Nate's Top 40 (28/6/24) #39
Hi Jack! If anyone hasn't checked out Joey Valence and Brae then I beg that you must x Hi James! Charli and Lorde have indeed slayed and served once again, I hope Lorde has a new album coming soon! 'Sympathy is a knife' coming to be the next song from 'BRAT' to gain top 10 status tomorrow? The Killers' performance of 'Your Side Of Town' at the date I went to of theirs was acoustic surprsingly! It sounded great though and was enough for that banger to re-enter. Agreed that an album in the 80s-influenced style from them would've been. The new Empire Of The Sun album is ahping up to be really good as well. Hi Jade! Lorde is such a fantastic songwriter, she was the perfect choice for this version imo! The 'Romance' era has indeed started with a bang, I hope they move the album forward/back a week or two so they get another #1 album! There will probably be more songs by James in the next edition of my chart, his set at Glasto was a must-watch for me! The Killers must be one of my fav bands of all-time, there are so many classics in their discography! Hi Sergej! Great that you are supporting The Killers' long overdue takeover on my chart, let's hope their next album isn't too far away! 'Life' is a mega-bop as well.

Jim's 40 new tracks (June 2024)
Hi Jim! 'Monolith' was a fantastic Jadakissnia BJSC entry and one of my favs of the year for sure! 'CHIHIRO' is a stunner from Billie  'Thrown Around' is yet another fantastic release from James, he can't stop delivering quality songs right now. His new album with Lil Yachty is incredible as well. He is truly the king of consistency for me. This 'Club Shy' era for Shygirl has been excellent and she has served again with 'encore'. 'Bom Dia, Mentira' was another great BJSC entry from Utopia  There are so many fantastic songs here this month: I'm loving 'Death Grips', 'GTA.mp3', 'Girls', 'Favourite', 'Cyberia', 'No C No A', 'drifting', 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER', 'After Hours', 'She's Gone, Dance On' + 'Into Gold'!

Jade's Top 40 | #378 (27.06.24)
Hi Jade! 'Sympathy is a knife' at #1 :cheeseblock: One of the biggest growers from 'BRAT' for me, I'm totally in love with the song now! I adore 'Skinty Fia' but I fear that 'Romance' will become their best album to date. 'Favourite' is a delightful change of direction for them, was impressed to see it get them another UK chart appearance! Their Glasto set was really good as well. Great to see 'HEAT' rocketing up the chart, what a banger honestly  Ooh, nice to see that 'Everything is romantic' is still climbing :cheer: Yassss at '365' also climbing, we need that Shygirl remix officially released now! I'm loving BRAT Summer thus far  'BIRDS OF A FEATHER' probably has one of Billie's best ever vocal performances (as does the rest of the album tbf), It's been fab to see it take off so much. I initially found the chorus of 'HOT TO GO' slightly obnoxious but I'm really enjoying the song now. That, 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'Pink Pony Club' are the only Chappell tracks I've heard and enjoyed a lot funnily enough so I'm obvs stanning their presence here :D Jamie & Robyn cooked up a banger with 'Life' and the Lorde version of 'Girl, so confusing' is incredible  'Let Her Know' was the only song I enjoyed on the 'CMYK 002' EP unfortunately :( But thankfully James' new album with Lil Yachty is stunning (and such a different soundscape in comparison to Yachty's normal music bar the masterful 'Let's Start Here').

JSG'S Top 40 • #119 • 27/06/24
Hi James! 'BOA' at #1 just in time for the release of 'MEGAN' 'LUNCH' fell out of my chart pretty quickly but I'm glad it's doing so well here! The same goes for all the other Billie tracks here  Chappell in the top 10!!! 'HOT TO GO' has also really grown on me in the last couple of weeks, nice to see that debut. Great to see the new peaks for 'Too Sweet', 'Houdini', 'I Had Some Help' and 'Club Classics' + the debuts for 'Genesis.' and 'Please Please Please'.

Glastonbury 2024
Justice :cheeseblock: I decided to have a little peep at what was going on at the West Holts stage and was distracted away from SZA's set oop (will have to watch the rest tomorrow). But damn, two minutes in and I was HOOKED. I seem to have a new number one on my list of must-see acts, the set was astounding. The lighting in particular assisted the performance so much! I do feel pretty bad for SZA having such a minor sized crowd in comparison to the other headliners, but what do you expect when The National, James Blake, Justice and London Grammar are performing at the same time? Also, Coldplay are a band who sell-out stadiums and whilst Dua and SZA both sell-out arenas, I would say that Dua is far more well-known in Britain. If this were Coachella, I would think that SZA would attract a huge crowd tbh. I hear that James brought out Dave for 'Both Sides Of A Smile' + SZA covered 'Kiss' by Prince

WhoOdyssey's Top 50 - 28/6/24
Hi Whoddy! I tried to get into 'Pour Me A Drink' but I really can't unfortunately. It's a shame I as really enjoy 'I Had Some Help'! A lot of the reactions that I've seen towards 'feelslikeimfallinginlove' are a little too harsh imo. I don't find it to be excellent but it is by no means bad. A nice debut for 'Parking Lot' Travis' performance on the beat is incredible as always. Can't wait to see him in a matter of days :cheer: Great to see that 'Loneliness' is up to a new peak!

