Alex's Favourites from UK Singles Chart (1970-2001)
12.02.2000 : Scooch - More Than I Needed To Know (1 week # 1) http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/13905349/More%20Than%20I%20Needed%20To%20Know.jpg YLncxyCXPsU After # 2 position with "When My Baby" in 1999 "Steps wannabe" band Scooch got their first from three # 1 singles with "More Than I Needed To Know". Scooch are a British bubblegum dance group, comprising performers Natalie Powers, Caroline Barnes, David Ducasse and Russ Spencer. They won a contest on BBC One's Saturday morning show Live & Kicking in 1999. They competed against a boy band to have their single released. Even though the bands were already formed, this contest was unique as it pre-dates the format of the first music talent reality show to air in United Kingdom, ITV1's program "Pop stars" in 2000. Their debut single "When My Baby" charted within the Top 40. This prompted a tour supporting the Irish girl band B*Witched, and promoted their second and biggest single "More Than I Needed to Know". It entered the UK Singles Chart at number 5 and went on to see a global release (including Japan where it hit the top of the record chart). UK version of their album entitled "Four Sure" (underrated sample of perfect pop :( ) which peaked just outside UK Top 40. The band were dropped by their record label and privately split. Caroline Barnes

Alex's Favourites from UK Singles Chart (1970-2001)
My # 1 favourite song from all 90s decade. 26.12.1999 : Steps - Say You'll Be Mine (7 weeks # 1) http://www.pop-music.com/steps/say_youll_be_mine.jpg EDZoefLylcY "Say You'll Be Mine" is a song by Steps, released as the group's eighth single as a double-A-side, along with a cover version of Kylie Minogue's "Better the Devil You Know". The single was released in Christmas week of 1999, against competitors such as S Club 7's "Two in a Million / You're My Number One" and the number one Westlife's "I Have a Dream / Seasons in the Sun". The single entered at number seven - the group's lowest since their debut "5,6,7,8" - but it rose to number four the following week. This single spent seventeen weeks in the chart, the first Steps single to do so since "Better Best Forgotten". The music video for "Say You'll Be Mine" features the band acting out different films. H and Claire act out Romeo + Juliet, H and Faye act out Austin Powers, H and Lisa act out Titanic, Lee and Claire act out There's Something About Mary, Lee and Faye act out Batman Returns and Lee and Lisa act out Armageddon. BEST idea for the music video and Faye is very sexy. Amazing end for the decade.

19.12.1999 : Lolly - Big Boys Don't Cry (1 week # 1) http://popencyclopedia.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/lollypngversion.png Bljp9tu0vos Lolly (born Anna Kumble) is a British pop star, TV presenter and actress. Anna Kumble worked as a model before going into a pop career. Lolly arrived on the British pop music scene in 1999 with the release of her first single, "Viva La Radio". She released five singles and two albums over her two-year career in music. Her real name was released one letter at a time in Smash Hits magazine. After quitting her record label Polydor, Lolly reverted to her real name and began TV presenting, working for the BBC on programmes such as Xchange. Kumble has starred in a number of pantomimes. In December 2012, she will be appearing in "Jack and the Beanstalk" in Weymouth and in 2013/2014 she starred in "Robin Hood". Lolly's best single (# 10 in United Kingdom). Such cute song, even not very cheesy, she was a huge favourite for Christmas # 1 race, but my favourite song of all 90s decade was released on the next week.

Alex's Favourites from UK Singles Chart (1970-2001)
13.11.1999 : Geri Halliwell - Lift Me Up (4 weeks # 1) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/90/Lift-me-up.jpg cVp9P1-fBy8 Third # 1 single for my all-time # 1 favourite singer. I was on a heaven of happiness, when Geri got the second # 1 single in United Kingdom. "Lift Me Up" is a song by singer-songwriter, Geri Halliwell. It was released on 1 November 1999 as the third single from Halliwell's debut solo album "Schizophonic". It debuted and peaked at number-one in UK Singles Chart, winning the chart battle against fellow Spice Girls member Emma Bunton's "What I Am" by 33,000 copies. The single was released on 1 November 1999, along with previous Spice Girls group mate Emma Bunton's debut single "What I Am". When Geri discovered that her single was to be released on the same date as that of her former Spice colleague, she wanted to back out, but it was too close to the release date for her to pull out, and so, in true Geri style, she became determined for her single to reach number one over Emma's. "Lift Me Up" reached number one in the UK chart on 13 November 1999. On the first day of sales, Halliwell was ahead of Bunton by only 200 copies, but due to a furious whirlwind of promotion on Halliwell's part, "Lift Me Up" wound up selling 139,000 copies in its first week ("What I Am"'s first week sales were 106,000 copies). Its total sales are 341,768 copies in United Kingdom, the single enjoyed a fifteen-week run in UK chart.

