Like I said, it’s almost an inevitability that she’s going #1 next week. She’s been trending upwards since the song was released and is ahead of her closest competitor on the 3 most important platforms.

You make a good point about 16 carriages. I personally prefer 16 carriages, but it does put a stop to the idea that Texas is performing well just because it’s Beyoncé. Of course it makes a difference but you could make that argument for any big artist.

Think this could be Beyoncé’s biggest hit in a very long time. Sounds bloody brilliant on the radio!

I think you’re hoping for the impossible there. I think it going #1 next week is almost an inevitability based on the data I’m looking at. Benson is the only artist stopping her, but she’s dominating on Apple Music and iTunes.

How is Beyoncé smashing so hard with a country song? :o Thought Dua Lipa would have it in the bag this week but Texas seems to be trending upwards as opposed to downwards (which I expected). Really hope Dua can snatch that #1 (although Training Season doesn’t quite hit like I expected it to) but it is very impressive for Beyoncé to be smashing like this considering how long she’s been around, I have to give all credit to her.

Can’t even believe this needs to be said but an artist releasing one album and one vinyl cannot be compared to an artist releasing several versions of an album and vinyl, then an extra edition of said album and vinyl with extra songs at time of release. It’s common bloody sense. Can’t believe the conversations I’m seeing. It’s like no one is willing to point out the obvious. Taylor is a talented artist. But it’s common knowledge that she uses every single trick in the book to maximise her first week sales. Good for her. But let’s not act like her sales can be compared to someone like Adele or Ed Sheeran who typically only release one album and one vinyl. I’ll get attacked for stating the obvious, I know. But the facts are not always popular.

Cuff It is also now top 10 on Apple Music. Its performance so far is definitely promising.

I suspect her upcoming record is going to massively underperform. I’m not seeing much hype for it at all.

30 wasn’t up to scratch for many of you because it was much more R&B influenced than any of her previous records, as opposed to the pop balladry we’ve come to expect from her. I personally thought 30 was her greatest work to date conceptually, thematically, and sonically. I suspect her next record will be a lot less emotional and probably an experimental fun record to represent where she is at in her life right now. However, I don’t believe the rumour she is dropping an album this year. It seems way too soon but it would be a nice surprise.

I don’t love or hate it tbh. I find the chorus quite hard on the ears as it’s out of Sam’s range but I like the concept of the melody itself. Maybe it will grow on me.
