iTunes Album Chart: 2013
I reckon Olly sold alot of albums on Sainsburys as you could get the deluxe CD for £8, he was also number 1 on HMV and Amazon preorder charts so I think alot of his preorders went there. Personally I preordered from Sainsburys. Rihanna is looking like big competition this week, could be a tough battle, he might have to wait a week to climb to number 1. Haha why do so many people on here keep thinking that GA will beat Olly? There is absolutely no chance they will, they were no competition last week, the same is true this week. Rhianna is the one to watch.

Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
He was never beating Cheryl's sales, she's a singles artist whereas Olly is an album artist as well. Alot of people are like me and just wait to get the song on the album. Fingers crossed that Olly does the double this week, I think the single is the one most likely to let the side down, don't see him losing out in the album chart.

Samantha Jade - What You've Done To Me
I never said it wasn't, I brought up the viewing figures in relation to the voting and how easily it can change if less people vote. It would be harder for a bottom 2 act to win ours, I think she was bottom 2 twice. Nathiel could have won if things went slightly differently on song choice, Angel was another potential winner... Bella was always gonna be a Diana Vickers/Janet Devlin type who people get sick of the more they try and fit the themes. Did anybody notice the amount of UK acts on the results shows? UK pop is thriving right now!

DNA • 2nd single + 1st album
Little Mix will be fine, they're selling more than The Saturdays anyway. DNA should have been a bigger hit though, good pop song, baffling really.

Samantha Jade - What You've Done To Me
Have you seen the actual ratings for the show? Very small in comparison to ours, on their best day they get about 2m tuning in! They're a very twittercentric show yet Samantha Jade has only 38k followers. So they get alot less votes than other versions and the see saw voting reflects that.

Something new isn't a very good song yet it's currently at number 2, that's not through hate, Little Mix debuted at number 1 with Wings, that's not hate. DNA should have done better and girl band albums don't shift many units but boybands are simply an easier sell to teenage girls for obvious reasons. The Wanted don't sell either, groups struggle in general when you take 1D out of the picture.

US TV discussion / Fall '12 season
Aargh Boss is cancelled, loved that! Anyone know if Alphas will be back?

Samantha Jade - What You've Done To Me
She's like a cross between Kylie and Mariah, true pop star. I think she started getting votes after people realized how nice she is. Hardly anybody watches Australian X factor so the small amount of votes can see a big turnaround in fortunes. I doubt she will do anything over here though, even Guy Sebastien is unknown over here and he's the man in Australia. If The Collective were on our X Factor they'd be the next big thing, they are very good, edgy with the rapping and very commercial. Their song Surrender was pretty good as well. They crap all over Union J.

He has Surprise Surprise on Sunday as well. Hope he makes it 2 weeks at number 1 as he's never managed that before plus he'd be doing the double as his album is nailed on number 1.

Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
Yeah it's like his X Factor performance, he would still have been number 1 without that. Xtra Factor just keeps his profile up. But he does loads of tv and radio anyway. He's not doing Xtra Factor next year to concentrate on promotion, he can't do all the international stuff he wants and has to turn down gigs like the Capital and 4music ones.
-
Olly Murs - Right Place Right Time
Where did you buy that from? Yeah agree about What a buzz, just saw that he did that at the secret gig he did so it seems likely, I haven't heard it yet so I'm looking forward to that. Another busy Sunday for Olly! Bet he's looking forward to his two weeks off after Xtra Factor finishes.

Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
Yeah sure it has but that's work too, he's not a presenter and he has to work hard on that and fit it into his hectic schedule. When he finished X Factor he performed in most of the towns and cities in the UK before releasing PDLMG just like any fledgling pop act would. He doesn't use his personal life to get into the papers or slag anyone off to raise his profile. He goes to bed early on a work night and he puts research into tv appearances, so he's very professional and deserving of his success.

I hope so that would be great but I reckon he'll do more like 120k, it's guaranteed to be his best ever sales week for a single though!

Olly Murs - Right Place Right Time
Brilliant, that's a great idea to do a song on Xtra Factor just before the album comes out. It'll probably be an album track, he did a top version of I need you now last year so he could do One of these days as it seems to be quite similar and shows a different side to him. Wonder when my Sainsburys preorder of RPRT will arrive?

Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
I'm a lad and I really relate to him too. But the fact of the matter is that it's not 'cool' to like his music for lads which is a shame. His gigs are wall to wall fanny, not many lads. But then you see him performing at V festival and half the people singing along are male so there is a secret straight male appreciation out there! With Robbie Williams lads would be open about being a fan, wish it was the same for Olly.

Olly Murs is the leader of the pack.

Proud of the lad, he's Mr Mainstream now. I do wish more lads liked him like they used to Robbie Williams, hopefully his new album will make him more credible.

No way that will happen. Murs will be number 1.

18th November Singles Chart Battle
There are so many factors that go into making a song number 1, so thinking that it would go to number 1 because Cheryl is on it is illogical I'm afraid. Her presence has not guaranteed GA number 1s in the past and Cheryl and GA are different brands. The Flood sold about half what Candy did for Robbie yet Robbie was in Take That. You have to have the right hit song at the end of the day and you have to give the fans who buy into your brand what they want as they have their specific needs and trends. They may favour a specific style etc.

18th November Singles Chart Battle
GA will not be doing Cheryl numbers this week so that line of thinking has been proven illogical, with that in mind I don't know why you are still bringing it up. Your post is highlighting my point, so many people used Cheryl's sales as a barometer for GA, but they are two separate entities. In reality it was a group with an unknown current fanbase against an artist with a proven one. Something new just isn't that good a song, it's not even top 10 in GA's discography. GA would need a Sound of the underground to beat Olly this week, but a new band would struggle to get a top 10 with Something new.
-
iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 18th November 2012
That would be amazing but I can't see it selling that much in one week, I don't think GA will sell as many copies as people are predicting on here, so he won't have to sell THAT much. I reckon about 130k personally.

This years X Factor guest performances boosts
I reckon Rihanna will do Stay actually.

18th November Singles Chart Battle
HSAB and PDLMG went straight to number 1, DWMT was overtaken midweek by Rihanna's We Found love so took a while. Look at all the deluded GA fans thinking they'd beat Olly with no good reason to think that! 85 - 39, tbf some were probably just being hopeful though.

Olly is slaughtering Girls Aloud, definite number 1 for Murs. He's on Daybreak on Tuesday as well performing and answering questions so that should help. Gonna be one of the fastest sellers of the year.

Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida - Troublemaker
Yeah Marco is getting excited on twitter, I would definitely have steered clear of stairs but he did say they were part of his performance unfortunately! Maybe he's just gonna show what he's like on tour tonight to try and help sell tickets, we'll see...
