Friday Chart Predictions
You have to take into account that ATW isn’t doing much on Apple Music UK or Amazon Music, so even if the versions were combined, I doubt it would make the top 5.

1000 sale lead for EOM is quite substantial considering it’s been behind at this point in the past 2 Sunday updates.

The OCC has precedent for not combining two versions of the same song. Especially when said songs are part of the very same album. Billboard should follow suit but they inevitably won’t.

You seriously need to grow up. Nothing I have said is troll-worthy. If anything, you’re the one behaving like a troll. Now go bother someone else with your ample immaturity.

The UK charts showing integrity once again, thankfully.

I’m not mad, promise. Just pointing out something no one else has.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Bitter and losing the plot for pointing out a fact that no one else dares to in case they’re bombarded by Taylor fans? I can take the blows, it’s fine. Keep them coming, Taylor fans.

You were being purposely dense with your posts though. I didn’t call you a dense person, just your arguments.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Only time will tell, of course. But I think we are starting to see a trend of popular artists putting as many songs on an album as feasible to increase streaming numbers. I think I’m more disappointed in Taylor than anything. She’s so above doing something like that, but she clearly feels the pressure to maintain this aura of supremacy whenever she releases music. How many songs do you think her next TV will have? I’m betting more than 30, so she can beat this record. Because unless Adele releases an album with 20+ songs, I can’t see any other female breaking this one day female record in the near future. Maybe Olivia Rodrigo (doesn’t she have the one week record with just 11 songs?), but I’d hope she’s above putting so many songs on an album in order to do it because it’s really not that serious. I need these artists to realise that longevity and having a solid piece of cohesive work is more important than short-term streaming records. I blame their record labels for being so damn greedy.

Get used to it, because that’s seemingly going to be the future of all music.

Do you know how to calculate averages?

Again, my statement is a fact based on statistical evidence. Your entire post here is conjecture.

No, I’m making a statement based on the statistical evidence we have. You’re the one making an assumption, my friend.

Other artists will though because they see the success she is having doing so. I’m telling you, in 10 years it will be the norm for artists to release albums with 50 songs. We are already up to 30.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
But a hugely successful artist like Taylor putting out an album with 30 songs is setting a precedent and other big stars will follow suit. She is a trend-setter and she has a lot of power. Her putting out an album with 30 songs is beneath her.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Well actually, it is a statement backed up by the statistics we have. Your statement is conjecture.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
In a few years, putting albums out with 50 songs to break streaming records will be the norm. And that to me will be devastating to the quality of albums and music in general.

The fact they have a Taylor video in their sig is an indication.

Ah, the old trick of calling anyone who dares to so much as question the supremacy of your favourite artist a troll. Grow up.

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
The fact is, if Red had the same amount of songs as Folklore (which was an actual album with a cohesive set of songs), then it wouldn’t have broken the record. The only reason it broke the record is because it has 30 songs. That is a statement backed up by statistical evidence and it isn’t debatable. The question is if you have a problem with that, and I do. I find it to be detrimental to the industry and the quality of music and albums in general. If you don’t have a problem with it, then we are never going to agree on this but you are entitled to your opinion.
-
Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
Well yes. That’s why Folklore broke the record with just 16 songs. Her being a big artist isn’t what I’m discussing here.

I never said it wasn’t. I was just explaining to you that this is what happens when you release an “album” with 2 versions of the same song. It’s nothing to do with the song per se. But obviously if people are playing an album from front to back, the combined streams for the song are obviously going to be higher if there are 2 versions.
