Is any 5th single from an album the right 5th Single? This isn't Teenage Dream here. Its all arranged itself very quickly for Olivia. 4 tracks all hitting at the same time! You want to keep that momentum but if a track is option 5, either its a deeeep bench of an album or its a placeholder to keep visibility before she can get in the studio to do more. I'd actually try and get another duet going like the Sam Fender collab. Aim it for March.

I saw the theory online today that The Life of Showgirl (song) is inspired by Britney who Taylor met when she was a teenager. Not particularly because Britney said anything bad to her but seeing everything Britney went through taught Taylor the lessons to make sure it didn't happen to her. Britney was perfect in contrast to her fans' lives but not everything was as it seemed. Sabrina represents who Taylor was, the fangirl of the older artist coming into the business and how Taylor wants to pass on that wisdom. Its not about the industry leaving girls for dead as the younger model comes along anymore. Taylor has become the showgirl and has made the life of the Showgirl what she wants it to be and wants to ensure other girls do so as well so there won't be another Britney. And in the end Taylor gets her flowers from her idol. If that is true, that is pretty damn genius,

I kind of thought Life of a Showgirl was a wrap on the Era tour because its about the Eras tour right? Next she'll get married and I think she'll have a kid. Whether she goes quiet for a few years I don't know. She could release Debut TV towards the end of next year and then come back with something new in 2027. Or she could take time out for family and really come back in 2028 with a big comeback narrative behind her. I think a lot of the vitriol Life of a Showgirl got was from fans of other artists who were bitter Taylor was taking up air and they felt air was limited.
