I haven’t listened to the mixes of tension as they don’t interest me but I think it’s time they moved on to the next single. I really hope it’s ’hold onto now’. This should and would have been a much better 2nd single and far more representative of the other album tracks.

In what way is the market so different to only a few years ago? I don’t think it’s changed dramatically. Sales have continued to decline to some degree but the decline has slowed alongside streaming increasing its market share. The chart runs you mention are not particularly a new phenomena that has started during the last 3 years. However, it’s certainly become more common for albums to experience big drops from no1 but Kylie has done well to buck those trends with longevity for most of her albums apart from the decon era, kiss me once and let’s get to it.

I prefer windows, don’t think this is great and bit of a disappointment.

3 weeks in T75 is a very disappointing and a bit of a disaster. It might have reached no1 but it’s still plummeted much faster than any of her other albums. I’m sure many people will blame it on the market changes but disco was only released 3 years ago .Yes the market has continued to shrink but that factor alone doesn’t explain fully the album dropping out so quickly. It will be a hard job to turn the album fortunes around now.

My wildest dreams is far better than euphoria.

I haven’t bought either. The clips of euphoria sounded abysmal, just tacky and dull. Now or never is more original but didn’t really connect with me enough to buy it.

I wonder if this will get reissued again. Sia has just reissued her Christmas album for about the 4th time with extra tracks.

Yes agreed, hopefully BMG will get the next single rolling soon to try and help the album recover. At the current rate, it will most likely drop out of the T75 next week without any intervention and that would be a shame for such a good album overall.

However you choose to look at the success of tension to date, you can’t get away from the fact it has dropped much faster than anything she has released recently and sold significantly less in its current chart life. That’s not spreading false negativity, it’s based on sales and chart runs. Hopefully, things will turn around but I’m not wildly optimistic. There is no promotion lined up, no price reduction and while the audience show will give a boost, it will only be short term.

Received mine yesterday. It’s a nice package but sadly omits the 12’ mix of keep up with the good times which was included for the first time on the 2cd deluxe in 2007. I wonder if the first two albums will also be reissued?

Hopefully a CD single including an extended mix as a minimum. A few mixes would be great or even a b side but unlikely.

Not bought it and don’t intend to. Sounds dull as hell the way they have changed the style of the songs. Basically, ruined a great album.

Comparing Ed’s latest album sales with Kylies is quite frivolous. Autumn variations was a very low key release compared to his usual stuff with little or no promotion and far less commercial style. Therefore, I wouldn’t have expected this to have performed well even by his own standards.

Any update on the reissues?

I got excited when I heard the deluxe reissue would include 9 new tracks but 6 of them are live which is a bit overkill. Will the reissue get a physical release or digital only?

Well I don’t like tension (the song) and I’m entitled to my views and to disagree with other fans about this. Aside from that and 10 out of 10, the rest of the album is quite good. Disco was disadvantaged from the start…being released during a lockdown when stores were shut, little promo, no tour. It’s ridiculous that you think it wasn’t. Let’s just agree to disagree because we clearly have different opinions and I don’t see the point in arguing with you over the same issues. We are all entitled to our opinions and we aren’t always going to agree on everything but we are all here because we have a genuine interest in Kylie and her music so can you just stop targeting my posts in the way that you have been with constant criticism or snide remarks.

Oh for goodness sake, anybody would think I was saying the album was a pile of crap which I’m not at all. I’m actually really disappointed. The chart run so far is extremely disappointing. We can dress it up and say yeah, it reached number 1 but it doesn’t look so good when you look at the chart run. It might be just outside the T50 next week. With no promo lined it, it will probably be out of the charts in 2-3 weeks. I can’t remember a chart run that bad since Deconstruction era.

I don’t remember there being loads of promo for disco. It was released during lockdown when stores were closed.
