I hope Trump now feels happy with himself about his constant attacks upon former President Biden...
This is truly a shame, people can say what they want about Biden's political career but I truly believe that he is truly a decent and kind-hearted man so it is pretty sad to hear of this diagnosis. I hope he can hold on for as long as possible so he can spend as much time as possible with his family <3
What a tragedy that of the two presidents that the US has had over the past 5 years it had to be Biden that developed a diagnosis as horrible as this.

Much like a lot of the artists on Opium, I find his music to be incredibly unoriginal. I'd argue that he has slightly improved as an artist since he started getting proper recognition (around 2022) but his music does feel a lot of the time like a cheap parody of songs off of 'Whole Lotta Red' by Playboi Carti. It's all very homogenous and truthfully I really don't see the appeal
He's become a pretty successful rapper - #1 album in the USA, headlining Wembley Arena, but I'd question how much of that success is natural. His success really just comes off of riding Carti's coattails, I'm pretty confident that none of us would've heard of him without Carti imo.

My optimistic predictions for 2025:
By the end of 2025, Starmer has recovered a healthy polling lead over his closest competition, the Tories. Reform begin to lose support due to inner conflict and some major controversy I suppose...
In Canada, the Conservatives win the election with a large majority of +60 seats. Additionally, the Liberals are humiliated to a greater extent as the New Democratic party secure a higher percentage of the popular vote than the Liberal Party (although the latter party still wins more seats overall).
In Germany, the CDU come out as victors in the February election, winning about 240 seats. The SPD also over-perform their polling figures, exceeding expectations to hold a significantly higher proportion of seats in comparison to AFD. As expected, a coalition is formed between CDU and SFD to control a majority in German government.
In Australia, Labor exceed the polls and only stray a few seats behind the Liberal/National Coalition who are just short of a majority. The Green Party may have a key part to play in forming a majority for either government.
In the USA, Trump's support begins to expire almost instantly due to unpopular decisions, controversy, his usual breaches of Democracy etc. Trump's application of MAGAnomics also sends inflation on the rise once again due to high tariffs on foreign goods. The razor thin majority in the HOR makes it hard for Trump to pass his agenda and hence makes him look incredibly weak. By June, Mike Johnson has been ousted as speaker of the HOR.
This begins to set the stage nicely for 2026 where (yes, I'm optimistically calling it now) the Dems will win back a majority of over 230 seats in the HOR, make a senate gain of two seats (Maine and North Carolina, additionally Ohio, Iowa and Florida could be in play but its quite unlikely that they would shift left considering that those states haven't elected a Democrat senator since the Obama era, excluding Sherrod Brown in 2018) and a gubernatorial gain of Nevada and Georgia.
After some speculation, Kamala Harris does not decide to run for governor of California and instead prepares to launch a 2028 presidential bid in 2026. Throughout 2026, Harris becomes the clear frontrunner for the Democratic nomination in 2028 with Pete Buttigieg acting as her closest competition in the polls. Vance also leads the polls for the Republican nomination.
Lastly, the two 2025 gubernatorial elections (New Jersey and Virginia) are dare I say, landslides for Democracts?

Many on the US forums can't see him lasting the full term. He'll either assassinated, die from too many Big Mac and fries or be 25'd out. If he goes doolally Vance and the Cabinet will get him out. He'll never go voluntarily Some think he was just used to win due to his popularity with Vance the heir apparent.
All of those scenarios are probably quite likely, the first two more than the last I would say. There is a slight chance that he may step aside and let Vance take over as President so he doesn't have to partake in all the typical Presidential activities etc. In that scenario he would still be President (by whispering his commands into Vance's gullible ear and him executing them) but Vance would hold the official title.
Still, it is hard to see a dictator leaving office without death being a factor.

Crusin' and Running Around join A Place Where Love Goes in making the holy trinity of this album. I'm so obsessed with it still - one of the best of the year, easily.
'Crusin' really is lush! The way that the production builds throughout the song is incredible
This album has been on constant repeat ever since release, it's one of the finest albums to drop this year for sure. My major highlights were mainly 'Crusin', 'Lithonia', 'Survive', 'Real Love' & 'Yoshinoya'.
A very apt ending to the Childish Gambino saga.

