It Was Alright in the....
There was also Steve Strange on Crackerjack including Stu Francis doing a really weird intro. I still have a soft spot for Little and Large - it was a real shame to see them doing a sketch like that as late as 1989. 1979 I could just about let pass, but as late as that?

Secret in Their Eyes
Not sure why a remake is required. I really liked the Argentinian original.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
I'll look forward to a few treats! I'm just a grumpy git anyway - it pretty much follows the fact I went right off dance music in 1993 and became far more indie.

The hardcore championship was silly but fun! I think Crash Holly went mad, always expecting someone to be round the next corner with a referee waiting to pin him.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Ha! Yes indeed, good point. Loved the Heaven 17 mix - nice to see we're still getting good number ones as we approach the end of 1992. I suspect this thread will be generally more full of badness than goodness as the decade moves on!

I didn't even see Candi Staton. I would have put her in my 50 but I doubt it'd make any difference so will just leave it.

England's Greatest Ever Attacker
Gary Lineker for me for scoring goals when it really mattered. ...and if stats don't lie then Jimmy Greaves would easily beat Wayne Rooney.

Indeed! "Divas" might be easier on the eye than some of the women who competed 50 years ago, but it's still effectively the same title. I guess Ric Flair's title reigns would be split too though if you split Cena's. In that sense, he is actually legitimately the record holder as he won ALL his belts within the WWWF/WWF/WWE. That said, belts didn't change hands very readily in the old days and I think days as belt holder should be counted as the main yardstick. 15 times champ in 10 years just means you're rubbish at defending it!

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
I think Boss Drum is still pretty poppy - the main hook certainly is. Might have been the lack of a female vocal in there as it's certainly less pop than LSI or Phorever People. Interesting reading that Destination Eschaton was originally released only on the web as I do remember going to an Internet café in Edinburgh in the summer of 1995 and being amazed that I could play music on a PC from a remote location and listen to it through headphones...and, indeed, it was that track and associated remixes.

30 Years of CBBC
Same here, I was 8 when the first broom cupboard broadcast went out. Anyone remember any of these from the really early days? Beat the Teacher Grange Hill with the original theme tune and "sausage" titles Bad Boyes Uncle Jack Jossy's Giants Dogtanian and the Three Muskahounds The Mysterious Cities of Gold Fonz and the Happy Days Gang Alfonso Bonzo and Billy Webb Being a big kid, I still tune in for Hacker Time and Horrible Histories - two of the funniest programmes on TV.

I thought Fabulous Moolah held the women's record? Something like 50 years as title holder?

I didn't realise at the time that Rage had covered Bryan Adams...but I didn't like it very much, so I guess I should have realised!

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
I remember very well an interview with Altern 8 in Select where they were in the studio they shared with Bizarre Inc. Mark Archer loaded up their DAT (I assume) and listened back then the two of them laughed themselves silly as "Bizarre Inc. had gone garage". Wasn't a huge fan - a real toning down from Playing with Knives, but it wasn't completely awful.
-
Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Worth pointing out that Jerry Sadowitz played the titular character in the video for any fans of foul-mouthed Scottish comedy (or magic for that matter). Yeah, it was a really aggressive release schedule - Boss Drum and Phorever People were both out really quickly. Not sure the releases of Re:Evolution and Comin' On were needed!

Top 30 Best Selling Progressive Artists Of The 21st Century
How odd! I thought Prog Rock was eaten by Johnny Rotten in 1976. I wonder what sub-genres (official or unofficial) make up the prog chart then? There's a world of difference between Supertramp and Mogwai, yet there they are sitting side by side.
