Christmas #1 chart battle
Its a whole lot worse than just the tragedy. The police blamed the victims, took blood samples of children for alcohol, said that the people who were trying to help victims were peeing on the paramedics when the paramedics were stopped from getting in by said police, they authorised the opening of the main gate because the ticket stalls were broke and then said it was the fans who caused the accident because they pushed, they said that fellow fans stole from the pockets of the dead, they manipulated the media and the government into making Liverpudlians the scum of the Earth for their own reputation. Not to mention the inquest was inept, they ignored all evidence after a cut off time where they said everyone who died was dead despite medical evidence to the contrary. They'll have my money, let the Yorkshire Police be dragged through the mud with bells on.

Silversun Pickups - 'Neck of the Woods'
You just reminded me. I loved 'Sort Of' off the last album.

"Diamonds" // First Single
Generic Rihanna. Got to number one because it was a pre-album Rihanna release and not much else.

OCC's Favourite Number 2 Single
I voted for My Generation. Then I looked at all your posts and got sad. Where IS Robert Miles?

Hits of 2013
I think this year has been really musically dry which is probably why the end of year charts are looking so old.

Florence + The Machine // 'Ceremonials' October 31
She says that but the singles from Ceremonials work so much better in isolation because the album itself is a bit of a mess with the mix which is probably why they sought remixes. If we to rank Sweet Nothing as part of the Ceremonials era I would say its the best thing to come from it.

Mcfly 'Memory Lane':The Best Of
I have a grudging respect for McFly. They have rarely been very good but they are sticking around and continuing to work after the initial fanbase era has gone.

Christina Aguilera - Lotus
It just feels like the old guard don't have much of a hunger for the whole thing anymore. At least Timberlake is honest about it and got out to do movies. Britney hobbles around the stage like she resents it. Christina is just invisible, there has been little to no support of this album.

James Bond Themes - the ultimate song
---such a COLD finger---- Well done Ms. Bassey. Well done.

Mercury Prize 2012
Hate to say I told ya so about Ben Howard. Glorious album. Still need to listen to the La Havas offering.

Wings • 1st single
Maybe I'm too old but I've seen this cynical ploy for teen girl empowerment done before in a much more sincere way. I can see Syco's grubby hands all over this.

Hits by British artists in the US
It was the last single from the album, had very little exposure because she was starting her US bid and it was an incentive to buy the album re-release an not much more.

Wings • 1st single
Sounds like a 1998 Billie reject to be honest

Long overdue Greatest Hits
The meaning of the word 'Greatest Hits' has been abused by the record companies. I get what they are doing, getting out a hits collection while the bands are at the top of their game to sell it but that isn't the point. They should just out and out say its a 'Singles Collection' like No Doubt did. Its not a greatest hits. A performer or band brings out a Greatest hits at the end of their career surmising the best of their output like Abba Gold or Queen 'Greatest Hits'. The idea that Rihanna or Coldplay should bring out a Greatest Hits is ridiculous.

Record of the Decade - 2011 Playoff
L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N was 5 points from qualifying. Had they done it I would have had all three nominees go through. It peaked in March 2011. I checked

Billboard Hot 100 - w/e 9th June 2012
I'm so happy for Ellie. I was stunned when I heard Lights and discovered it had been left off the first cut of the album.