Glastonbury 2024
Just caught Burna Boy's set and what a show-stopper it was! Future headliner material right there. I saw Shania earlier and even though I don't generally react warmly to her music, I really enjoyed the performance! Hyped for SZA's performance next although she is clashing with so many of my fav acts lol. I guess I'll catch up on Justice, James Blake and London Grammar tomorrow  Dua, Fontaines D.C. and Coldplay's performances were ofc amazing as well. I'd love to see them both live one day...

The new reigning Queens of my chart are Charli xcx and Lorde who both score their first ever #1s with the remixed version of Charli's 'BRAT' album track 'Girl, so confusing'. I really enjoyed the original but Lorde takes the track up to another level, her insightful lyrics help to create an even more powerful pop moment  Charli's 'Apple' also climbs into the top 5 for the first time since it's release! Tommy Richman's follow-up to 'MILLION DOLLAR BABY' is also up to a new peak this week, 'DEVIL IS A LIE' is on the verge of the top 5 :cheer: Fontaines D.C's fantastic sophomore single from their upcoming album 'Romance' debuts straight into the top 5 as well  There is a big boost for Joey Valence and Brae across my chart this week, with 'PACKAPUNCH' featuring Danny Brown reaching a new peak within the top 10. Lastly, The Killers have a huge impact across the chart thanks to their amazing show in Glasgow. This means that the CLASSIC 'Smile Like You Meant It' gets the top 10 debut it has deserved for 20 years...

Dua Lipa headlines Glastonbury 2024
What a show-stopping performance  That was really all I could ever want from a Dua-headlined Glastonbury performance! The taste at bringing out Kevin Parker  I guess in some ways that Kevin was a pretty unsurprising guest considering all of his work on 'Radical Optimism' but his presence is greatly appreciated x. The breakbeat edit of 'Dance The Night' was such a sonic highlight for me despite only being played for a short amount of time unfortunately. The 'New Rules' x 'Glue' mash-up needs an official release now as well (I'm quite surprised they worked together so well as a song, I didn't feel like they'd sound great if you mashed them up before the performance tbh). Please announce a tour Dua, I beg....

BuzzJack's Favourite Top 100 Hit of 2024 / Weeks 13 & 14
Week 13: Future, Metro Boomin & Kendrick Lamar - Like That | 11/10 Olivia Rodrigo - so american | 10/10 Future, Metro Boomin & Travis Scott - Cinderella | 9/10 Hozier - Too Sweet | 9/10 Hozier - Empire Now | 8.5/10 Hozier & Alison Russell - Wildflower and Barley | 8.5/10 Olivia Rodrigo - obsessed | 8.5/10 Artemas - i like the way you kiss me | 8/10 Olivia Rodrigo - stranger | 8/10 Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott & Playboi Carti - Type Shit | 7.5/10 Tyla, Gunna & Skillibeng - Jump | 6/10 Tyla - ART | 6/10 Alex Olsen - someday i'll get it | 5/10 Benson Boone - Slow It Down | 3/10 'Like That' is one of the most exhilarating and instantaneously catchy songs to be released this year. The Metro production is fantastic as always and that Kendrick verse caught people's attention because it is an incredibly strong diss (same goes for the rest of his diss track tbh). Future's best performance on a song ever for me. In terms of the other 'WE DON'T TRUST YOU' tunes: 'Type Shit' starts a bit stale but once Travis serenades us with his atmospheric bridge, the song gets much better. 'Cinderella' is the better Future x Metro x Travis collab imo. The beat is just more production perfection from Metro and Future + Travis flow extremely well over the beat. 'Too Sweet' is probably the 3rd best #1 of this year for me (behind 'Stick Season' and 'Fortnight'), Hozier gives a great vocal performance and the production is continuing that 'Unreal Unearth' sounds very nicely. Big Gnarls Barkley 'Crazy' vibes from it additionally. It was delightful to see him secure a #1 in the UK after one of the greatest hits of all-time was robbed from the top nearly a decade ago  And the bangers keep coming with ORod's 'obsessed'. The 'GUTS' deluxe defo has some songs that I would've preferred on the original (namely 'obsessed' and 'so american'). 'so american' is a really refreshing song lyrically for Olivia and it is so damn fun and memorable. It ranks in Olivia's all-time top 5 for me. 'stranger' is a lovely little tune  'i like the way you kiss me' is easily the best Artemas song I've heard, such a breath of fresh air in the charts. Before I heard 'Slow It Down' I didn't like any Benson Boone songs that I'd heard previously..... 'Slow It Down' doesn't change that at all :kink: 'Jump' is ok but it does feel a little mid, even if Tyla serves powerful vocals. Same goes for 'ART' as well oop. As for the other Hozier songs, they're both fab. The Alek Olsen track is pleasant enough... Damn, this is such a strong week. Voted for Future + Metro x3, Hozier x3, Olivia x3 and Artemas :o Week 14: Beyoncé & Miley Cyrus - II MOST WANTED | 8.5/10 Beyoncé - JOLENE | 7.5/10 Becky Hill - Outside Of Love | 7/10 ILLIT - Magnetic | 6.5/10 j-hope, Gaeko and Yoonmirae - NEURON | 6.5/10 G-Eazy - Lady Killers II | 3/10 Alex Warren - Save You a Seat | 2/10 Camila Cabello - I LUV IT (feat. Playboi Carti) | 1/10 'JOLENE' is far from the best track on 'COWBOY CARTER' but it is a lovely little interpretation of the Dolly classic. I've seen 'II MOST WANTED' get slated across the internet but I actually really like the track. I love the warmth that radiates between Bey and Miley's vocal chemistry! 'Outside Of Love' is seriously one of Becky's best songs from recent years, I think I ranked it comfortably at 2nd from the tracks on her new album (behind 'Right Here iirc). It is a tad generic but it does work well. What in god's name is 'I LUV IT'??? It felt like a terrible attempt at being 'out there' for Camila, the production is slightly ambitious but the hook is maybe the worst of this year. We also don't appreciate Carti's Minecraft villager-esque ramblings x. 'NEURON' is a surprisingly good j-hope song. A commercial comeback for G-Eazy is not something we needed in 2024... 'Magnetic' is my first time hearing ILLIT and it's pretty good, sounds like a grower! And to top it off, we have another disposable Alex Warren track..... Voted for Queen Bey x2 and Becky

