  1. No. You need to read the thread properly.
  2. I don’t have any “faves”, but I’m not buying that you’re not a Taylor fan at all. Otherwise, you’d also be calling out the people who had an irrational response to me merely posting that 30 has been getting amazing reviews. You don’t think that’s odd? And yet, you seem to have an obsession with calling me the hater. This site has changed a lot since I first joined. You used to be able to have a much more mature discussion about stuff in here than other forums. Not anymore!
  3. See how they deflect, people? Erratic and not to be trusted. Take everything they say with a pinch of salt. It seems this forum has been infested by Taylor fans who have an irrational hatred towards Adele. Be aware.
  4. Also to everyone reading this thread and seeing some of those bitter comments, click on their profiles and look at their post history. They are unsurprisingly all Taylor Swift fans. Now, I don’t know about you but it definitely seems Adele has made Swift fans terribly upset for some reason. Very strange and erratic behaviour to say the least.
  5. Have you seen some of the comments in here as a reaction to me merely mentioning the fact 30 got good reviews? Bitter bitter bitter.
  6. According to the reviews, there’s a song called OMG which is the RITD of 30. I’ll probably compile a list of all the best things I’ve read from the reviews, because it really deserves some attention. One reviewer calling it AOTY and one of the best albums they’ve ever heard might just be a fluke, but when review after review is similarly positive, it seems Adele really might be onto something with 30. It will almost definitely sell less than 21 and 25 due to the state of the market, but I’m sure what Adele wanted more than anything at this point in her career is to show evolution as an artist and it seems she’s done that. Really excited to hear the album now!
  7. Sorry, should have said for a newly released album and not for a re-recording of a nearly decade old album. My apologies lol. What’s wrong with some of you? Some of you seem really bitter to say the least…
  8. Metacritic scores for Adele: 19: 68 21: 76 25: 75 30: 90 (so far) Nearly every review is saying it’s her best album yet. She should be proud of herself because these are honestly some of the best reviews I’ve read in a while for any album.
  9. Album up to 90 on metacritic! Unbelievable!
  10. Indeed. The Telegraph compared it to Tapestry and the reviewer for The Sun said it was one of the best albums they’ve ever heard. It’s very good press leading up to the album release.
  11. The reviews so far from the British press are insanely good which should help give it a little nudge.

    Yeah, I prefer vodka.

You just hate her. Stop. :P

On Billboard now, you have a situation in which 60% of the #1 singles have never been heard by 90% of the American public, because of artists doing bundles, signed CD’s, multiple versions, and the list goes on. It’s not healthy for the industry as a whole and that’s where the UK charts are headed and have been headed for quite some time. Luckily, the UK charts have stricter regulations such as not mindlessly combining multiple versions of the same song, but it’s still not good enough.

Little Mix don’t have the power to announce new signed singles and albums at low price mid-week after looking at the chart update, like Taylor does. All the time. I would love to see how some people defending this would react to Adele wielding her even more immense power and doing the same thing. I don’t think they’d react too kindly to it, because they know instinctually it’s wrong and unfair.

But Little Mix for instance can’t afford to sell them at such a low price like Taylor.

That’s one of my main issues with it as well. If you have a few powerful businesses/artists wielding immense power and exploiting their resources, you’re going to obviously get a two tier, oligopolistic system in any industry.

Ultimately, charts are supposed to represent popularity. 1000 fans buying 5 copies (5,000 sales) is not as good as 5,000 people buying 1 copy (5,000 sales). There should be rules to ensure that *actual* popularity is rewarded. Otherwise, the charts mean nothing and they lose any credibility they have left.

And are people actually believe that Taylor sits down and spends hours personally signing these things? How utterly gullible can you be.

I don’t get why these artists don’t start playing Taylor at her own game. Just start releasing thousands of signed CD’s and singles, sell them at cost price, and see how she likes it. I can’t really say Taylor is in the wrong because it’s in the rules, but very few artists resort to these stunts to the extent Taylor does on a consistent basis. She clearly has an advantage being a bigger artist and therefore having the power and budget to do this kind of stuff, which means other artists who can’t afford to do it suffer as a result.

Imagine the level of irony it takes as a Taylor fan to accuse another artist for releasing too many versions of a song or album. I just have to laugh at this point.

Having just heard the 3 new songs, I think IDW would go down a treat in the UK but I think the US would much prefer Hold On. They’re all great though and unlike anything I’ve ever heard her do.
  23. It’s a Monday, which means yesterday was Sunday. EOM never does well on weekends. It should climb throughout the rest of the week and comfortably remain #1.
  24. I’m increasing my expectations slightly considering 30 just jumped to #1 on Amazon and the vinyl jumped to #14 (from #22) after a performance... in the US? What’s that all about.

Even if we take everything into account and combine them, I think it will still struggle to make the top 3 by the end of the week.
