Oasis Album Chart Runs
Oasis - Dig out your soul 1-2-7-10 (308,000) sales so far

Albums
CATFIGHTS AND SPOTLIGHTS #8 week 1 : 23,123 #26 Week2 : 10,270 Total sales : 33,393 Not too good at all... it is early days but the 2nd single will be very cruical ... if this album can redeem it's poor sales. It will probably struggle to do more than 100,000 by the end of the year... going by these 2 weeks sales trend.

Chart Commentary by gooddelta: Sun 2/11/08
I don't think Girls aloud are guarenteed #1 this week in the albums... Pink will have strong second week sales. Girls aloud are not exactly a big Album sellers... Razorlight could also go to #1 but for the fact that so many bands (keane,Kaiser chiefs,) have underperformed i think Razorlight will too.

The making of 'The Libertines'

Girls Aloud - The Promise
They have done ok like i said before ... but they are no way up their with the biggest ;) . I really dont know why they don't shift more albums though? they are great looking ;), they have catchy tunes, Amazing promotion, they always appear on TV shows etc .. but they still haven't taken it to that higher level. In terms of overall sales :s Maybe this album will be the one that goes that little bit further ???... they have got off to a good start so far with a #1 single that has been recieved pretty well amongst the public.

Albums: Deluxe Editions
if it's Oasis then yes .. as i own virtually all their albums etc. But another act nah depends.. if its out at the same time then maybe.. but if it's a great difference in price then i would leave it.

Girls Aloud - The Promise
I hear what your saying mate and i think your a cool poster ;) and i don't want to provoke an argument here. I just think that we have to look at the facts, and from what i have seen based on their chart runs etc,.. their albums shift a good amount through the christmas period, and then they drop out of top75... SO you can clearly conclude that their album sales are skewed., It's a smart move by their record label i give you that... but i just can't help but say that Girls aloud are no way as successful as people like to think on here ;) . by saying they are the biggest girl band blah blah blah NONSENSE,,

The Shock of the lightning Climbs in the USA
up 1 ! this week ;)

Girls Aloud - The Promise
you see i would rather have an album shift 200k first week and look good for the years end chart. Then just have a big single! albums are what makes an artist have credible status not singles... but then Oasis too have sold more than enough singles to not worry about future sales.. they have cemented their selfs as a band that will always be succesful... and they have become i would say the new Rolling stones of our generation they sell out massive tours, there general music sales are not as high as before, yet still they shift a million albums on average per release since their mid 90's... which is only what GA could only dream of doing.
-
Girls Aloud - The Promise
My sentiments exactly... People fly off the rails on this board and give GA far too much credit. People class them as the biggest girl band since spice girls and even more. Erm they only really shift singles you only have too look at their album sales and chart run. Their albums are always released around the chrismas period. And they shift on average i would say 300k per album. Now if people think that is great then they should get a life, seriously!. god knows what there sales would be without the christmas boost!! Their biggest album was a greatest hits, they have to go on TV shows to secure a decent amount of first week sales. I tell you what i would love to see GA release an album in a different time frame of the year... I really do think they would only shift half they do now.

Girls Aloud - The Promise
i take your challenge ... top 3 for next Oasis single.
-
Girls Aloud - The Promise
i don't believe your right mate ;) Last album don't believe the truth got a massive boost from their 2nd single "the importance of being idle," and heathen chemistry back in 2002 sold mostly coz of the big hits of 2nd and 3rd single "stop crying your heart out," and "little by little."

The latest news section
