  1. I could do with another 5 or so pop bangers to get through the next 2 hours so hooray for Zedd
  2. Ariana Grande is making good pop. She should be getting more exposure than she is. Ten times better than anything else any other female pop star has churned out this album cycle.
  3. Urgh, this Ellie track is so generic.
  4. Music video has been getting rotation this week. Has it been doing well on radio? This seems like such a typical commercial radio summer sound.
  5. Duke's back to that 90s sound. I like it, not as good as Need U though
  6. While everyone is at it. Listening to charts on and off since 1999 with Mark Goodier when Alice Deejay was forever at number 2. It birthed my hatred for 9pm (Til I come) GO AWAY ATB, GO AWAY
  7. 1- GHETTO GOSPEL- 2Pac Ft Elton John (54,820) 2- CRAZY CHICK- Charlotte Church (32,692) 3- YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL- James Blunt (32,635) 4- AXEL F- Crazy Frog (23,500) 5- SHOT YOU DOWN- Audio Bullys Ft Nancy Sinatra (17,635) 6- ROC YA BODY (MIC CHECK 1,2)- MVP (15,300) 7- SLOW DOWN- Bobby Valentino (14,600) 8- INCOMPLETE- Backstreet Boys (13,004) 9- LOSE CONTROL- Missy Elliott (10,400) 10- FEEL GOOD TIME- Gorillaz (10,300) That retro chart. Yes, sales were low but honestly part of the reason for that is the shoddy tracks. I've never worked out where the vicious cycle started, awful product meaning awful sales or awful sales meaning a lack of effort put into the product.
  8. You know, with the chart now airing on a friday, a cetain BBC One pop chart countdown show axed several years ago could be a natural place to debut the chart. 7.00-7.30pm, Friday night, announcement of the number one for the millions who don't listen to radio in Prime time. One of the problems before was that the chart was announced Sunday, everyone knew what was number one by Thursday or Friday. There would be just a half hour lag.
  9. I'd like to see Madonna collaborate like she did with Britney and Justin in the 00s
  10. Wow, always astounds me how rude people think they can be on the internet. I never said only young people buy music. I said she is not relevant to young people AND she's trying to stay contemporary so not appealing to older buyers. I honestly can't see what is risky about Madonna's new stuff. Its not like she's gone metal. She's riding a trend of pop electronica. People always said she was the master of reinvention, its because she stayed on trend. But as an artist she is facing a lot of obstacles, ageism and sexism among them. She's not a hot, young, pop starlet. The industry is geared against her. But lets not pretend she is breaking standards here. Its decent enough pop but the industry won't play her to the core audience for that style, and the stations that will play older artists would rather play Michael Buble. She's not getting exposure because of that horrible limbo. Sam Smith, the very edge of contemporaneity. So edgy my ears bleed when I hear him from the sheer edginess.
  11. Who is buying Madonna anyway? She isnt relevant to young people and she is trying to stay contemporary so not appealing to oldrr people.
  12. I dont think Kelly will drop drastically. Shes a mainstream artist that can benefit from being seen on the top 10. Its not like its a huge fanbase like Fallout boy or something. I also dont think there will be a huge Brits effect. That is usually albums and I can only see Madonna getting a huge boost from a performance but shes going from 0 right now.
  13. I've seen the video a few times today, not that it has more of an effect than radio
  14. You need to show girls like that the pics of poor Rihanna. Make then see how messed up it is. He will NEVER get a penny off me, and he could release Ave Maria!
  15. Seriously, Love me Like you Do is bland cheesy trash.
  16. Woot Outlines! Now, hold that top 10. Great tune. As for Ellie, this and Beating Heart should have switched peaks.
  17. That Calvin tune with HAIM is so generic, hope its low top 10 at most. The Tinashe collab would have been a better choice
  18. +10 Jessie Ware - Tough Love +9 Beyoncé - XO +8 Shift K3Y - I Know +7 Years & Years - Desire +6 Katy Perry - This Is How We Do +5 Raleigh Ritchie - Stronger Than Ever (Bloodsport is so much better though) +4 HAIM - If I Could Change Your Mind +3 Nicki Minaj - Pills N Potions +2 Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me +1 Kiesza - No Enemiesz What is a milky chance when its at home?
  19. Think #1 Want Between 5-10 Sales 120k I don't get why people are lapping this up when Beating Heart was practically the same thing and was largely ignored. Also it has that line 'I'll let you set the pace', which sounds like its out of fanfic, but it is a 50 shades song so...
  20. So glad Hannah Wants is slipping from Top 10, its dreck
  21. No its a dance pop song a la Jess Glynne.
  22. Great to see Lights getting some publicity. It was my fav song of that era.
  23. Tennant Impact! God among men
  24. Gaga has been trending downwards since 'Judas'. That was when her 'shocks' became boring, Madonna was doing the self-hating Catholic schtick 25 years ago. After that, it didn't really matter how many meat dresses she wore or how many eggs she turned up in. It kind of exposed her.
  25. Meghan looks to have been static since last night. Her advances and declines are fluctuations in Uptown Funks sales
