that was even with the high pitched voices to avoid copyright.

& that's what you call a hit? Are you a member of Nicole Scherzinger's PR team? ;)

Olly Murs feat. Travie McCoy - Wrapped Up
A possible number 2 on the cards considering he has Graham Norton on Friday & some other stuff. Weirdly though Surprise Surprise is next week.

lol I doubt that, I expect his album to sell really well. Let's not get carried away, number 3 (very close to number 2) is pretty good in a Band Aid week for a generic song. What do people mean when they say that? His airplay has been strong, he's done all the usual shows he does, plus he's got an ITV special coming up. I think the two year gap between albums was a poor move. The album every year cycle he had going was working well. Yeah we haven't heard what he has on his new album yet, there's supposed to be quite a few potential hits on it. Wrapped Up wasn't even gonna be the lead single, the 2nd single was, so that bodes well. Plus there's his Demi Lovato song which will IMO be the 3rd single.
