According to The Sun Gary’s appointment will be announced next Saturday as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. As well as organising the star-studded event the 41-year-old singer also found time to pen Sing along with Andrew Lloyd Webber using 210 voices from the Commonwealth. The OBE will not only reflect his success with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations but it also includes a nod to his long musical career. A source told the paper: 'The Queen was delighted with Gary Barow's brilliant work and dedication. She made it clear he should be rewarded at the first available opportunity.' Gary is said to have been told of the news and the source added: 'He was quite surprised but he has accepted it.' 12,000 people gathered in front of Buckingham Palace on Monday to watch the four hour concert. Gary took to the stage along with Cheryl Cole to sing Need You Know but their performance was missed by The Queen who arrived mid-way through the concert. However the singer greet Her Majesty on stage with a bow before Prince Charles gave a speech to honour his mother. Sir Cliff Richard, Sir Tom Jones, Madness and Kylie Minogue were just some of the acts who performed at the huge showbiz event.

I think him joining twitter has done a lot for his appeal over the past few months. He's quite funny and pokes fun at himself which I think big parts of the public didn't realise. Never thought I'd see the day when Gary was seen as cooler than the likes of the lovely Robbie and getting on list that have George Clooney and David Beckham. Hope he doesn't mess it up.

Yep and I think on top of that he is meant to be working on music for Marcus and finding him a record label. I think the more things that are offered to him the harder he will find it to say no.

Thats the problem I think TT will take a back seat this year so Roobie can do his thing, If Gary does do XFactor this year, that takes up four months of his time and we saw how much time it took up this year. He has the Queen 2 events this year so where does that leave time for the guys to get together and write an album this year? I don't want to be a mood killer but I don't see them even starting to write a new album until spring 2013. Gary's fame have evolved over the past year very quickly (both good and bad) and I now think it's down to when he has time from his solo projects to make time for TT stuff. I think for us to get TT stuff sooner he would have to drop XFactor but I think his is enjoying the attention from it too much (twitter) to give it up yet. I do find it funny in a interview back in Novemeber he revealed that the guys think he's a rubbish judge and needs to get back into the studio. Just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong about it all. xx

I think a one off xmas cover album maybe for charity or something would ease people into him doing solo stuff if he wants to go down that road (which for all we know he doesn't). Just my opinion but I don't think he's quite there yet with the public to release a solo album of new writing yet and not straight after Robbie releasing a solo album of new writing as it will only be compared and will bring up past issues and gossip. I'm gonna wait and see how the Queens birthday events go and what other projects he does this year first.

I think he will do a xmas covers album for next Christmas, it did well for Micheal Buble and if he does XFactor again this year (I believe he will) he has learned his lessons from last year and will be more himself it could be a good platform to put something solo out like xmas songs without it being really "solo" He did say on twitter last week he still will be doing a song with Cheryl Cole and Trinie wants him to on his new album along with him working on Marcus and Craig material. On twitter he said he has meetings and plans next week for stuff this year. I also wonder if we will get another collab with him and Robbie on Robbie's new album. Downside I don't think we will get anything TT until late 2013

Gary was taking questions on twitter last night and he was asked if he would do more solo gigs.

Just wondering what everyones thought are regarding when TT will get back together again for their next album and if the group dynamics have changed a lot over the past 6 months, I am happy that Robbie has his solo album coming out next year and there will be lots of promo for that and I think as Gary is a producer on the album we will see quite a lot of promo of them together again. Plus Robbie's cothing line is doing really well. He's also spend a huge amount of time with Gary on the xfactor even going as far as helping Marcus and Criag on a personal level which is very nice of him. Then you have Gary recent rise in celebrity status over the past few months. He may hay attracted some haters but with over 1 million followers on twitter now, he's become even bigger since the XFactor, CIN, RAH concert in front of royalty and next year he is putting together all the Queens events and may have an active role with the olympics music. I'm happy the boys are doing other things but lately it's feels a little like Gary & Robbie featuring Take That <_< Interveiwers don't really ask him about TT as much as they used to and he's being offered mire things solo. In his recent Esquire interview he mentioned he's been offered at least 10 million pounds worth of endorsement deals such as perfume, clothing lines (he's increased sales for Vivienne Westwood) etc. Just feel the focus of the Progress tour and promo leading up to with was all about Gary & Robbie.