Awww  What a truly incredible life that he lived, 100 years of dedication to serve his homeland, and the sheer amount of people that he assisted after leaving office is really heartwarming  There will likely never be any post-presidency that matches to Jimmy Carter's, period. He may not have been the most effective President that the US has ever seen but at least he tried to put his morals first, something that this cold-hearted political environment that we live in could do with.
We've lost possibly the most genuine and kind-hearted US President that there will ever be (considering the way things are shifting atm). I think its fair to say that Jimmy embodied what I believe America strives (or strived) to be. It's also worth noting that this man was a warrior, he survived both metastatic cancer and a form of liver cancer. All that I know is that Jimmy will at least be able to finally rest at peace alongside his wife

Seems like I need to improve my prediction skills
My Predictions:Ariana Grande returns with a new single early in the year. It is a smash hit and becomes her longest running UK #1 single. - She did return with a new single but it peaked at #2  still a banger tho
She also releases an album In Q2 but the other singles only trouble the low top 10/high top 20 The album was released just at the end of Q1 and I suppose this statement is true for 'bye', but 'we can't be friends' was a massive hit rather than just being a "low top 10 hit"
The Weeknd releases a new single or album in Q4 and he goes big on pop which leads him to have a big hit. NEARLY. The album will be released in Q1 2024 and he did drop some singles in Q4 this year. However, he didn't go "big on pop" instead deciding to experiment with trap ('Timeless') and Brazillian Funk of all genres ('Sao Paulo')
Justin Bieber returns with a new #2 album. It features a universally cringed-at song country-ish called 'Cowgirl' or something like that. No new music from Justin folks. Thank god.
Noah Kahan goes from strength to strength. Starting with year with 'Stick Season' becoming the first UK #1 of the year and the album also reaching the top 5 albums chart thanks to the vinyl re-issue in February Correct! The album did perform even better than top 5 when the vinyl was re-issued, actually climbing to the summit of the albums chart :cheer:
JID begins to be appreciated by the UK public after 'Surround Sound' and his 2024 album 'Forever & A Day' will get a few minor chart hits. JID never dropped a project in 2024 unfortunately so I can't blame him for not scoring any further chart appearances!
Playboi Carti secures a top 5 album with his next album and a few top 40 hits upon release At this point, Carti is as consistent as Rihanna with album drops
Olly Alexander finishes in the top 10 of Eurovision and the UK charts with his entry. The song was alright and performed OK in Eurovision. As for the singles chart.... we won't talk about that x
Sam Fender returns with a massive single that roams around in the top 20 for ages. His 3rd album also sells 60K+ in its first week Partially true! The first part is correct, the single was massive and it is likely to roam around the top 20 for a while. I would expect the album will likely sell 60K+ with ease as well
MGMT return to the top 40 with a viral hit. Sadly not, but they did release a cracking album
New albums from: London Grammar, Wolf Alice and Fred Again.. which are all #1s New albums from LG & Fred but no #1s in sight... (also, petition for new Wolf Alice music pls)
The Vaccines score their first UK #1 album in 12 years nope, a first #1 album from D-Block Europe instead lol
Green Day VS The Reytons turns out to actually be quite a tight chart race but the former do come out on top in the end. The latter's album was delayed so the highly anticipated albums chart clash never happened :kink:
The Smile score their 1st UK #1 album but there won't be any Radiohead albums being released until at least 2025 Two albums from The Smile this year! No #1s tho.... Hopefully some Radiohead material is on the way...
Dave returns with his 3rd studio album that has a short title. It goes for commerciality > Quality and there are some big names featured. It sells over 100K in its first week. No Dave album either! Let alone any new material. Hopefully he's got a project coming in the new year.

The HOR are about to vote on the bill once again with the bill unlikely to pass thanks to nearly no changes whatsoever from Johnson. Rosa DeLauro delivered an incredible speech as well a few minutes ago which reiterated how the GOP are utter scumbags - removing funds for research and treatment for childhood cancer in the new, partisan revised spending plan etc.
Edit: Plot twist.... It seems as though the bill is about to pass amazingly :o Democrats seem to have come together to save the government from shutdown even though the spending plan is not bi-partisan whatsoever lol
Edit 2: The house has passed it, truly astonishing considering the circumstances
-
The Republicans seem to have to have masterfully created a political crisis for America yet again. The US government is heading for a shutdown again thanks to a GOP spending plan that even the GOP is split on  With even a slimmer GOP majority come January, this is probably not the last time that this'll happen over Trump's upcoming term. On the brighter side, Mike Johnson's foreseeable future as speaker seems doomed due to this + more GOP-induced crises such as this bodes well for Dems in 2026 in the House elections (Senate looks truly impossible tho).

What a Lana Del Rey-esque start to a Lana Del Rey album rollout :kink: I'm hyped either way, new Lana material is ALWAYS appreciated.
As for the tour, I'd love to go. I was blessed to witness her greatness on stage in 2023, just a few days after the Glastonbury thing oop. Her live vocals really are something else tho, I would highly, highly recommend seeing her x. Aiming for Wembley or Hampden...

Single #4 (and hopefully the last before the album is released :kink:) is out on Friday! I'm assuming this one'll be back to his usual style rather than 'Timeless' or 'São Paulo' (although, I do love those two x ).

'War Pigs' to finally chart please 🙏 It's so unfortunate how relevant that song remains to this day...
