  1. Don’t see the point in discussing this with someone who is being purposely dense. Some fans really are so in love with their favourite artists that they really can’t take the statement of a fact when it disturbs their utopian view of them.
  2. Well, no one is arguing that Chris Brown is a bigger artist than Taylor Swift here.
  3. Doubt it. 30 is an actual album with 12 songs, as it should be. If she does break the record with just 12 songs, now that would be something. It would be mind-blowing, actually.
  4. Well, I don’t mind Taylor so no. If you can’t handle someone stating a blatant fact, that’s on you.
  5. Okay? Did I disagree with that? This is all very childish.
  6. Because I find it lacks artistic integrity to put out an album with 30 songs purely with the intention of breaking streaming records. Then when I see certain fans acting dense like that doesn’t matter, I feel I need to call it out. If I don’t, no one else will.
  7. Well yeah, like I said that’s how it works when people are listening to an “album” (I use that term very loosely where this is concerned) with 2 versions of the same song.
  8. That doesn’t mean anything. If Adele put out another version of EOM, she’d be ahead in overall streams. That’s how it works when you put two versions of the same song out.
  9. I’m glad Adele managed to hold off Taylor just for the principle of it. Don’t mind Taylor honestly, but it’s satisfying to see that putting out an album with 30 songs doesn’t mean you can just easily topple the biggest female artist in the game right now.
  10. I’m thankful the UK charts have a system in place to ensure that albums with a ridiculous amount of songs aren’t allowed to manipulate sales figures. But in the US, they let artists do whatever they want which is why they continue to do it and get away with it. These aren’t albums in any real sense of the word at this point.
  11. How many streams did that get compared to Red TV? And how many songs did each album have?
  12. Well she would with 30 songs on the album. The next TV will probably have 50 songs and break the record again. I don’t mind Taylor. But I do find a lot of her biggest fans love to ignore the obvious that her streams are obviously inflated due to having so many songs on the album.
  13. It’s probably her biggest album and has like 30 songs on it though. Just looked at the US numbers and they’re much better, but again she has 30 songs on the album. I’ll be interested to see how it holds up for the rest of the week. I’m expecting a collapse, actually. Especially for the ATW 10 minute version.
  14. Again, I expected her to be doing much better on Spotify… but she is bigger in the US than anywhere else I guess… I thought she was a bigger star in the UK.
  15. I expected Taylor to be doing better tbh. She’ll probably do much better on Spotify.
  16. Shocked that ABBA might do even less than Ed :o If I’m Adele’s team, I’m starting to get worried looking at these pure sales for Ed and ABBA.
  17. I couldn’t have been more wrong…. christ.
  18. Extremely shocked by Ed’s numbers tbh. I suspect he did much better in the UK than anywhere else though, so let’s wait to see the official numbers.
  19. Analysing it a bit closer, EOM is still the #1 song in every major city in the U.K. on Apple Music, so it’s not likely that Shivers is going to surpass it anytime soon.
  20. The 24 million figure is unfiltered streams, which is the highest ever recorded in a single day and beats BTS who previously held the record.
  21. The numbers in the US are not “low” by any standards. It’s one of the highest daily streams for a song of all time and it also lost an hour, so you can add about 280,000 streams to its total to get a better gist of its performance. It performed incredibly in the US, as it did almost everywhere in the world. The only country I’d consider a disappointment is Spain.
