Two bouncers were injured when gunshots rang out during Kanye West's Birmingham gig last night (February 28). well i dont know, i have my theory why urban is bigger in the USA. Becuase 'black' people have been an integral part of US society for 10 or 12 generations. so , even though there is still racism in some areas, there is not as much segregation, it is no big deal in the USA to have black senators, etc... also, there is a much stronger US identity, minority groups in the USA are encouraged to 'feel' AMERICAN and are proud to be 'AMERICAN'... but here, black people in the main have only been here (in any large number) since the 50's, and therefore our cultural influences are only on the 'fringe' still. In time it will change in 100 years time according to gov.t statistics there will be less than 50% white in the UK. so things will improve here. But right now, there is no strong encouragement to 'feel' british. Most black people dont identify with being british coz we are made to feel ostracised, as if the UK is doing us a favour by having us here. It will change.
