I read that the virus mutates slowly. It would need a big mutation for a vaccin to not work. Like with the flu, they give you the past 4 years or so which protects you quite a lot already. So with this one, it might take a while for 80% protection as you'd need various strains. I am not 100% up to date woth the facts either but the flu mutates faster apparantly and that has a worldwide vaccin as well

I wouldnt really call an isolated case a wave tho There's been several reports of various strains. A B and C. A was mostly seen in Asia, B in Europe and C in New York. They believe the virus has adapted to the circumstances and genetics of the inhabitants. I'm not sure on the deathlier part, but I believe it is more down to lifestyle (age, obese, air quality) then a deadlier strain. It might have mutated to a deadlier version, but its impact feels limited as there's still mostly deaths with underlying issues. It's perfectly plausible for the US strain to come from Europe as New York has so many connections to Europe by air it never was a matter of IF but a matter of WHEN

You make yourself look stupid hun, you don't need any help on that department. I'll just leave you to it as clearly there is no way to have an actual discussion with you without you resorting to playong a victim of non-existent things

Gurl I was literally questioning what you were getting at... You asked a question, I answered my view on it. Now the fact that that does not fit your narrative is not my fault What makes you think the first wave died in december so it could return less than 2 weeks later

No one knows what? That it is highly contagious? That asymptomatics can spread?
  8. *Tim posted a post in a topic in News and Politics
Nah, this is still the first wave. It's a highly contagious virus which only takes 1 person to spread. With the combination of asymptomatics and it being a new virus, it was very easy for it to spread early without being noticed Edit: Yes Silas DATES! I can't believe not everyone works with them. Both NL and BE have been working with dates of "at least till april 1st, etc"

Nobody is ripping anyone or anything apart, we are as confused by the people not knowing about the news as they are by us knowing all about it

If measures will be lifted, you will not hear about it just on the news. You will get push notifications on ur phone Emails in your email from stores etc Surely the rock these people live under can't be that big?

I'm so confused as to why the UK government doesnt work with DATES instead of weeks But apart from that, I am also confused why people feel the need to stick to the exact date. Like if you don't hear news about things opening, isn't it obvious nothing is opening :')

Yes but banning audiences will obviously anger quite a few die hard fans as well as motivate people to watch the games together. There's so much risks involved of having that 1 asymptomatic superspreader. I'm glad both Belgium and The Netherlands have banned the leagues. It'll for sure squander any goodwill towards clubs if they insist on proceeding the competition The dutch football clubs have actually all got together and made pacts to support each other, the top 5 will go into europe and donate some of the proceeds, and the dutch government is very likely to to step in as well

I honestly I am so confused by countries allowing football games to continue. The most obvious cash above health example in my opinion. There are so many risks involved and it is such an unneeded addition to society in these times. Imagine closing bars, yet allowing football matches to go on (without viewers but still)

I am living for these updates  Less than 100 new hospitalisations in The Netherlands as well Both Belgium and NL are starting to kick the regular healthcare kn higher gear as well

It's so confusing to me how every country in Western Europe has the ability to increase their testing drastically, while The Netherlands are still stuck with a shortage of fluid needed. We have the capacity for 29k a day, but are stuck on less than 10k

No, I am trying to have a civil discussion with you and trying to understand your posts. My opinion however doesn't fit your narative and thats why you "end" the discussion. I have not antagonised you in any way
