I’m seeing that it’s performing very well in the US based on projections. It’s also had a very small drop in the US on Spotify and she’s still dominating AM. The narrative being pushed by some that this is an underperformance doesn’t really stand up when you actually look at the statistics. BMS is also expected to go to #1 on BB100 next week, so she’ll be #1 on both BB100 and BB200 simultaneously, 25 years into her career. Like, let’s give credit where credit is due here. I’m not the biggest fan of Beyoncé but I still think what she’s doing is very impressive.

It’s not bad and it’s exactly what I was expecting. I don’t know why some of you expected Bey to be dominating a platform like Spotify when she is a 40 year old black woman 25 years into her career. It doesn’t help that she has all but abandoned streaming for the past decade. It’s genuinely impressive that she’s still able to compete with the young artists of today in the way that she is doing. I also think this album is going to serve longevity based on the songs I’ve heard. Alien Superstar sounds great and I can definitely see that becoming a hit.

I wouldn’t say these numbers are disappointing for Beyoncé. She’s a 40 year old woman 25 years into her career. I think they’re very impressive. Better than I was expecting, anyway. I think BMS can get to #2 on the charts this week which would be a nice peak.

I’m the opposite. I wasn’t expecting her to be performing quite as well globally as she is. This is a woman 25 years into her career and I cannot name one of her peers from that era doing these numbers. She’s an anomaly in the way that Madonna is and was. This era is proving to me that Beyoncé is going to be around for as long as she wants to be. I think what’s most interesting about BMS is its stability and its potential. The video will only serve to elevate a song like this and I think it has the potential to go massively viral on tiktok. My instinct tells me it’s going to be a definite #1 in the UK in the coming weeks and has the potential to do the same thing in the US. I think the album going to #1 in the UK and US is already a given.

This ITV special is great promo for Adele. It’s been absolutely fabulous!

I guess if you appreciate the album for the piece of art it is and the story it tells, you’ll like it a lot more. I think people were expecting Adele to just put 12 pop ballads on the album purely to enhance sales, but I’m glad she had artistic integrity and went through with her artistic vision. She obviously didn’t have commercial expectations at the forefront of her mind when making this album.

I think 30 is my favourite Adele album tbh. 21 is a close second though.

Also to everyone reading this thread and seeing some of those bitter comments, click on their profiles and look at their post history. They are unsurprisingly all Taylor Swift fans. Now, I don’t know about you but it definitely seems Adele has made Swift fans terribly upset for some reason. Very strange and erratic behaviour to say the least.

According to the reviews, there’s a song called OMG which is the RITD of 30. I’ll probably compile a list of all the best things I’ve read from the reviews, because it really deserves some attention. One reviewer calling it AOTY and one of the best albums they’ve ever heard might just be a fluke, but when review after review is similarly positive, it seems Adele really might be onto something with 30. It will almost definitely sell less than 21 and 25 due to the state of the market, but I’m sure what Adele wanted more than anything at this point in her career is to show evolution as an artist and it seems she’s done that. Really excited to hear the album now!

Metacritic scores for Adele: 19: 68 21: 76 25: 75 30: 90 (so far) Nearly every review is saying it’s her best album yet. She should be proud of herself because these are honestly some of the best reviews I’ve read in a while for any album.
