Animal Collective "Painting With"
Their best thing since Strawberry Jam I reckon. Not bad.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Son of a Gun was a pretty solid dance tune, much better than the soft pap of The Original. Amazing that Jake Williams (JX) was only 16 when it was first released in 1993. Also seem to remember that Felix's Don't You Want Me was much weaker than the original 1992 release.

Lots of recent rubbish to choose from - I went for Lilo & Stitch.

Er...you got rid of Big Hero 6 this early?

The Night Before
Don't hold a lot of hope for the rest of the film then!

Strictly Come Dancing 2015
They actually said on It Takes Two last week that Helen had the highest overall score of all the couples so far so not sure it was past performance. The judges shot themselves in the foot I think. They all docked a mark for her wobble at the end and that put her way down. In terms of entertainment and difficulty the Les Mis routines was miles ahead of Katie and Anton for instance. Anyway, the programme has been running out of steam for some time and it's probably not got too long left.

When will the Spotify boom happen?
Yeah, it'd be nice if Spotify gave loyal customers three months at 99p but it's still a great deal. I stream stuff all day long and definitely get my money's worth out of a tenner. When I was a kid you had to either buy a record, tape or (if you were feeling flush) a CD to even hear something. That or go to the library. MP3s are practically dead now for me apart from for ye olde stuff by bands who aren't really around to get them on to Spotify (e.g. I looked for both Birdland and The Family Cat this morning but couldn't find either - found The Popguns, Cud, Galaxie 500 and a load of others though). I'm just very happy that there's a reasonably fair system out there which lets you pay for instant access to music now. There wasn't back when Napster started, and it was just too tempting to use it. I still buy records directly from bands at gigs, that way I feel I'm giving them some real money right into their hands (also having paid to attend the gig). As for big acts giving exclusives to certain streaming services only - screw them. Their music sucks anyway.

Top of the Pops on BBC4
That's much too early...and annoying as we will be out. Think I'll tape it and watch it on the 23rd or some time closer to Christmas! I was wondering a bit whether John Lennon would even be mentioned on the show - when Starting Over was at 21 on the rundown they didn't seem to even acknowledge it. But then it all went dark (or grey in the case of Richard Skinner) at the end. Not sure if a lot of it had already been recorded before the news came through? At least no Abba at number one next week...

Least Favorite Disney Animated Classic Round 8
Crazy that the Aristocats has gone - the scene with the dogs in on the motorcycle is one of the funniest things in Disney history and 'Everybody Wants to be a Cat' is one of the best songs. Also can't imagine how anyone could vote for Alice in Wonderland at this stage with so much 90s and 00s tat in there - or Robin Hood come to that, but I remember that coming out on VHS when I was about 8 so I've a lot of love for it.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Wasn't massively bothered by Baby D but there was a certain level of quality in their work which was a nice break from the mid-90s cheese.

Top 100 Best Selling December Hits
He was removed from re-showings of the video on satellite channels. I think they just went for an extended version of March of the Mods - which is the bit we all like in that record anyway.

The Peanuts Movie
Looks excellent and faithful to the 60s cartoons. Not sure why they've gone with The Who on the trailer, surely the Vince Guaraldi Trio instead? Definitely going to be watching this.

Buzzjack's Sports Personality of The Year 2015 Voting
Good choices - glad there's no Tyson Fury in there. 1. Mo Farah (greatest male athlete in the world right now bar Bolt no matter what the crappy papers have assumed about him) 2. Jess Ennis-Hill (an amazing return) 3. Max Whitlock (was really pleased to see him nominated - GBR are doing brilliantly in gymnastics right now)

Least Favorite Disney Animated Classic Round 7
When you put "when I see an elephant fly" there, I thought Dumbo had had an early exit! Frozen and Beauty and the Beast for me (nobody else will agree with this).

1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 11
Ha ha! No, their dominance in the latter half is one reason why I found it pretty difficult to get even my shortlist over 50!

Official Chart Christmas Quiz
Just 14 - caught out by a few tricks and some of the more recent things. Bing Crosby's White Christmas is technically a bigger seller than Wham! though isn't it? It's just it sold most copies before the charts began so they're not really counted?

1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 11
It was a superb decade - nearly all my favourite songs come from it. They just tended to be further down the chart. I think I had a bit of trouble doing a top 50 of the 80s and 70s chart toppers too.

Found it! 1st October 1981 with Mike Read as host! Hooray for the UKIP fascist!

Top of the Pops on BBC4
That's interesting. 1981 was the year I first saw Top of the Pops. The episode I saw definitely had Adam and the Ants at number one with Prince Charmng and quite possibly had Ottawan doing Hands Up and The Tweets doing their Birdie Song. Anyone know if that episode has been Yewtreed?

Christmas Chart 2015
Heh heh, I'm sure I could listen to Slade, Mike Oldfield, Johnny Mathis, Greg Lake and Jona Lewie ten times a day until Christmas. The campaign (and the madness) starts here!

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Yeah, not sure who first started the two CD single deal. A few indie bands before then had done gatefold CDs with one CD available one week and the second the next - Thousand Yard Stare, Inspiral Carpets and The Wonder Stuff spring to mind. But I can't remember anyone putting two out in the same week until Blur with Country House (or indeed three in one week in 1996 from Rocket From The Crypt's On a Rope) Anyway, that's way off topic for dance. Let's hope the next entry in the countdown is a goodie :)

Top of the Pops on BBC4
Was looking at the chart run down and couldn't understand why Lennon fell the week after he died...then, of course, they couldn't get the records out into the shops in time until the following week.
