There's obviously random checks, but the fact that it is sp prevalent in the UK but not really in Europe yet (1 time in The Netherlands, 4 in Belgium) makes me think there has been a siperspreader event kn the UK. The virus is still 98.8% the same Every government was DRAGGED for filth for not reacting sooner to Wuhan, so at least they're reaction now

:gaga: Well at least the Dutch government is trying to help y'all self isolate by banning flights. I'm sure it's more to make people think they're trying, as I'm sure it won't help

Yeah same around here. Though we do have someone at the door because people are too stupid to work the automatic kartwash so occasionally we catch someone trynna sneak in without. Claiming they didnt know despite it being mandatory since march. A mess

Both Belgium and The Netherlands will "cancel" christmas if the numbers aren't low enough. In Belgium officers are legally allowed to knock on the door and check the people if they deem the noise as too loud I think

Yes of course there's a bigger chance a deadlier version emerges. That is a given if there's more virus particle around. However, natural selection benefits the ones that have a longer life and spreads faster. For the deadlier version to succeed it need to both mutate to a deadlier version, which isnt happening in 1 or 2 mutations, AND become easier to spread. Chances of that happening are very very slim

They always tweak it as the virus mutates every year, thats why flu waves are sometimes bigger (as the version is more contagious or less severe) and the flu jab is a yearly thing. It's not a completely new vaccine, but the covid vaccine will use the same techniques used in other vaccines as well

The fact that you had to bring up the 60's, when research was far less extensive, less progressed and not the plentyfull of vaccines that have been released ever since tells me you're just trynna get a reaction so here it is Let's hope the doctors don't take the same lacklustre approach when it comes to your health if you contract Ms Rona.

Vaccines dont kill virusses, they trigger your body to develop its immunesystem to be ale to withstand an infection. It has offered effective protection in 90% of the cases. Only 64 infections out of a total 44k people vaccinated

Chile I have no idea. This government was in office 2 days before they started showing how incompetent they are. It started going up when the kids went to school on september first, which was accelerated by loosening restrictions on groups (wtf). Then it started spreading a lil' but it got accelarated again right before uni's where coming back and new restrictions were put in place. It obviously accelerated when uni's came back on as age groups mixed and mixed and it spread to workplaces and homes. Mind you, Belgians are a very warm group. They greet everyone with kisses and hugs and that really sparked a lot of cases. In the beginning a good 30% of the infections came from holidaygoers, so from there it spread massively. So it was a perfect storm for Ms Rona

Germany has already taken in 21 patients from Belgium and I think somewhere around 8 or 9 from The Netherlands. That article was from 4 days ago and thankfully a platteau seems to be surfacing now. This government f***ed up big time, I'd say it was somewhere along with the UKs response to the 1st wave. I mean even The Netherlands had measures before Belgium and they are one of the most lenient in the EU, Sweden aside It is very bad around here. Brussels and Liege are at full capacity, but there seems to be lights ahead. The spread of patients, or lack of it, seems to be the bottleneck
