Now Lithuanian chart is available in International charts part of Buzzjack. I try to update it every week and maybe even will add the archive of old charts. Also I add Youtube links for the most songs, so you can check them. Welcome : http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=177909

"You" was only one their great single.
  3. I'm very surprised, that anybody else here had allSTARS* on the top of personal charts. :cheer: All their singles were # 1s in my chart (minimum 4 weeks at # 1 for any single, "Best Friends" was the biggest hit with 7 weeks on the top). Their album is my all-time # 2 (behind H & Claire - Another You, Another Me).
  4. Indeed. :cheer:

  6. Do you like allSTARS* cover version ? Bucks Fizz singles rate will come in Retro part of this forum soon. Most possible in the end of May. :cheer:
  7. Finnish version of huge hit from 1983. Can you recognise a song without watch a title of original on Youtube ? Bf6RY8i1VqY
  8. Best song of Eurovision 2015 here, for anybody who didn't heard it before. 1Cqk5ZdrfSk Haters gonna hate, Lithuania for the most unpredictable win in all history :cheer:

John, possible you have another two or three Eurovision related # 1s (Save Your Kisses For Me, Making Your Mind Up, not sure about Love Shine A Light). Here is Lyn Paul - Love : GvZZW9I-TIY Wonderful song, didn't heard it before, obviously should be # 1 in my retrospective.
  10. Enjoy !!! Sweet Dreams : 7b7mnbp-Mmw Rubic : tnuPjrkOJeo Audio : M-pPiA9J8F8 Ritzy : _E3yA6pfCWs Mirror : hWRFStdvIpY
  11. Amazing "A Song For Europe" 1983. Many new mixed pop groups with songs from popular British songwriters. My favourites : 1. Sweet Dreams - I'm Never Giving Up Songwriter : Ron Roker (written UK chart hits for Jackie Lee, Tina Charles, Polly Brown, The Pearls) 2. Rubic - When The Kissing Stops Songwriters : Tony Hiller (many artists have recorded Hiller's songs including Brotherhood of Man, Elton John, Olivia Newton-John, Crystal Gayle, Anne Murray), Martin Lee (Brotherhood of Man) From Wikipedia : In 1983, the songwriting team of Hiller, Lee and Upton entered a song for the A Song for Europe competition. Their composition, "When the Kissing Stops" made it to the final eight, but although initially tempted, the group decided not to perform the number themselves ("We all agreed it would be better to be remembered as winners, and we couldn't bear to lose!" remembers Sandra Stevens). Hiller formed a male/female trio under the name Rubic to represent the song on 24 March 1983. The group lost out to another male/female trio, Sweet Dreams and ended up in fifth place. Despite its failure, Brotherhood of Man recorded the song and chose it as their next single. Released in the Summer of 1983, alongside their new album "Lightning Flash", neither record made the UK Chart and this brought to an end their contract with EMI. "When the Kissing Stops" remains Brotherhood of Man's final single release. 3. Audio - Love On Your Mind Songwriter : Marty Kristian (New Seekers) 4. Ritzy - Keeping Our Love Alive Songwriter : Guy Fletcher (author of Clodagh Rodgers' "Save Me", Cliff Richard's "Power To All His Friends") 5. Mirror - We've Got All The Time In The World Songwriter : Tony Hiller, Paul Curtis (who holds the record for the most number of songs to make the finals of the "A Song for Europe" contest, include "A Message To Your Heart" by Samantha Janus) Unfortunately one song (Casablanca - With Love) is not available on Youtube. Also there was a song, written by good British pop singer Stephanie de Sykes for her husband Stuart Slater.
  12. ^ and all these peoples blame my music taste for loving Lithuanian girl groups.

