  1. The moment they start calling a track a 'Buzz single' is the moment you know its flopped <_< Rihanna was at number one everywhere with We Found Love, her album entered at number one, but she needed a 'Buzz single'? It didn't even match the peak or chart run of Take Care and it actually had a video and was given a single push.
  2. You caught my typo v. quickly! :( I meant its almost been TWO years.
  3. If any of us handed in a work assignment this late we'd be fired. Not cool RiRi.
  4. Its been almost 2 years since California Girls. LET IT GO KATY!
  5. Britney needs to be a trendsetter, not doing duets with people who have teamed up with Beyonce first. But maybe a collab with Gaga will get her some attention in the UK. Depends how great the song is.
  6. Of Course Adele would win, no matter how much the judging panel want to shock they know that the awards will be invalidated if Adele doesn't sweep up
  7. She will be performing at around 2am in the morning so no. Anyone recording will just want to watch the game and skip the half time show anyway. And its on the BBC so no exclusive movie trailer adverts just commentary. So no reason to watch.
  8. Nicki's style nuts and it simultaneously makes me like her and annoys me to no end. Same with Gaga.
  9. I hope so, its has minimal Minaj rapping and I feel we should support Nicki in this direction. ;)
  10. I guess chart positions don't matter to her otherwise she wouldn't waste the guaranteed sales from her fanbase or release at the end of a trading week
  11. I was going to say, new videos premiere on music TV on a friday unless its a big name act who have paid for a specific slot
  12. Can't the NTAs get proper artists to perform? No offence to the girls but they have no original material!
  13. No, I mean movement of songs around the chart not songs going in and out. Rather than getting a peak in the first week and slipping steadily downloads have allowed songs to rise and fall more commonly. Like Video Games by Lana Del Rey, it was 40 a few weeks ago now its around 20 again. Its also allowed the consumer more power. Instead of three stages of 1) what the record company will press on CD/Tape/7" 2) What the shop will stock 3) What the customer will buy. Downloads allow constant sales, taking out the problem of shop space at least and we've seen a lessening of the impact of the record companies and what they push.
  14. Wikipedia says Elton's 'Tiny Dancer' never charted in the UK. (barring the Chipmunk monstrosity) That is definitely one of his classics.
  15. It is in the advert, must be one of those 'I haven't heard that in aaaggggess' songs.
  16. Luniz 'I got 5 on it' is classic 90s. One of those songs where the refrain sticks in your head disproportionately to the rest of it! Is it 59p or something?
  17. Personally I thought she would do around 80k but I never thought she had impacted the general public as much as the internet. I don't know why but it reminds me of American Gothic
  18. We are currently at an interesting time. With the advent of download movement on the charts is at an all time high. A song can build and not rely on the record company pressing CDs. It seems more democratic.
  19. Deadmau5 and Kaskade- I Remember is back in the top 100, quality song

For Flo I think Rabbit Heart would be her song. I don't think a cover should be classified as hers, its rubs me the wrong way
  21. Considering Drake is just a featured artist I wouldn't say What's My Name is his signature song. Its a mix of popularity and longevity. Kelly's in definitely Since You've Been Gone.
  22. Gotye's been added to Q's playlist this week! I think more will follow suit and I really think it can climb even higher.

Ollie's 5 weeks at number 1 is further proof to me why airplay should never ever be added to the official chart
  24. I'm guessing the top will be filled with Charity singles. Its the pop bands that are so front loaded by galvanising their fanbases rather than earning it on the merit of the song
