  1. Album up to 90 on metacritic! Unbelievable!
  2. Indeed. The Telegraph compared it to Tapestry and the reviewer for The Sun said it was one of the best albums they’ve ever heard. It’s very good press leading up to the album release.
  3. The reviews so far from the British press are insanely good which should help give it a little nudge.
  4. It’s a Monday, which means yesterday was Sunday. EOM never does well on weekends. It should climb throughout the rest of the week and comfortably remain #1.
  5. I’m increasing my expectations slightly considering 30 just jumped to #1 on Amazon and the vinyl jumped to #14 (from #22) after a performance... in the US? What’s that all about.
  6. I’m not mad, promise. Just pointing out something no one else has.
  7. Bitter and losing the plot for pointing out a fact that no one else dares to in case they’re bombarded by Taylor fans? I can take the blows, it’s fine. Keep them coming, Taylor fans.
  8. You were being purposely dense with your posts though. I didn’t call you a dense person, just your arguments.
  9. Again, grow up and stop with the name calling.
  10. Only time will tell, of course. But I think we are starting to see a trend of popular artists putting as many songs on an album as feasible to increase streaming numbers. I think I’m more disappointed in Taylor than anything. She’s so above doing something like that, but she clearly feels the pressure to maintain this aura of supremacy whenever she releases music. How many songs do you think her next TV will have? I’m betting more than 30, so she can beat this record. Because unless Adele releases an album with 20+ songs, I can’t see any other female breaking this one day female record in the near future. Maybe Olivia Rodrigo (doesn’t she have the one week record with just 11 songs?), but I’d hope she’s above putting so many songs on an album in order to do it because it’s really not that serious. I need these artists to realise that longevity and having a solid piece of cohesive work is more important than short-term streaming records. I blame their record labels for being so damn greedy.
  11. Get used to it, because that’s seemingly going to be the future of all music.
  12. Do you know how to calculate averages?
  13. Again, my statement is a fact based on statistical evidence. Your entire post here is conjecture.
  14. No, I’m making a statement based on the statistical evidence we have. You’re the one making an assumption, my friend.
  15. Other artists will though because they see the success she is having doing so. I’m telling you, in 10 years it will be the norm for artists to release albums with 50 songs. We are already up to 30.
  16. But a hugely successful artist like Taylor putting out an album with 30 songs is setting a precedent and other big stars will follow suit. She is a trend-setter and she has a lot of power. Her putting out an album with 30 songs is beneath her.
  17. Well actually, it is a statement backed up by the statistics we have. Your statement is conjecture.
  18. In a few years, putting albums out with 50 songs to break streaming records will be the norm. And that to me will be devastating to the quality of albums and music in general.
  19. The fact they have a Taylor video in their sig is an indication.
  20. Ah, the old trick of calling anyone who dares to so much as question the supremacy of your favourite artist a troll. Grow up.
  21. The fact is, if Red had the same amount of songs as Folklore (which was an actual album with a cohesive set of songs), then it wouldn’t have broken the record. The only reason it broke the record is because it has 30 songs. That is a statement backed up by statistical evidence and it isn’t debatable. The question is if you have a problem with that, and I do. I find it to be detrimental to the industry and the quality of music and albums in general. If you don’t have a problem with it, then we are never going to agree on this but you are entitled to your opinion.
  22. Well yes. That’s why Folklore broke the record with just 16 songs. Her being a big artist isn’t what I’m discussing here.
  23. I never said it wasn’t. I was just explaining to you that this is what happens when you release an “album” with 2 versions of the same song. It’s nothing to do with the song per se. But obviously if people are playing an album from front to back, the combined streams for the song are obviously going to be higher if there are 2 versions.
  24. Folklore was an actual album and that was an impressive record to say the least. I have no problem with that now and I’ve never had a problem with it. I’d prefer that was still the record as opposed to this so-called album with 30 songs.
  25. No one is trying to downplay or pit artists against each other. Again, everything I’ve said is a blatant truth. Taylor and Adele are both talented successful women in their own right. This isn’t up for debate. And that’s not what I’m discussing here.
