  1. Will both versions of Dimelo count towards the chart?
  2. I think they’ll dominate iTunes for a couple of days, but I can’t see it catching up with the streams it needs. I reckon Dimelo will be #2 this week.
  3. Yes. Did you actually read what I said?
  4. I don’t really see what your point is tbh. Most duets are like that. It seems people wanted Bey to be extra on the track or something, which would have meant that she would have been accused of trying to overpower Ed on his own song. She could have let rip and done runs galore which no other female could do, but it wouldn’t suit the song.
  5. That’s why I said it was interesting phrasing. They called it a rerelease - which suggests they would be charting separately. However, they also called it a remix which would suggest they would be combined. However, on their tweet, they said “Can Beyoncé help push Ed Sheeran to number 1?” or something like that suggesting they would be combined.
  6. Interesting phrasing from the official charts company: ‘Ed Sheeran's Perfect, which has today been rereleased in remixed form to include vocals by Beyoncé, goes Top 3 for the first time, climbing one place.’ Looks like they’re classifying it as a remix and I think she will be credited as they’ve also called it a rerelease.
  7. Perfect is one of the few songs I like from Ed Sheeran. It’s beautifully written. Formulaic, maybe. But most good pop songs are.
  8. It’s ironic that anyone can take the stance that caring about the charts means you mustn’t care about the music - on a CHART FORUM. The irony is too much 😳
  9. I personally love Perfect and think it’s beautifully written.
  10. I don’t think the title has been changed. I think it’s literally the ‘Perfect’ Duet. I don’t think the word duet is literally part of the title. Anyway, surely thy are going to be combined because what was the point in releasing it otherwise?
  11. How can they possibly not credit Beyoncé when it’s with her help that it’s got to number 1 in the first place (assuming it does)? I think that would be wrong. She plays a substantial part on the duet.
  12. Jesus. It’s absolutely destroying iTunes.
  13. I don’t know if anyone else has realised, but Perfect sounds nearly identical to Ave Maria in some parts. I’m starting to think that’s why he asked her to be on the song, because she could definitely sue him for that. Anyway, it’s #30 now.
  14. Wow, someone who actually agrees with me. Was starting to think I was going crazy. It’s doing well on iTunes. #48 Ed Sheeran (and Beyoncé) #53 Louis Tomlinson
  15. No way. I don’t even like Ed Sheeran, but they both sound great and it’s got a great melody.
  16. Beyoncé sounds so angelic on Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. I think she’ll give the song the push it needs to be number 1... could be wrong though.
  17. You’re using one instance. Beyoncé also didn’t put her song on iTunes or list her video on YouTube. That’s self sabotage. She made a point of not needing hits. Who knows, maybe now she wants to go back to 2008 commercial Bey. However, the last few years she clearly went out of her way to prove herself as an artist and not just some generic pop artist. Listen, it’s not like Bey needs hits anymore. She can have hits if she wants, but she’s proven that she’s very capable of selling tour tickets and albums without them. It’s easy to forget that Bey has been in the industry for 20 years. She dominated the industry commercially for many years, and stated herself that she was growing tired of chasing after the next hit.
  18. Interesting discussion going on in here. I very rarely comment and usually just lurk. However, quite a little bit of misinformation has made me sign in to comment. Beyoncé is not a singles artist out of choice. She has very purposefully sabotaged her own solo singles by not releasing them on iTunes, not listing her YouTube videos, and not releasing her new music on Spotify. I’m almost sure Formation would have been at least a number 2 hit had she released everything simultaneously. However, it was a Tidal exclusive and was actually only released on iTunes 3 month after official release. Beyoncé went out of the way after the 4 era to sabotage her own single success to prove a point that the ‘album’ was the most important thing. Drunk In Love was a hit, but could have undoubtedly been much bigger here in the UK, despite being number 2 in the US. It definitely felt bigger than its chart position in the UK. Beyoncé is probably one of the few ‘pop artists’ nowadays who can release an album and have it go to number 1, regardless of whether she’s had a hit lead single. I have no idea what will happen with Perfect. I don’t know why she’s doing these features. Is she trying to test the waters for her own release? Ed clearly says that he ‘got Bey to do a collab’ meaning he asked her, not the other way around. Maybe she just really like the song? Will she even be credited if it goes to number 1? Mi Gente was for Puerto Rico, so I don’t really count that. I liked her collab with Eminem (mainly her part due to her vocals), but it was pretty obviously not ‘hit material’. I’m looking forward to it because I like the song and Bey’s voice should sound really good on it. Hope you’re all good :)
  19. Surely, WUTB has to be the next single? All I Ask should have been the second single if anything over WWWY. Hello - SML - AIA - WUTB would have been a perfect strategy.
  20. Sledgehammer is really awful.
  21. SML now at #2.
  22. Yes Sir, please Sir, three bags full Sir. Just kidding, will do in the future. Hadn't realised there was such a thread.
  23. 25 - #1 21 - #8 19 - #12 SML should shoot up to #3 anytime now.
  24. Adele did amazingly at Glastonbury! I see her slaying the iTunes in both the singles and album charts. Happy for her! Hope SML can go at least top 10 this week!
  25. 12. Adele - Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
