  1. I know right? Too good to keep off the album. Yeah Aphrodite, ICYDK should do the mil eventually.
  2. So... In Case You Didn't Know is surely well over 900k Olly Murs was 760,598 on December 2nd Right Place, Right Time 570,412 Dance With Me Tonight 674,016 Heart Skips A Beat 629,173 Troublemaker 441,138 Impressive!
  3. He was 50k behind his previous album but as you say Christmas eve will have been a good sales day to enable him to catch up.
  4. I think Olly will be the next number 1, can't see Sande keeping her sales up without promotion. 1D will have a strong week too with teenagers being flush.
  5. Really like her new song, surprised!
  6. Well I hadn't heard of any of them for once which is a refreshing change.
  7. Good news.
  8. X Factor makes some people think versatility is important with its pointless theme weeks but it's really not. Ella should just do her and see what happens instead of being pushed into generic pop. She has her own songs and style of singing which is most of the battle really, so she has a good chance of making it in the real world despite her tender years. She won't even need a big hit if Rebecca Ferguson's success is anything to go by or display personality if her or Emeli Sande don't need to. She draws comparisons with Adele but that is surely a massive compliment (she is actually a fan as well). It'll be interesting to compare her album with James Arthur's. She's a talent and I'm not writing her off til I see what she comes up with, it'll be the best album from a 16 year old I've heard anyway as she's quite level headed and mature. We will see...

Are you serious? :o She may well have no charisma and in fact her stage manner is pretty annoying but she is mega talented. She is first and foremost a songwriter, not some drone like Leona or Alexandra who relies on other people's songs, so her longevity is assured. As long as she keeps churning out those hits for herself she'll be fine. Side note... Alicia Key's new single is written by Emeli.
  10. I think he'll actually be closer to 500k than 400k at the end of the week.
  11. Ugh the double fashion faux pas of waistcoat and polo neck but this time together, wish he'd stop wearing those two things. Hey at least this video is gonna be better than the last one, can't be much worse.

Agreed. I started compiling worst song of the year lists on the back of that The club is alive horror! Then there was the song that sampled the song off Gremlins, Can you hear what I hear, just terrible stuff. But JLS are signed to Epic which is the same label as Olly who has been handled really well. They've also done a good job of getting Paloma Faith on everything and her sales have been respectable. It does come down to who they are managed by as well as a number of other factors but it's not their label.

TV promotion is so important these days, quality album tbf to Emeli though, pity Olly probably won't climb back to number 1 and could even drop to 3 with this traditionally being Buble's biggest week.
  14. He's kind of right though, he's sold more than alot of other artists yet gets labelled a flop. Anyone else is his best song yet, exactly the kind of song I expected from his pre X Factor stuff. Like the video as well. This album hasn't sold very well though. As for his debut, I think Run for your life has to one of the worst ideas for an opening single of all time as every other song on the album is better. Starlight would have done the trick.

Wow tight race! Nice. So are we thinking Bruno's sales will drop off and it's between Olly and Buble for Christmas number 1 album then? I reckon Bruno will put up a fight personally.
  16. Yeah he has wide appeal which will obviously pick up the casual listener and ICYDK is one of the bigger selling albums this year anyway disproving the opinion that he only sells in November and December.
  17. I'm shocked at the reaction to this song as it's definitely one of the better songs they've produced. Miles better than Something New! Bit weird that Nadine doesn't have her own part of the song, but I guess they're thinking about the tour where she sings most of the material. I like the chorus lyrics, simple message but very well conveyed. Nice video as well, impressive stuff.
  18. She doesn't really have a reliable voice, but breaks quite alot but she does sing in a unique style.. It just depends on if she can release one or two hits.

Rita Ora's songwriters should sue (R.I.P). It's ok actually but it does sound like a cynical try at being current, style over substance for me. I just don't see the song standing out enough to overcome their lack of promotion. I mean that 3 piece girl group from X Factor had a better song and they still never made it.
  20. Over 100k again this week! With big singles to come it's on course to be his biggest selling album, Olly's 1st million seller?
  21. Haha the only reason I know who this girl is, is because I saw a picture of her somewhere and she was so hot I had to find out who she was. Just checked her music out and it's a bit bland but I'd definitely shag her.
  22. Really enjoyed his performance of DD on TM, it was better than his performance on Xtra Factor. As for the US tour, it is only three dates but it still counts as a tour. Plus if tickets sell well then other House of blues venues might pile on or further Chicago, NY or LA dates could be added. I'm not sure about a Christmas album, while obviously lucrative, Buble, Rod Stewart etc are covers artists already. I don't want people to start seeing Olly like that. He can save that type of album for if his career starts to slide as a fall back. I would prefer another new album as he can work on it in January while in America then again when he releases his album over there in April.
  23. She's one of those Janet Devlin/Diana Vickers types who get annoying and voted out, I never saw the big deal about her anyway. We have Birdy and Gabrielle Aplin, plus the two X Factor alumni I mentioned, so there's no need for her. Samantha and The Collective are the only ones worth keeping an eye on.
  24. This will definitely help shift more copies of the album and gain Olly some new fans with it's 'Take that' modern pop style. Hope it goes to number 1 when it's released, it'd be his first prealbum release to do so though, so that might be a big ask. Pity it wasn't the first single (1 of 2 prealbum) as originally planned then Olly would be sitting on 5 number 1s.
