The relationship between radio one and Will seems to have taken a nosedive. Scott Mills particularly has expressed his dislike on his show  Maybe he got turned down! What are the other contenders for no. 1 that week ? I Kissed a Girl?

James has to crack the 'second album' thing - Will is on his 4th. I think that points to a loyal fanbase?? The jury is out as far as James in concerned. He alienated a few round here when he cancelled a tour at the last minute in order to work on the album  Radio one are obviousy going to champion James, and I expect radio 2 will also A list him. He manages to be both 'cool' and 'coffee table'. I hope Will does it though, I think he deserves it and the new album sounds like it's going to be his best yet.

He's going head to head with James Morrison album release date :o

Oh, I don't think his fans have gone - and it's great he's getting so much support from the commercial stations and radio 2 :yahoo: Radio one though???? Seem to be ignoring him. I suppose he's not 'cool' enough for them  It's a great single, and as long as it sells the album who cares where it charts :D
  5. Did he not have a live band then? Did he really have to have a tape of his higher notes? Did he really have to use covers of other people's stuff to get the crowd going? I still think this guy is being short changed in terms of the material he has been given. I was hoping for better from him TBH. anyway - I'm sure the fans are loving the show, and good luck to them, and to Shayne himself :D
  6. I can't understand a word she's singing <_< Awful song. I did hear a song I really liked, but can't remember what it was called - she's not released it at all.
  7. Really fantastic news - I'm sure he'll go down a storm :cheer:

I don't think DOI is doing Gareth many favours TBH. He comes across as somewhat arrogant, short tempered and harps on constantly about Chris and Suzanne having an advantage either on ice, or with dancing. It comes across badly. He has his own advantage in probably having more voting fans from the right age range than the other two. Good luck to him anyway, he's doing really well. I think Shayne does have a good voice, and he also has a more acceptable 'image' compared to Gareth, as a pop star, anyway. His album hasn't sold that badly, so I'm confused why his record company have sort of abandoned it already???

If I was a Shayne fan I'd be fuming. He's been treated very shabbily by SBMG and by the radio stations, totally sidelined in favour of Leona by the X factor programme as well. He should have released a good first single, rather than the cr*p song he did release which made a mockery of him and confirmed people's music snobbishness towards him. I suppose if he had what it takes, he would have known it was an awful song, and he would have put his foot down. Who knows, he may come up with the goods yet??? How's his tour selling?

Beautiful Will - he was like a pool of fresh water in the midst of a pile of ****

It's so exciting when someone discovers Will for the first time :D . Thanks for posting Tyler - he now has 100's of tracks, all diverse - not all recorded, not officially anyway. Jazzy. bluesy, soully, pop-py, funky, quirky - all sorts of stuff. I love the selection you've listed too! FM

There are a few albums I'm really looking forward to, but I really can't wait for Will's 4th album :cheer: . Well, I'm assuming it's out this year, SBMG are keeping it quiet so far

Has no new single been announced yet? It's been ages since the last one - are they just releasing two? It doesn't make sense???
  14. Greatnews - the song is fantastic - love it :D Now bring on the album Will!
  15. I really like Will's first album. There are some great songs on it - Over You, Fine Line, From Now On - I still play it from time to time. I agree, though, his second and third albums are better. Can't wait for the 4th - roll on 2008! Thanks for the info jester - interesting stats!
  16. If Leon fails to make no 1 could it signal the end of the X factor take over of Christmas no. 1's? Could it mean the end of X factor? Could it be I'm trying to live my dream?
  17. Sorry - not posted for ages  . What a great comment about Will - the longer he's away, the more people miss him and say nice things
  18. Modesty isn't their strong point then ;)
  19. Wow - that's a great list. Will is always doing something, but he doesn't get much publicity. I suppose 'pop stars' who are out of the limelight often seem to have disappeared forever - but most of those with quality - including Dido - when they come back, they seem to have kept their fanbase. I hope Will has since the last album.
  20. Is it just me, or is there an 'Emperors New Clothes' surreal feel to the whole level of hype around Leona  Have heard the album, some good tracks, some poor - Bleeding Love - a good track - but honestly, anyone would think she was the second coming the way she's being bigged up by the media, DJs etc. Is she really that special? <_<
  21. Errrr, what do you have to do to d/l the album for free then? Can someone talk me through the process [blushes with embarrassment]

Prize to Ashley for keeping so polite and retaining a sense of humour under extreme provocation ;) :P I'm just glad a certain X factor judge prone to boasting about a future no. 1 is shown up to be the total cretin he is - and all the ridiculous lengths gone to to get a no. 1 have ultimately failed  .

I like his voice, but I think he's cashed in on too many cover versions over the years. He needs to come up with good original material to keep the interest up. He seems to have loyal fans who turn up to his concerts though, so maybe he's happy with that?

I don't think it's a ballad exactly, but it doesn't 'grab' which surprises me, after all the build up <_< It's OK - not a disgrace or anything - but not spectacular - which I was expecting, given the huge names said to be involved in her new stuff. Good luck to her anyway!
  25. I so hope the 'critics' who find out about Will's gig don't go down the 'Ronnie's sold out to pop' line  . For me, Will has always been a jazz singer - since hearing his big band no. on Pop Idol.
