I think the main issue is Kylie isn’t available to promote the singles due to her vegas commitments. Therefore, maybe BMG don’t feel there is any point doing a video if there’s not going to be much promotion. The whole strategy has been weird for this album and that’s partly why it hasn’t done as well as we all hoped. I also think it might be the end of the era now due to extension mixes coming out which only surfaced for disco at the end of the album campaign.

Tension deluxe cd has been £15.99 pretty much since its release despite dropping quickly out of the charts. That’s more expensive than many other more mainstream acts like Ed Sheeran, P!nk or Lewis Capaldi so I’m not surprised there is little demand for the physical product outside her core fan base. Of course, any promotion will help boost sales to some degree.

It’s not one of my favourite albums. There are some good tracks like into the blue, sleeping with the enemy, mr president, feels so good and kiss me once but there are some pretty poor tracks too. I’m not keen on I was gonna cancel, les sex or beautiful.

Yes hopefully but not with such a cringy release as Claire. Her 2nd album was awful compared to the first. Full of cheesy, uninspiring cover versions which were so forgettable.

Disco will be remembered for different reasons. It was released during lockdown and had one of the highest weekly album sales of the year despite the fact the shops were closed. It reached number one in the albums and by doing so, Kylie became the first female artist to achieve a number one album in five consecutive decades. Padam has raised her profile for sure but singles don’t tend to generate much income for a record company these days due to the impact of streaming.

Tension as an album was much better than the first three singles. Like many others, I would never have predicted Kylie would have achieved another T10 single so that was a massive plus. However, I still think the title track should never have been a single and is one of the worst tracks on the album alongside 10 out of 10. Although the album got to no1, it didn’t hang around half as long as the last two BMG albums and promotion was a bit limb. Hooefully, the album will get a further boost through a good reissue campaign with a strong single.

Is there a CD version of the extended edition coming out? I didn’t get the normal album.

Did Tension make the T100 albums of the year? I remember disco was in the T40 so Tension has certainly underperformed in comparison.

I’m not confident we will get any other singles tbh unless it’s from a reissued version of the album. The extended mixes for disco only came out towards the end of the campaign but extension has been released a lot sooner.

A duet with ladbaby next Christmas would really up her credibility.

Lots of albums already reduced in HMV yesterday but tension was still full price oddly enough.

A duet with someone like Michael Bolton or Jane McDonald is just what Kylie needs to re-boost her career. It would be such a career defining moment.

So it’s Sam’s 2nd single to peak at no2 to date. Never thought he would get another T5 hit so soon tbh.

I was referring to tension, not Padam. I agree with you that Padam has earned its own place as a worthy single but it’s not up there with my favourite Kylie tracks though.

Well if this this track was more widely available (not just through Amazon) then I’m sure it would be Xmas no1. I suspect he will drop as the week progresses but end up mid T10.

Good news about the album returning to the T75. It just shows with some promotion and a price drop what can happen. However, I agree with many of the points raised about BMG’s handling of the release. The album should have come out sooner after Padam was released. The track lists for the physical releases has been poor and lack of any proper release strategy for HOTN.

Vegas high has got to be a contender for next single surely. Alternatively, things we do for love would be great.

Credible in my book is something age appropriate with good lyrics and vocals. Tension is none of these in my book. A 55 year old singing ‘touch me right there…’ on repeat is just completely cringy. Her vocals sound like she’s on helium. I appreciate my views and opinions are subjective, just like everyone else’s on here but getting annoyed about it is just over the top when it’s just an opinion that might differ to yours.
