1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 3
Not a massive fan of the winner but at least it wasn't Aerosmith or Robbie Williams.

1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 5
Missed this one, but I don't think I'd have voted for any of the other contenders and the DiVinyls is a good one hit wonder representative. My no.1 pick would have been Gary Clail with 808 State and the JAMMs close behind.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
As a Sunderland fan, that's quite typical - even our chart campaigns are unsuccessful!
-
Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Congratulations - that's the first time D:Ream have been mentioned in five years without some reference to Brian Cox.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Ah well, there's one decent act that came out of the Production House stable who are guaranteed a number one in 1994...but there's also a song ruined by future association, a singing bathroom salesman and some dreadful bouncy Charleston-house from Holland... ...and I have the latter on 7"

will we ever get another million seller without streaming?
No idea how much you get per stream but I would imagine some animals are more equal than others.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Hopefully at least one record by The Prodigy but otherwise it'll be pretty poor I reckon.

Mercury Prize 2015
Would love to see C Duncan win it - great wee album. Or for Aphex Twin to pick it up after such a long time at it. Ghostpoet would be cool too. But it'll be something I don't really get like Jamie XX or SOAK. Didn't think a great deal of the Wolf Alice album. One or two decent songs but their sound has been horribly diluted since their early EPs.

1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 3
Not sure what source was used, but the version that got to number 4 was America: What Time is Love? released in early 1992 and very different to the previous releases. The most popular mix made number 5 in 1990 and is practically guaranteed my top spot. Could end up with KLF at 5 and 4 in the final 40 with different versions of the same song.

Top of the Pops on BBC4
Interesting - did Madness play on the record or were they just larking about with Feargal on that episode of TOTP? Doesn't sound very Madness-ish.

1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 1
I hate Wake Up Boo! even though I love all pretty much every other Boo Radleys record. I'm astounded that Ride would have had zero points but for my 30. I think I'm going to find myself agreeing much less with the choices in this rate than in the 80s and 70s ones. Still, one good record out of one so far (even if it was a re-release).

POPCORN
Salted - anything else is disgusting.

Stephen Fry leaves QI
That's quite interesting. Sandi Toksvig is a great choice though - she's practically the female Stephen Fry.
-
1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 2
Heh, no worries - was just checking!
-
1990s Top 40 Rate - Part 1
Heh, that's not too surprising really. Like most indie acts, they went in at their highest position in week one, stayed for another week and then left. And I also wore trainers in the 90s! Well, mostly.

When will the chart be revived?!
The chart is extremely boring now and has been for years. Songs hang around forever, multiple songs by the same artist bob up and down and everybody 'features' on everybody else's tracks. Practically no chance for anyone to breakthrough, let alone get to number one.

Mercury Prize 2015
Yep, New Order's comeback was 100 times better than Blur's.