Jade's Top 40 | #377 (20.06.24)
Hi Jade! 'Monolith' at #1 again  'BRAT' is an album that really has infinite replay value for me, 'Sympathy is a knife' has been sounding like particular perfection for me over the past week. I'm now deeply considering going to see Charli at the end of this year, I'm sure she'd put on the most iconic show imaginable tbh. 'Everything is romantic' is sublime  Those flutes at the start, the spoken word lyrics, the ravey production... It's another masterpiece from Charli! Lovely to see 'Like I Say' reaching a new peak within the top 10 this week. 'HEAT' is a nice little EP packed with bangers from Tove x SG Lewis. I beg that they release a full collaborative album one day  The title track was my overall fav, what a bop! Stanning the debuts for 'WAKE UP' and 'Bom Dia, Mentira', the former maybe being my favourite BJSC entry this year :o

Sergej's Personal Chart 20.06.2024
Hi Sergej! Loving the new peaks for 'Houdini', 'Kind Of Man' and 'Not Like Us'. Kendrick delivered a stellar performance of the latter banger a couple of days ago at his LA concert with guests like Dr. Dre, Tyler, The Creator and Roddy Ricch  I'm sure the concert will go down as one of the best ever for hip-hop.
-
JSG'S Top 40 • #118 • 20/06/24
Hi James! 'BOA' at #1 again is a great sight! Loving all the climbs for the Billie tracks and the debuts from 'BRAT', my newly crowned AOTY  The new peaks for 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'I Had Some Help' are a pleasant sight as well!
-
WhoOdyssey's Top 50 - 21/6/24
Hi Whoddy! 'Gary' is another great single from Blossoms! The upcoming album should be good (I enjoyed their last LP a lot as well, hopefully this one will be even better). 'Favourite' Fontaines are just not missing at all right now. I'm hoping 'Romance' is pushed forwards or back so they can secure another #1 album! Lovely to see 'Loneliness' debut here as well.

Tovo Lo & SG Lewis - HEAT [39] 40. Joey Valence & Brae - THE BADDEST [40] Bring Me The Horizon manage to deny yet another track from hitting #1 this week :cheer: This week it's Don Toliver's stellar 'KRYPTONITE' which falls just short of the top spot. The track is the opener to his fantastic new album 'HARDSTONE PSYCHO'. While one Tommy Richman song (or rather a feature) may be leaving the top 10 this week, he scores a top 10 debut with his new banger 'DEVIL IS A LIE' in return! Track's from Charli xcx's instant classic 'BRAT' have a strong hold this week, with 'Apple' gliding into the top 10 for the first week. Lastly, viral sensations Joey Valence & Brae land a few debuts including the fantastic 'PACKAPUNCH' with Danny Brown in the top 10 this week. Their new record 'NO HANDS' has become my favourite hip-hop album of 2024 to date and I'm sure more tracks will climb/debut here next week.

The track is the opener to his fantastic new album 'HARDSTONE PSYCHO'.
