2026 BPI Certifications
Surely because most of their sales were pre 1994? Isn’t Thriller 25 counted separately? Aren’t ABBA GOLD and Rumours also due upgrades based on all time sales?

Friday Chart Predictions
For the sheer spectacle ROSALIA was way up there. RAYE was a let down imo.

Just don't get all the continual Alex hate on this platform. He was by far the best vocal performance of the night

But they have equal billing...???

Friday Chart Predictions
This whole situation with Man I Need and the amount of weeks it's missed at number one is an absolute joke. How can the Official Chart have any credibility when by far and away the most popular song for over 2 months is not number one!

Friday Chart Predictions
According to Music Week, Rein Me In is on 25,697 sales and So Easy on 24,182.

Should The UK Singles & Album Charts Have a Recurrent Rule where Older songs and Albums are disqualified from the charts
I see more representation of new artists on the airplay, It does exactly that I.e. reflecting current listening trends from actually a wide demographic

Should The UK Singles & Album Charts Have a Recurrent Rule where Older songs and Albums are disqualified from the charts
So even more manipulation, diminishing further the representation of popularity

The BuzzJack Friday Chart Show Thread: 6th February 2026
Ironically if ACR wasn't a thing a lot of the songs reset wouldn't be entering!

2026 BPI Certifications
Wish the BPI would combine WHAM!'s physical sales so the platinum status reflects its total sales. Same goes for Band Aid and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, and all singles/albums pre-1994.

2026 BPI Certifications
True! I typed in Michael Jackson - Thriller (single) but it lists 2014 as the earliest certification date which is incorrect.

2026 singles year to date estimates
Paul Mccartney - surely must be 2,040,000?

2026 BPI Certifications
Also, is it just me or have they completely wiped all pre-digital awards from their re-designed site for those artists that have gained awards since 2004?
-
2026 BPI Certifications
Can the Offical Charts and BPI ever give us correctly functioning sites! Doing a certification search for one song/album shouldn't be so laborious! I mean, have a drop down box like the RIAA to show certication history of a particular song/album!

Very odd that Andy Williams from #21 to out of the Top 40 since Wednesdays update

Should the OCC introduce recurrent rules?
Of they're not popular enough, then so be it
-
Estimated ACR status updates 2025
What's annoying with this is that historically, Nobody's Son will be seen to have reached a peak position far lower than its initial popularity was.
-
Should the OCC introduce recurrent rules?
More ridiculous manipulation imo, distorting the chart completely, rendering its measurement of popularity meaningless. Might as well move christmas classics altogether and have a catalogue christmas chart.
-
Should the OCC introduce recurrent rules?
I think they should and introduce a catalogue chart. As well as this, scrap ACR.

2025 singles year to date estimates
Gorilla -4,720,000?!
-
2025 BPI Certifications
Ukmix list of best selling singles of 1986 has 'In The Army Now' as 333,693 sales
-
Estimated ACR status updates 2025
So just more manipulation of an already distorted chart! Taking Christmas songs out entirely and having a seperate chart would be the better option imo.
-
Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 02/10/25
Lewis at #22 on streaming chart! He really can't do without those physicals!
-
2025 BPI Certifications

Friday Chart Predictions
How utterly predictable in more ways than one. More univentive sentimentality from lewis capaldi; galvanising his fanbase to buy physical product. Imo physical product with multiple formats exclusive to the artist's website should be excluded from the chart.
