I'm probably underestimating Back To Friends (I have it on 133k) but I think Sorry I'm Here (on 150k) will enter before it. Also Tell Me (on 136k) will be a quite a bit away from the YTD next week but will probably enter in 3 weeks time

Think any kind of "consecutive" record would be hard to break now thanks to album tracks charting/viral songs belatedly charting and breaking chains for artists.

It's by the Pop Idol runner up and was the 2nd biggest seller of the 2000s behind the winner's single...and one of the first number ones that showed how big reality TV would be on the charts for the next 10 years (not just the winner being a massive success)... those are pretty distinctive features if you ask me! Also I think Do They Know It's Christmas has now overtaken Unchained Melody if you count LadBaby's. Even if you don't it's tied with You'll Never Walk Alone anyway!

As a song it is very ordinary. However it is the solo debut single of one of Britain's biggest stars and the first Take That solo single to hit number one so with all that baggage I can't call it an ordinary number one

Her remix of Show Me Love is partly why it's in the top 5! She also had another multi-week top 40 with Jump. it's obviously a case of needing the right song/going viral for her unfortunately, would be good if she could get consistent hits

I have thought about how TikTok could directly contribute to the charts- would be up for it if musicians/labels actually made money directly from their use in TikToks. It would be similar to airplay though as labels get big accounts to promote the music they want, chart manipulation would be rife. In an ideal world where everything was 100% organic it would be great to see how use on TikTok would directly affect the chart, more novelty stuff getting in possibly!

Was never that interested in music at all until 2020 but was suddenly hooked onto the charts halfway through 2021! Think it was something to do with Donda VS Certified Lover Boy and the discussions around it.
