  1. I’m glad confide in me was selected. While there are other no2s which could have been included like devil, confide in me is a bit different and such an underrated song.
  2. I hope you’re right. The budget offered nothing to help everyday people like myself who are working and instead people will pay more tax, higher energy bills / council tax and a below inflation pay rise cap.
  3. https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/no...re_iOSApp_Other Kylie features in this run down at no58 with confide in me. It’s her only entry in the chart. I think it should have been placed higher but nice to see it getting some recognition!

Fuel duty is also going to rise from March next year and this was not mentioned in the budget. The cost of fuel affects everything from travel to food prices. I cannot see how inflation will fall when energy bills will also rise significantly again next year. At the same time, taxes for banks are being cut and despite the windfall tax extension, many energy companies will be able to claim massive tax relief on profits for investment leaving a loophole to escape paying tax while ordinary consumers suffer with higher prices. This clearly shows the Tories are completely out of touch with the public.

Well this budget has been one of the most depressing ever. I think the worst aspect is the further increases in energy costs from April, on top of tax rises for most (freezes to income thresholds are effectively a cut). This comes at a time when food prices and mortgages have risen substantially and council tax also looks set to increase significantly from April as many LA’s just simply are running out of money. While this year, most people will have received some form of help towards their energy bills in the form of a council tax rebate and 6 monthly instalments via their energy bills, it looks like unless you are on benefits or a pensioner then you won’t be eligible for any further help from April. I’m not saying everyone should be receiving help but even people on average incomes will be severely affected by further energy price increases. That means for most people the cost of energy has effectively risen from around £2 to £3k (if you take off the average rebate people got). For many people, this will be unaffordable and I cannot see any long term plan or credible solutions being offered by this abysmal government.
  6. Yes, I read that in the Guardian today and looks like no extra support for most people unless you are on benefits. I think there will be many people who are going to struggle including businesses with rising costs of energy, food, mortgages and council tax bills. One of the main drivers of inflation is energy bill rises so I cannot see how inflation is going to fall unless the government address this!

Another good pop song. Can’t wait for the album!
  8. Not my favourite of hers but quite a credible track compared to a lot of the early stuff.
  9. I really hope so. We badly need a change. It’s just the same terrible government, with a few different faces but underneath same policies, lacking in any proper ideas and sheer incompetence. Kicking out the Tories will be the only way things will begin to improve in this country.
  10. A recent article in the Guardian sums up this Tory government well. Sunak’s government is effectively the same government with just a handful of different faces. Beneath the initial charm of Sunak lies the same incompetence and ineffective policies aimed at protecting the rich and alienating those at the bottom causing a widening in social inequalities. Just look at the decision to rehire Gavin Williamson and the mess with Suella Braverman for starters and he has only been PM for a short time.
  11. Not sure if what’s happening in the USA is that different to the UK? I mean we have had 12 years of a terrible Tory government who are right wing and pursued Brexit.
  12. Has it sold less than let’s get to it? How much has that sold? Just curious to know. IP should have done a lot better.
  13. Dangerous game should have been a single from the album. Overall, I prefer impossible princess but this album has better singles potential. It’s an album of two halves for me. Some great tracks but also not so good stuff. Love is waiting should have been on the album rather than being the Japanese bonus track but at least it appeared on the 2003 reissue.

    Great song, very catchy!
  15. Is the deluxe 20 track on iTunes available on Cd anywhere?
  16. Sounds ok. Bit of a different tempo to her usual stuff.
  17. I still haven’t bought this. Is the runner being released as a single and are there any plans to reissue the album in special formats before Christmas? A nice remix cd collection would be great.
  18. I think it’s time they reissued both of the Decon albums on CD with new content included.
  19. There was a poll in the Guardian yesterday with Labour on 42 or 44% and Tories at 28%. An improvement for the Tories yes but not sure for how long. Depends what the budget brings. If the public feel they are being penalised for the Truss administrations costly mistakes in terms of tax rises and austerity then I think the ratings will drop again. Either way - the Tories need to be held to account for 12 terrible years of governing.
  20. Given the recent reports, it doesn’t look like a new album will be coming soon if she is still in the recording studio.
  21. Sorry - Love this song but didn’t expect it to reach no1 after hung up! Take a bow - stalling at only no16. I thought it would have made T10 in the UK Deeper & deeper - Only peaking at no6. An absolute classic! Living for love - Should have easily outpeaked no26.
  22. Shell have announced record profits again at a time when the Tory government may well be looking at imposing further austerity measures and tax rises for the general public. This was a mess they created in terms of the black hole and once again the public are being expected to foot the bill rather than the companies who are part of the problem.
  23. Well I don’t want to hear vile language when I’m listening to a CD. It was never done in the 80s when some of the best music around was ever released and it’s not nice to hear and completely ruins a good song.
  24. Just out of interest. Does the Cd contain explicit lyrics? I hate swearing in songs and there is just no need for it so won’t support this otherwise. I know there is a clean digital version but I only buy physicals.
