Ohhh oh yeah, the beachball a Liverpool fan threw onto the pitch. How could I forget? I mean, it's not like Sky went on and on and on and on about the fucking thing. Regardless of how it may or may not have aided Bent's goal last season i'd rather forget about it. I've no idea why Liverpool fans kick up such a stink about it, they should be thankful because it took all the attention away from how god awfully piss-poor they were in that match.

Very pleased with a point, and with the performance. But what is it about Sunderland that we keep conceding fluke goals? Seriously? Goals like today happen to other teams maybe what, once or twice a season? That's two bizarre, flukey goals we've conceded in the space of a week :mellow:

Not to worry Roo, Liverpool are playing Sunderland next and we could well be without Bramble and Richardson. As well as Mensah and Ferdinand. If we don't concede more than 5 i'd consider it a good result.

We weren't physical (I believe Arsenal committed more fouls than we did), he can't complain about the sending off (The first yellow was soft, but he should have been booked long before then), and the 4+ minutes of added time stemmed from the fact that his players spent the entire second half wasting as much time as possible, totally their own faults. As for the penalty, LMAO.

Something like that could only happen to Sunderland. Seriously, against any other team it would have bounced wide or over. On a lighter note.. I fucking love last minute goals :wub:

There's a rumour going round that Robbie Keane's on his way to Sunderland. Nothing concrete yet, but there have been murmurs on a few messageboards (Inculding from Spurs fans).

Really hope Shitty don't win the league, but then the most likely contenders to win it atm are all teams I can't stand so I don't care either way. Sunderland are going to struggle this season, especially if Bruce fails to replace Jones before the window closes. Ughhhhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, having seen replays of both they both warranted yellows. I like Cattermole, I think he's a good player but Christ he's not half thick. Such a poor choice as captain.

Ridiculous decision by Bruce to give him the captains armband. You want your captain to spend as much time on the pitch as possible, and its obvious to everyone that Cattermole was going to get at least one sending off/suspension at some point - albeit I wasn't quite expecting it half an hour into the season. I've not seen either incident but apparently his first yellow was soft. It hardly excuses him being dismissed and he has to take a large portion of the blame for today's result. Oh, and the referee today was shocking. Our penalty wasn't a penalty, their free kick from which they scored looked very soft, he was terrible. His first game in the Premier League and it showed with his inconsitency and inexperience, he had no control over the game whatsoever. In other words, he'll fit right in.

Jones gone to Stoke, confirmed now (£9m). There's a pic of him holding a Stoke shirt but I can't bring myself to post it. I'm gutted tbh. As much as we've made a profit on the lad, I still can't see this being good business by Bruce unless he has a suitable replacement. The fact he's gone to Stoke of all teams as well has made it even harder to take. I wish him all the best of course, but ugh. Annoyed by it all.
