I'm disappointed, it's no Someone Like You for me. Maybe it's a grower, but too much repetition and shouty singing, and too much trying to be a new Someone like you. It will of course, still be a smash hit.

I find this argument odd. When artists have fans, they anticipate the music coming out, and scour the internet and so forth. The problem is, Leona has lost her fans, and I agree with Truly Talented, in that she hasn't given them enough to keep them interested, and the tour ticket costs are another kick in the teeth for the few that are left. The reason Will has done relatively so much better than her after a 4 year break is that he has retained that loyal fanbase. Also, of course, he puts out good albums, which helps. Having said that, I thought Fire under my Feet was a sure hit when I first heard a short snippet, but the actual recorded song was a let down, and I Am is just boring. Neither is going to make many people go out and buy her album.

To be honest, I have always preferred songs on his albums far more than his single releases. The exception is Jealousy. Such a shame he is so ignored by radio with the exception of radio 2. He deserves to have his music heard after fighting prejudice to maintain his career successfully after coming from 'one of those shows'.

Thanks, do you know how many years ago, I suspect LRN has continued to trickle sale pretty steadily over the years. I think sales were physical only in the LRN era too, but can't remember now?

Can't find BD, hope it's ok to pop in :) . I think you are right Julie, I think Will is exhausted, he's had a pretty manic time of promoting since the ITV special. No doubt he is also disillusioned with the whole 'Voice' thing. I hope he has a good long break and clears his head. I'd rather he did that than decide to pack it in altogether, and after the Voice debacle, it wouldn't have suprised me. I'm sure his 'team' know him well enough now and allow him these away times. They wouldn't want to lose him, and neither would any of us fans. It was quite scarey when he said in a recent interview, that he nearly walked away from it all after Keep On came out :o That is unimaginable. Can't wait until June and the summer concerts!

I think you are right, I can hardly see Matt releasing 2 covers albums in quick succession after performing on a 2nd rate reality show. I think he is more principled than that. Starlight has had great airplay on radio 2, I would have thought this would have boosted his album at least. Anyone know?

Will Young's new single is out today, not that anyone would know other than dedicated fans. I can't even find it on itunes? I wish his record company would support his singles more, especially after the success of Jealousy, surely they can see a good charting for a single brings up album sales too! It's ok, found it now, bought the remix and beatless versions, which are great. His voice is to die for.

Thanks for the responses. Some people have nothing better to do with their time other than gloat over the demise (or predicted demise) of others. Very sad! Bit broke at the moment, so may get the album at a later date.

Why is the an 80k figure kicking around this thread. I'm sure it says somewhere, is this just a hope, or a prediction based on pre-sales. If the latter, then that's pretty good, if not exactly jaw dropping, for Matt. I need to hear some tracks before committing. Is it going on Amazon download for £3.99 like most of their top new releases do?

With respect, please give it a rest torresgirl, your perpetual defending of Joe's covers albums at the expense of other artists is getting annoying in the extreme :rolleyes: I hope Matt does go on to do well. I don't think he will set the music world alight, but good for him for releasing his own music. Shame about the single, Gary Barlow by numbers track. I guess he was coerced into releasing that!
