I agree Gill but I think LRN and Your Game deserve more promotion in Europe

If they are on the shelves they count towards awards ie. 600,000 shipped is platinumx2. They have to be sold to count towards the charts.

I don't think Will would argue about the tv show selling so much of that c**p song. :lol: Mind you, he did SING it and he stood up for the whole performance. :P

If this is the case I hope they are careful about what radio shows he goes on. Some DJs. are lovely but there are some doughballs on the smaller networks. Anyway, as I said I wish him all the best. :) and hope you do not have to wait too long to hear from him.

The artist also has to pay for half the video and other promo expenses off their share. I read that they get something like 20p. for every single and 70p-just over a pound per album depending on how much writing credits they have. The record deal is only a loan and pays for these. When enough sales have been made to recoup this, the astist then gets his cut on the remaining sales. I agree on the catch 22 thing :)

They have a promotion budget and i'm sure they pay half themselves. Will is rumoured to have a £500,000 deal on this album off the back of Friday's Child's sales and this will reflect his budget. Shayne is being afforded the hype budget that previous winners and runners-up have been given (if their face fits). I imagine they are pulling all the stops out this time because the last two winners of these type of shows were not particularly successful (or promoted) and the public need to see positivity. I wish Gareth all the best on his return but I honestly hope(for his sake) that he does not return with the same amount of publicity and hype that he had to begin with. IMHO, that played part of his decline in popularity.
