Dec 22 seems a bit late unless they are hoping for a miracle in January?

I’m not expecting much, but Sam has 4.6M followers on Instagram, and has only mentioned the song once in the past two weeks, and even that post failed to mention its release. Jorja, on the other hand, has been more proactive in promoting her song. I understand that there are plans for a campaign, so perhaps it will start when the film is released.

The song will plummet again this week because people are mostly listening to Christmas tunes at the wekeend and, unsurprisingly, he isn't putting any effort into promoting it.

I think Jorja Smith's Amazon Original will do better than Sam Ryder's on the charts. It's got that Ellie Goulding “River” feel where it's a Christmas song without being too in-your-face about it. Amazon Music can throw it on any of their pop and chill playlists and people will listen passively without thinking “ugh Christmas”.

Isn’t that what Ed Sheeran did with “Perfect” to get number one?

There are some odds now for Jack Harlow, so I bet £3 on him at 10/1, and £3 on Sidemen at 9/1.

Ed Sheeran and Elton John are still currently missing from the Top 100. This is strange, as “Merry Christmas” had entered the chart in the Top 50 at this time last year.

Even if it lands at #50, that's still a big jump from #88 last week, and it's still early for Christmas songs. Plus, the movie hasn't come out yet. Lizzo’s Amazon Original didn’t chart until 8 December.

They should release it on 15th Dec to get the coveted Christmas Number One album (iykyk) :rofl:

There are tweets floating around that Taylor has re-registered “Christmas Must Be Something More”.

I’m fully expecting Sidemen to release another single. It’ll be easy for them.

A music video is on its way!

The song might dip this week, but it'll probably bounce back when the movie is released. You'd think Amazon would push an original song more as Christmas approaches, but they didn't hesitate to shove Ellie Goulding's cover of "River" down people’s throats every 20 minutes, so who knows what they'll do this time.

I genuinely believe that if a 3-year-old sang this song, it would sound identical to this recording.

Amazon Music recently added Sam Ryder and Jorja Smith to their Greatest Christmas Songs playlist, at #10 and #20 respectively. They forgot Anne-Marie… :cry:

It should be, it was released in 2021.
