  1. Whoops, I meant it the other way obviously. Actually, not that easy to go from Disco 2000 to Something Changed, as Something Changed should never have been a single. Oh well.

The Simpsons started to go downhill sharply from about series 9 onwards, but the early episodes cannot be beaten. Family Guy is really poor nowadays. I really liked King of the Hill back in the day. South Park had its moments and American Dad and Futurama were both good if slightly inferior to their more famous siblings. Ren n Stimpy anyone?
  3. Chelsea have nothing to play for, do they? They're more likely to slip up against Sunderland, perennial relegation escapees at the last gasp and there again, this weekend.

The Fisher Price car park was practically standard issue. I really, really wanted the "record player" they did though - my mate had one and I was fascinated by it. I guess if I'd want to bring one back it'd be Subbuteo. Yes, I know they still do it, but you used to be able to get practically every team in the world and hundreds of accessories at one time.
  5. That Positiva sleeve was a warning sign in the 90s!
  6. Found it very hard to get 40 tracks together so a few at the end I've never heard but preferred the names of. Rather than vote for some I've heard and really don't like. Also, somebody has to vote for the five I nominated! 1 Rozi Plain - Actually 2 Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Do The Get Down 3 Hooton Tennis Club - Kathleen Sat On The Arm Of Her Favourite Chair 4 Calexico - Cumbia de Donde 5 Blanck Mass - Dead Format 6 Belle & Sebastian - Nobody's Empire 7 New Order - Singularity 8 Blur - Lonesome Street 9 Wolf Alice - Giant Peach 10 Chemical Brothers feat. Q-Tip - Go 11 Courtney Barnett - Pedestrian At Best 12 David Bowie - Lazarus 13 C Duncan - Garden 14 Deerhunter - Snakeskin 15 Wolf Alice - You're A Germ 16 David Bowie - Blackstar 17 De Lux - Oh Man The Future 18 David Bowie - 'Tis A Pity She Was A Whore 19 Courtney Barnett - Dead Fox 20 Bjork - Blacklake 21 Everything Everything - Regret 22 Beck - Dreams 23 Wolf Alice - Silk 24 Sufjan Stevens - Fourth of July 25 Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-Love 26 Foals - Mountian At My Gates 27 Kurt Vile - Pretty Pimpin 28 Best Coast - Heaven Sent 29 Of Monsters And Men - Crystals 30 Sufjan Stevens - Should Have Known Better 31 Foals - What Went Down 32 Purity Ring - Begin Again 33 Susanne Sundfør - Delirious 34 Neon Indian - Slumlord 35 Animal Collective - FloriDada 36 Birdeatsbaby - Tenterhooks 37 Christine & The Queens feat. Perfume Genius - Jonathan 38 Destroyer - Dream Lover 39 Eagles Of Death Metal - Complexity 40 Viet Cong - Continental Shelf
  7. Doesn't matter too much then. Was Dannii really furthering the cause of trampolines though?
  8. Aqua did the reverse then? They had two novelty tracks and then one which was (at least meant to be taken) serious.

'Hooked on Classics' is the worst one yet - absolutely pointless and no redeeming quality at all...not even Legs & Co's strange routine.
  10. What would have been on the list instead of Dannii?
  11. Pulp - Sorted for E's and Whiz to Disco 2000

Kinda defeats the point then though? I don't use google for the family fortunes quizzes. Soz, but I'm sure you'll get lots of entries.

Did they just decide to put all the medley tracks together on one show to get them out of the way? What a load of rubbish they were - a constant thudding beat with snippets of old songs covered badly crashing into each other laid on top...and we didn't learn, happily ushering in Jive Bunny years later. The Specials really did stick out amongst them all.

Will give this one a miss as I've only heard of three of those actors.
  15. Cheers - 4th equal is my best ever on BJ.
  16. Free from Desire Mind incest is purely thigh? The rest is definitely about trampolines though. Guessing we'll be having a similar debate about the (rubbish) Wamdue Project and their tribute to trestle tables.
  17. I like What You Talking About? First thing I've heard from these three since Young Folks.

Anyone know of any way to get Netflix programmes without subscribing to it? I'd quite happily just buy Black Mirror only from them but don't want to end up locked into anything. Also, I've a crap web connection so this really is a shitty precedent.
  19. Except for Lana!
  20. Then it's less likely for those songs to feature in a compiled chart - but I think some album tracks are much better than the 'lead' tracks as they now call them. B-sides and remixes should be eligible too but it's up to you.
  21. Yes. No such thing as a single these days.

Great to finally have Yellow Pearl as the theme. It's a shame there are so many Yewtreed episodes in 1981 as its difficult to keep up with the charts. Kate Robbins was no.3 one week and mid-20s the next!
  23. I only buy MP3s if its an artist who (bizarrely) can't seem to get on Spotify. Usually that's through Bandcamp so more money goes to the artist. Otherwise I buy records from merchandise stalls at gigs. Can't remember the last time I bought a CD in a shop and it's been at least ten years since I bought anything on a major label. Until I got a Premium account with Spotify I used to "try before I bought" quite a lot through various means. If I really liked an album ahead of release I would go buy it on LP when it came out, but then Aberdeen's record shop closed. Another has opened since, but I've also moved out to the Shire so streaming (even with our crap rural connection) is the way to go.
  24. That's what's strange - I don't really know what is mainstream any more!
  25. By the way - trust the NME to put an album by The Verve in their end of year list....
