  1. Thought they were immense tonight, probably one of the best away performances i've seen from a team this season. Deserved their win. Would love them to stay up and for Villa and Darren B£nt to be relegated.
  2. I'd say a close second to this: Distasteful banner made by Hearts fans and paraded around at the Cup game today.
  3. They weren't that much better than us. They deserved the win for sure but they weren't 4 goals better than us. I'd hardly call it "wanting it more" when even Everton fans have came out and said they can't believe how comfortably they won it without setting the world alight. They were industrious, not spectacular. And it's frustrating because you look at the changes Moyes made and the players he left out and it really was a fixture we could have gotten something from. Alas, it wasn't to be. We'll take our medicine and move on to the game against Wolves.
  4. I know I shouldn't really complain as the last time we were completely clear of relegation by March was back when Reid had us finishing 7th (over a decade ago), we've certainly never been so clear of the muck in my time as a Season Ticket holder anyway. But the players were dead on their feet against Everton, we're crying out for new personnel. 4 of our 5 remaining games are winnable, and in fact i'd even fancy us to nick a point against United on the final day given they've now all but won the league, but I just think it'll be another safe, midtable finish for us. Accept it and move on. As for Sess, he's such a beautifully gifted footballer, easily the best player we've had during my era, holding on to him will be massive. One thing we do need to cut out if we want to convince him to stay is to stop playing him up front on his own. He's all of 5 feet tall, long balls from the back are going to float over him every single time (as shown against Everton, it was like a training session for Heitinga). He needs a big name to play alongside him really. Two new strikers are an absolute priority in the summer, regardless of who stays or goes.
  5. I just want this season over now tbh, our campaign has well and truly fizzled out after the O'Neill revival. The players look tired, we're going to need at least 4 or 5 new bodies in the summer (as well as some of the chaff shifting out), let's just limp over the finish line and into midtable, cut our losses and hopefully look forward to a productive summer.
  6. Ungirthed was by far one of my favourite songs of '11, and Bellispeak and Lofticries weren't bad either. I think I may well be giving this a listen.
  7. My nan dog could have been in charge of Everton today and they'd have won. That's how poor we were. I honestly do not know why I bother. I really don't.
  8. Can't remember seeing a game in the Premier League where a team won by four goals without having to actually work for it. Everton might as well have been playing the Dog and fucking Duck. Embarrassing.
  9. Aye, would have been nice if either keeper had actually had anything to do over the 90 minutes. Some juicy tackles flying in though, loved Gardner's on Bale near the end.
  10. Sunderland drew in an awful, boring game. Yay.
  11. Andre, don't confuse him with your long, fancy words. Like 'be'.
  12. Really, really like 'Gun Has No Trigger'. Think I might have to give the album a listen.
  13. Prefer 'Perfect' out of the two of them, very summer-y. That said, it doesn't measure up to any of the singles from 'Gloves' for me.
  14. Heard "Meet Me Halfway" and "No.1 Song In Heaven" and honestly wasn't a massive fan of either. Kudos to them for trying something as ambitious as an a capella album but I don't think it's something i'll be buying/downloading.
  15. Oh wow. What was I even doing in 2007? Really cannot remember being all that active, probably was but can't remember it. Bit of a 'meh' year, 07. Also :o at Tyron constructing sentences without unnecessarily capitalising every other word!
  16. Didn't think i'd make it into this, cannot remember making that many posts in the Lounge but hey ho. Thank you for the kind write-up, Andre.
  17. Honestly, I quite like this. Seems to be a call back to the A Certain Trigger days and yet sounds quite refreshing. I may have to give this next album a listen, it can't be any more disappointing than Quicken The Heart.
  18. Eh, I think it's alright. Nothing special, and not a patch on Kelly, Changes or Cat & The Eye.
  19. Nobody thinks he's the perfect manager, everybody has their limitations. But you can't dismiss what he's managed to achieve with the team he's inherited? (Inherited being the key word there, this is Bruce's team). You can waffle on about how much you "hate his style of play" etc, but at the end of the day he's lifted the players, he's lifted the fans, he's given everybody a renewed sense of belief and more importantly he's getting results. The last time we were this far clear of relegation at this stage of the season was when Reid was manager. Despite tonight's disappointments the future at SAFC is still looking bright.
  20. Proud of the team for getting as far as they did, but heartbroken at how they bottled such a massive game.
  21. Yep, I was there, ROFLing in the stands. Literally ell em eff ay oh'd when it went in. LOL etc But yeah, i'm giving up with football for a while. Cannot be bothered with anything after tonight.
  22. So, so nervous. I don't think i've ever been this tense leading up to a match before, certainly not during my time as a Season Ticket holder anyway. Such a big game with a lot riding on it. Please, please don't let me down Sunderland.
  23. Begone, naysayer. Dreading/buzzing/shitting bricks for tomorrow. Can't believe it's less than 24 hours until arguably the biggest game in the club's recent history. Urghshgssasdfsdfdsdfgfdfgh. I hear it's going to be a full-on colours-and-scarves affair. Hope we sing the bastards into submission.
  24. My favourite post. Ever. Cannot wait for Tuesday night.
