Hold On To Now Chart Campaign
With the extended mixes release coming on vinyl, the CD single 2 track is a bit of a lame effort. I would have liked some additional mixes or even a b side on the cd single.

Slow ● 20 years on
Slow is a standout track from Kylie’s career. Totally different to anything else she has done and a million light years ahead of its follow up red blooded woman.

Nothing Fails ● 20 years on
Nothing fails never made a big impact on me. I’m not sure what would have done well from American life. While it’s not a bad album, it lacks killer tracks.

Extension: The Extended Mixes
It’s good we are getting the extended mixes but disappointed there is no CD release again.

Kylie's Golden Decade Era.
Probably the 00s but 80s is not far behind.

The Tory fibs and fabrishications thread, Mk III
Well the evidence about his conduct and character suggest otherwise.

The Tory fibs and fabrishications thread, Mk III
Johnston is now being exposed through the covid enquiry as an indecisive, chaotic, selfish and out of touch ex-pm. I really don’t think he should be allowed to use his position in the media to criticise or influence the public over the enquiry. It’s completely wrong.

Sigrid - The Hype
I’ve preordered the CD. I wasn’t overwhelmed by the hype but borderline and wanted it to be you sound like a smash.

Kylie's Vegas residency
It looked petrifying so I never did it.

'Hold On To Now' chart predictions
I’m predicting T50. I think it might miss T40 as much as I would love this to make an impact on the charts.

Hold On To Now ● 3rd Single
Excellent choice. I’ve ordered the CD single. It would be a great if it achieves a T40 status but unclear how well this will do. I guess it will depend on promotion and whether it’s picked up quickly by radio. A good campaign is very much needed to boost the album.

Girl ● album discussion
Girl is very underrated album but what I will say is Dannii only released 4 albums but we’ve had a tonne of b sides, remixes and rare stuff released. The remixes of Dannii’s songs are generally a lot better than Kylies too.

Take That - Brand New Sun
I disagree. Their last album ‘wonderland’ was pretty decent. Their newer material just isn’t as commercial sounding but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Have you listened to it? I didn’t like the re-recorded stuff for Odyssey though.

Kylie's Vegas residency
Saw a post on Facebook today. Kylie was at the stratosphere in Vegas. I remember going up the tower when I went in 2016 and there is a rollercoaster at the top that hangs off the edge.

Dreaming (feat. Marshmello & Sting)
The reissue feels a bit like a half hearted attempt to throw something out there before Christmas to generate some additional sales without much effort. 6 of the tracks are live versions which don’t interest me. Irrelevant is better than dreaming but only just.

Jess Glynne - Friend Of Mine
Yeah, seen it’s no1 on iTunes. It’s quite catchy. Unlikely to have much impact in the charts if there’s no streaming but at least it’s getting some recognition.

Cher - Christmas
Has anyone listened to the album yet? I might get it for Xmas. I like the single and the clips sounded ok. It’s way too early to listen to the full album yet though lol.

Girl ● album discussion
Are there any plans to reissue the first two albums? I already have the deluxe from 2007. Not sure I would shell out £40 for both though. I’ve bought girl and neon nights though as these two are her best albums.

Tension ● 16th album discussion
Nobody is saying Kylie’s career is in jeopardy but clearly some fans are disappointed by the performance of the album to date. It’s a great album and deserves to do well. I think most people expected it to hang around longer particularly given the success of Padam.

Tension ● 16th album discussion
You can’t predict what the other BMG singles would have achieved if a physical release had come in the first week. Tension had a clear advantage in week 1 given BMG released everything in the first week and that shows in its no19 peak. However, it was unable to sustain that as it spent most of its chart life near the bottom of the charts. I don’t have the physical sales to hand but I’m sure I read on here it would have just missed the T40 without any physical releases. Even if it was no24 as you say, it’s still been a very brief flash in the pan of chart success. As I said earlier, if you ask the general public about tension, most people will not have heard of it.

Tension ● 16th album discussion
Tension is largely a fan favourite song in my view. I’ve been talking about Kylie in work recently and many people recall her hits like head, spinning around, lucky etc but most of them haven’t heard of tension. It’s only done slightly better chart wise than her recent singles spending majority of its time outside the T40 in the lower part of the charts. Yes, it went T20 but that was only because BMG released everything in week 1 including a physical. If they had used the same strategy for the disco singles, most of them would have made the T40 too.

Tension ● 16th album discussion
Interesting figures - on the surface, Tension is only 25k behind disco and 12k behind golden at the same stage in its life. However, it’s already out of the T75 while the others still had decent weekly sales / chart positions so it will be a lot harder to catch up and even overtake. It’s not impossible but I would say highly unlikely without major promotion and change of fortunes. Tension was also released due to popular demand from fans but I’m not sure it’s really connected with the general public.

Tension ● 16th album discussion
‘How many times’ There’s no need to be rude. Do most people buy their albums from supermarkets? I think if you look at the % of the market, you’ll find it was very low and hence why they stopped selling them in supermarkets. Disco was also released during lockdown when shops were closed. I agree with you about price reductions but streaming figures are now higher than when disco came out. In addition, I wonder if the album had been released closer to Christmas like disco whether that might have helped to keep the album afloat longer and would have fitted in better with scheduled promo such as the audience.

Dreaming (feat. Marshmello & Sting)
This is a big come down compared to trustfall and not never gonna dance again.
