For some reason I think Ed/Elton will be #1.

The TikTokers will reveal the pre-order link on Tuesday, but like LadBaby, they are misleadingly claiming that 'all proceeds' (not profit) will be donated to charity. It really irks me when wealthy people use charity as a way to butter up their own image.

Yeah, I mean, it all comes down to how much ‘influence’ these influencers have, right? Having a lot of followers doesn't necessarily mean they're engaged. LadBaby have a solid UK audience who follow their lifestyle and family stuff in general, so they bought all the versions of their songs. There’s zero chance the general public will care about them.

Their Instagram is @CreatorUniverse_ and their TikTok is @CreatorUniverse.com but so far most of the engagement seems to be them commenting from their own profiles. There is no link to their song available yet, but they may promote it on their personal profiles instead.

I'm curious to see how well Creator's Universe campaign actually goes. They're “influencers”, fine, but does anyone on that platform care about downloading music? Some of them do seem pretty confident about their chance of success…

Can the media straight-up encourage people to download a song, or do they need to have guests do the nudging? For example, could they keep reminding viewers about the Christmas #1 song, giving the Pogues some love, without actually telling people to download it? I ask because they did a lot of this kind of thing on Good Morning Britain and This Morning before Ukraine won Eurovison, and they had guests telling viewers that Ukraine must win.

I'm curious to know how Ed and Elton are doing with their playlisting. They've got some solid playlisting on Amazon and they're currently at #7 in the first look, so they're definitely in the running for another big year. Could they get #1? Amazon is tracking two versions of Sam Ryder's song: the ‘Your Christmas or Mine 2’ version, and the single version. It will be interesting to see what happens when the movie is released, as it’s the focus track. Jorja's song is charting much higher than Lizzo's cover was last year, with similar playlisting. If you ask Alexa to play some Christmas music, you're almost guaranteed to hear either Sam or Jorja's song first.

Yes, but I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate. Amazon says “300+ bought in the last month” but both items are on pre-order.

On second look: the 7-inch vinyl has two songs for £13.99 and the CD has four songs for £6.99. Both have each sold over 300 copies, but I'm not sure if they count towards the total.
