  1. Oh he said at the Jingle Ball (third time now) “My album came out yesterday and you know what it feels really good, it’s looking good and I really think we have a shot at number 1 so everyone please buy my record haha”
  2. I’m going to repeat what I said a few days ago and I think his team planned far in advance for bulk iTunes, Amazon, HMV, album shows, store bundles, etc. which are worth ££££. The promotion was done over time to encourage people to buy multiple copies for tour tickets, meet and greets and gigs to buffer inevitable low streaming. I don’t think he’s that worried about it because he was at the Capital Jingle Ball with Sigala last night.Amazon CD (unsigned) - #3 (#1 best seller in pop; hovered around #14-#22 last week) Amazon Blue Vinyl (signed) - #17 (#53 last week; high as #11) Amazon Vinyl (unsigned) - #384 (#1500+ last week)ITunes - #2 behind NOW Christmas (#1 on debut but Chloe jinxed it).In addition to This Morning, he recorded a 1 hour show with Virgin Radio to talk about his album and hopefully more BBC promotion next week.
  3. :cheer: for Olly I bet the sales will be close
  4. All The Way Over has climbed +25 on iTunes to #18 today. He was on BBC Breakfast but I am surprised it's been floating around for so long since Strictly.
  5. The Guardian can do one our Sam is lighting up London, Liverpool and New York! :magic: I like all the songs but I think my favourites are Put A Light On Me, OK and Crashing Down (honorable mentions are More and Tiny Riot from the EP). @1601242170538672129 Haha I like your positivity :cheer:
  6. Olly Murs posted that he's sailing off to his "first number one in years"! Let's hope it doesn't sink ^_^ (although I'm sure he knows tbh)
  7. Guardian don't think so  I like how they criticised the "non-sensical lyrics" of Tiny Riot while praising Space Man when the first line is "If I was an astronaut I'd be floating in mid-air". Anyway basically the consensus is "safe debut" and "impossible to dislike Sam".: Guardian - 2/5 Times - 3/5 Irish Times - 3/5 Evening Standard - 3/5 Metro - 3/5 NME - 4/5
  8. David Smyth fancies himself as a comedian.
  9. What will help is Parlophone have plastered a bright blue "The Debut Album from the Artist of the Year" sticker on it  I'm currently listening to the album in order to see what the flow is like and only Sam Ryder could make a gospel chorus followed by a shredding bluesy guitar solo work. It's a solid album, I like it and his voice is amazing
  10. Rehearsals have started and the stage is magnificent! Freya looks incredible the team have done a fantastic job :cheer:
  11. It looks like Sam has sold out his HMV instore signings. It must have been the puppy dog eyes earlier "Hey. Don't leave me on my own, click this link and come hang out with me  ". I don't know if he will add any more he seems quite busy with album and non-album stuff. http://i.ibb.co/JkzXG4p/112212.png
  12. I don't know where to stick this but the BBC announced The Big Eurovision Party for their New Year's Day schedule from 12:30am - 2:25am (after Sam Ryder's NYE Party) which is rumoured to be the recording of Het Grote Songfestivalfeest (the all star concert that took place on 17th Nov). Rylan was there, the hosts kept switching between Dutch and English, and there were rumours the organisers had sold it to an international broadcaster.

Marry Me has finally gained on Amazon it's now #8 (up 325% apparently) meanwhile Cliff at Christmas is still riding high at #1. I wonder if the latter can challenge for #2 again.
  14. RAYE has an army who supported her as an artist before Escapism. Her climb up the iTunes chart was insane and she has released a "slowed down" version.

Pointless is not holding up as well as Forget Me on Spotify even without the Christmas influx. RAYE would be #1 on Spotify without Christmas music.
  16. A lot of people don't like change when it comes to Christmas music. The popular songs are classic because they are tried and true over a period of time and passed down to the next generation. It takes a while for a new Christmas song to be appreciated and recognised as a classic and record companies know it's cheaper to repackage existing classics than to create new ones that will take years to become established, if ever. I don't think LadBaby are there with their 4 x #1. I don't think that will change because most listeners are not interested in seeking out anything new and the OCC shouldn't change beyond ACR because some people don't like what people are listening to. At the same time Mariah and Wham don't block modern artists getting Christmas #1.
  17. Based on what he said before I think his record label is aiming for an undisclosed # pre-orders rather than “It’s release day and we are number 1 on iTunes btw can everyone stream” attitude. The sales money is significantly higher and it would be a mighty success story for BBC Eurovision and his record label to have a new artist, almost unknown back in March, with a #2 debut single BPI Gold and #1 debut album 7-8 months after Eurovision.

I think Olly can beat Taylor because her sales are decreasing each week and Sam's album isn't released until next week.
  19. RAYE celebrating listening to the chart on Instagram was so cute

Lewis told The Sun he ‘pilfered the heartfelt ballad’s opening lyric from pal Ed Sheeran’ “I bring her coffee in the morning, she brings me inner peace” — who had come up with the line in an earlier songwriting session. Maybe that is the extent of the “co-write”

I am not a sucker for love ballads nor I am an Ed Shereen fan but Perfect’s melody is warm, cosy and fairytale-like and the lyrics flow seamlessly to the end. It’s cute and mushy in a good way and the music video is adorable. Pointless reminds me of an insecure love who does things for their partner in return for validation otherwise their life isn’t worth it (“I take her to fancy restaurants, she takes the sadness out of me”). It’s not meant to be that way because it’s a love song but Lewis vocal delivery makes it sound dreary instead of warm and romantic. I listened to both songs yesterday and preferred the first a lot more.

It could be at least 40 seconds shorter.

I am probably hours late but the The Christmas King is now #1 on iTunes! :funky: (Stormzy is at #3)