John, just count them, it's not very hard. :) Not 100 % sure, but near 75-80 % my # 1s were from United Kingdom, maybe even more. US is possible on the second place, based on many # 1s from Madonna, Britney, Blondie. If don't count Eurovision songs these countries have # 1s in my chart : Netherlands (mostly Luv'), Lithuania, Canada (mostly Shania Twain), Australia (mostly Kylie), Belgium (K3, Betty, Mega Mindy), Ireland (mostly Dana), Sweden (mostly ABBA), Norway (M2M, Lene Marlin), Germany (No Angels), Russia (Julia Kova, Nataliya Vetlitzkaya), Denmark (Me & My, Aqua), France (France Gall, Mylene Farmer)
  14. 1978 : Co-Co - Bad Old Days (Fourth win) wLzwQUJ0S0E For the third time in history (after Germany 1962-1963 and Ireland 1972-1973) one country won two consecutive rankings. 1980 : Prima Donna - Love Enough For Two (Fifth win) WpwpDSDnNj0 Three wins in four years, United Kingdom repeat Irish result. 1981 : Bucks Fizz - Making Your Mind Up (Sixth win) h4-lKMGII_k The winners again, ex-Co-Co member Cheryl Baker became the first and last person, who won two contests. In 1982 year United Kindgom got the third place after surprising winner Austria (Mess - Sonntag) and Germany (Nicole - A Little Peace).
  15. Before checking a link I thought about the level of all-time classics (something like "Imagine", "Let It Be", "Black Or White" e.t.c.) :)

Free-to-air TV in Russia (mostly Eurosport and Eurosport 2): Most major sport events, include : FIFA World Cup UEFA European Championship Olympic Games (Summer and Winter) Formula 1 3 Tennis Grand Slams (exclude Wimbledon) Winter World Cups (Ski Jumping, Cross-country, Biathlon, Alpine Ski, Nordic Combined, Luge) Figure Skating (Grand Prix, World and European championships) All three main cycling tours World and European Athletics Championships World and European Aquatic Championships 20 / 20 Cricket World Cup and Champions League World and European Curling Championships Ice Hockey World Championship Weightlifting World and European Championships + maybe I forgot about any sport events. Wish : Rugby World Cup (we have it in 2003, 2007, 2011, but Russia is not a participant in 2015, so it's 99 % No) From winter sports : Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cups (some years ago we have them), Speed Skating World Cup (only one winter World Cup with zero TV airplay in Russia) From summer sports : Athletics Diamond League Also I want to see Commonwealth Games (but it's impossible in Russia) and Rugby Six Nations again (I still remember 3 wonderful years with this competion, when rugby had a very good airplay on Russia Sport)
  18. Thanks for the info about all these # 1s. Many from them were #1s in my retrospective. Very painful to see the weeks without any female singers in top 30 or even in top 50. :(
  19. Next week it's all about new edition of British Eurovision pre-selection "A Song For Europe". Let's remember all British winners of my Eurovision rankings. 1957 : Patricia Bredin - All (First win) wK5IzZxSJ0Y Old-fashioned even for 1957 year British Eurovision debut, before 2015 year it was the shortest Eurovision song. It's only one British entry (and very rare situation for all countries) never released as a single. 1969 : Lulu - Boom Bang-A-Bang (Second win) 4ew43u2gS0Y Poor Mary Hopkin and Kathy Kirby had amazing songs (Mary's song is in my all-time 5 favourite ESC songs, Kathy Kirby in top 20), but lost to my all-time Eurovision # 2 and # 3 songs. Lucky Lulu was in the end of British top 20 Eurovision songs. I'm not a huge fan of this song, but another contenders (Germany and Netherlands) were a little worse. 1977 : Lynsey De Paul & Mike Moran - Rock Bottom (Third win) uFEggcJx22Q United Kingdom came back on the top after some top 3 results in a previous years with another wonderful pop song from all-time # 1 best British female singer-songwriter Lynsey De Paul. One year before Brotherhood Of Man classic lost my ranking to Norwegian entry "Mata Hari", in 1977 "Casanova" finished behind British "Rock Bottom". It was a start of British era in my rankings, will continue in the next post.
