  6. Looks like there's a fair bit of demand for this rate and I've been given the go-ahead to host it! This rate celebrates the songs that achieved platinum status in the UK despite never reaching the famous top 40 section of the weekly charts. Former Radio 1 chart show host Bruno Brookes once said "these are the only 40 songs you should care about"- clearly people disagreed as over 400+ songs are on this list, spanning each decade of the chart's existence. There are some genuine classics and hidden gems on the list, but which will be crowned the forum's favourite? The rules are the same as King Rollo's "Ultimate UK Number..." rates: in Round 1 you will choose your 30 favourites from the list and put them in order. Your most favourite gets 30 points and your least favourite gets 1 point. There are 438 songs to choose from, 100 of them will advance to the semi-finals. The song you give 30 points will make it to the semi-finals as a wildcard if it didn't receive enough points from others to qualify, meaning we could have more than 100 semi-finalists. You have until 7pm BST on 21st June to get your points in- this means more songs may become eligible if they receive platinum certifications on the 13th/20th of June. I won't count the votes until the closing date so let me know if you change your points before I close.   10. His last album was 2018 I believe, it's bound to be pretty popular at least for day 1. No big features so don't think he'll trouble the singles top 40
  11. Thinking this might be like Vampire and be a long-running number 2 to start out with. Not 100% sure it can beat Ordinary
  12. It could get a reset if it's increased by 25% as it hasn't charted since 2017. It went 5x platinum back in March, the first non-top 75 to do so
  13. Only 6 in the top 40 😭 and another 8 across the whole top 100 (9 if you count Back To Friends which was released on 27th December/start of tracking year). This time last year there were 13 songs released in 2024 in the top 40 and a further 10 lower down in the top 100. What a drop off, just so many monster hits last year, and of course the rise in streams for much older songs

  15. If those are the true sales of Back To Friends I was bang on with my initial estimate! Could see Shake It To The Max entering in around 3 weeks but not 100% sure about it

  22. OK if Back To Friends isn't in this week I'll eat my hat, Don't Stop Me Now will fall out. Also thinking the next oldie to enter might be We Are The People, been popping in and out of the audio streaming chart quite a bit.
  23. Three new additions this week- Lorde's "Ribs", Oasis' "The Masterplan" and XXXTentacion's "The Remedy For A Broken Heart". Saw something about a 41 rate- will suggest we should have a rate ofthese tracks, most of them are more well-known here than the 41s!

    Radio 1 did a top 100 for 2023 and 2024 only- they were archived on Mixcloud but the uploads have since been taken down