More # 1 singles for Steps. 06.11.1999 : Steps - After The Love Has Gone (1 week # 1) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e2/After_The_Love_Has_Gone.jpg iz36fINs_YY "After the Love Has Gone" is a song by Steps, released as their seventh single, and the third from their second album "Steptacular". The track continues the group's pop sound but has clear Asian musical influences. The song spent eleven weeks in UK singles charts peaking at #5. It fell out of the top 75 after nine weeks, but rose and spent two more weeks inside.

Alex's Favourites from UK Singles Chart (1970-2001)
31.10.1999 : Sixpence None The Richer - There She Goes (1 week # 1) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qDYkEj43Py0/TarS3TRMjYI/AAAAAAAAAKw/ccbTYtS00PQ/s1600/sixpence-none-the-richer_1.Jpg pj3vXkhqszE "There She Goes" is a song written by British singer/guitarist Lee Mavers and recorded first by Mavers' band, The La's. Sixpence None the Richer released a cover version of the song in 1999 as the second single from their self-titled album "Sixpence None the Richer". The band's rendition of the song reached no. 14 on UK Singles Chart, top 40 on Billboard Hot 100 and top 10 of Billboard's Adult Top 40 chart. Second and last number one for Sixpence in a terms of my favourites from UK releases. Another two # 1 hits (Breathe Your Name, Don't Dream It's Over) weren't released in UK.

Alex's Favourites from UK Singles Chart (1970-2001)
Definitely 1999 is my favourite year in music. Many amazing songs spent only 1 week on the top and some lovely pop hits even wasn't # 1 here. Thunderbugs - Friends Forever 3u_0hzDwz1Q Love this song, but the competition for # 1 is very strong. Somewhere in 2005 this single easily could spent a month on the top. Only # 2 for the next 5 weeks.

24.10.1999 : Texas - Summer Son (1 week # 1) http://plagiata.net.ua/images/slon/1261767724_texas_summer_son.jpg 7uIFISklvXY "Summer Son" is a song by Scottish band Texas and was the second single to be taken from the album "The Hush". The song was released on 16 August 1999 in UK and reached #5 on Official Singles Chart. It remains one of the band's most known releases, partly because of the controversy surrounding the accompanying sexually implicit video. My favourite Texas' single, taken from the best their album. All three singles in the "Hush" era were # 1s in my chart.

03.10.1999 : Shania Twain - Man! I Feel Like A Woman (3 weeks # 1) http://img.youtube.com/vi/SFShtOgR5Ak/0.jpg ZJL4UGSbeFg "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" is a song co-written and recorded by Canadian country music artist Shania Twain. It was released in March 1999 as the seventh single from Twain's album "Come On Over". It was written by Mutt Lange and Twain. "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!," originally released to North American country radio stations in early 1999. "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" became her second consecutive number one in New Zealand, where it debuted at the top spot, and was certified platinum, making it her biggest single in that country. In France, it was her first and to date, only top ten single. In the UK, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" became Twain's second highest selling single, being certified Silver. The song debuted, at its peak, on October 2, 1999 at number three, where it remained for two weeks. It remained in the top ten for another two weeks. It remained on the entire chart for 18 weeks. "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" became Twain's fourth (third consecutive) top ten in United Kingdom. It also hit the top ten in Netherlands and Australia.

Alex's Favourites from UK Singles Chart (1970-2001)
After very long pause this thread is coming back. 1. Now I know the dates of UK release for some old singles, which wasn't in the official chart. Based on it I started to correct my retrospective # 1 list + I want get rid from some random # 1 singles, which I like, but they are not so good for # 1 position. On this minite I did some major changes in # 1 lists : 1. Add 4 # 1 singles for Brotherhood Of Man (Honey Don't Throw Our Love Away, Kiss Me, Kiss Your Baby, Taxi, Will You Love Me Tomorrow). Now they have fifteen # 1 singles. 2. ABBA also got their fifteen's # 1 single with "Super Trouper" (instead Sheena Easton's single) 3. Add new 4 # 1 singles for Blondie : Two from them (Union City Blue, Denis) were missed. I don't know a reason. "Atomic" and "Hanging On The Telephone" got # 1 status. Now Blondie have 12 # 1 singles and Debbie Harry has 18 # 1 singles (with additional six solo # 1s) Try to finish 1999 year so fast as I can. :)

Actress Rate Results!!!
Tricia Helfer is Celene from "Walk All Over Me" Also she has played several prominent video game roles in recent years (Red Alert 3, Halo 3, Starcraft 2, Spiderman : Web Of Shadows). Not well-known actress, because she didn't have any roles in blockbaster movies. Her filmography is not short, I even never heard about some films. Need to check them.
