Top 40 of 2023 (so far...) - WEEK 10
Never made the Freya / Florence connection but I can clearly see it now. Florence won my chart back in 2012 with Spectrum.

Top 40 of 2023 (so far...) - WEEK 10
Thanks both. I must say I think "Freezing" is a phenomenal tune and really grows on you with each listen. I'm a huge fan of Laura Marano who I believe has never charted here - she has such a great likeable personality and her music is pretty decent too. Also very happy that Can't Tame Her has finally reached the Top 75 - it was about time!!!

Not looking likely after a 6 place fall in one day. Anything to get Never Gonna Not Dance Again up another place!

Friday Chart Predictions
Yes I know it's had a reset, but how on earth is Green Green Grass charting so high again. And why? Who on earth is listening to it in vast numbers? Pretty sure no-one wants a song that's already had its Top 10 ten time back AGAIN.

Friday Chart Predictions
Potentially yet ANOTHER stagnant week in the Top 10 with six tunes already having notched up 10+ weeks on the chart. I can't understand how week after week the Top 3 songs keep generating streaming values in the same order. And it's not just these current tunes, the amount of stagnation on a regular basis is astounding.

The re-emergence of CD singles
Completely agree. The exclusivity of a rare studio track from one of your favourite artists that can't be found anywhere else is highly appealing, especially if it's not put on YT. There are many tunes that don't make the final cut, understandable if they don't fit with the rest of the album. These could be lost for ever so why not attempt to make some money out of them - it used to be one of the main reasons I purchased certain CD singles.

The Buzzjack Friday Chart Show Thread: 10th February 2023

Pink finally makes the actual Top 40 with 'Never Gonna Not Dance Again' and also makes her appearance here. Her new single 'Trustfall' may not be far behind. Zara Larsson powers her way to the top with The Weeknd-esque 'Can't Tame Her' re-establishing her place as an exceptional re-inventor!

Friday Chart Predictions
I'm not saying all women of a certain age can't be successful. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Adele clearly operate on another level and do have a huge fan base hence their ongoing success, and probably heavy label support. The likes of those I've mentioned plus Carly Rae Jepsen, Mabel, Nina Nesbitt, Maisie Peters as further examples are just never going to punch heavy which is a real shame as some of their music is really quite decent.

Friday Chart Predictions
Female soloists in their mid-20s and upwards just don't seem to garner any streaming support. Rita Ora, Ava Max, Freya Ridings, Zara Larsson just don't have any chance of making the Top 40 nowadays which is a disgrace. But don't worry we have a stagnant Top 5 AGAIN. Oh, and let's have Rema still at No.6 after 22 weeks on chart.
