My Top 200 songs of 2000-2009
158. Amy Winehouse // Tears Dry On Their Own // September 2007 Though everyone else seemed to be of a different opinion, I wasn't too keen on Winehouse until I heard this song. The whole Frank era had gone by unnoticed by me and I detested Rehab and didn't have much of an opinion on You Know I'm No Good or Back to Black but this song really made an impression on me. The only one of hers that ever did mind. Sorry; I can't deny her talent however and her death was such a shame and waste ojdbDYahiCQ

My Top 200 songs of 2000-2009
159. The Kooks // Naive // May 2006 The summertime of 2006 seems almost eternal to me, all I remember is just day after day of sunbathing in my back garden with friends with Radio 1 on constant play. I'm sure anyone who listened to Radio 1 in 2006 knew how obsessed with The Kooks they were. I duly bought their album, and although they released another, for me The Kooks will always just belong to that eternal summer jkaMiaRLgvY

160. Eminem // The Way I Am // October 2000 Remember the dark side to Eminem I told you I liked? Well here is my first exposure to it; though I knew of "The Real Slim Shady" it wasn't until a root around in my elder's brother in September 2000 that I discovered his copy of The Marshall Mathers LP that I began to love Eminem. As much as I loved The Way I Am it was soon overshadowed in my affections by the superior Stan a few months later. I was only nine at this point in time so a little young to be listening to stuff such as this; think my parents took their eyes off the ball there but with four kids in the house one can't really blame them mQvteoFiMlg

My Top 200 songs of 2000-2009
161. Sugababes // Ugly // December 2005 A song one might call the last from the Sugababes golden era of 2002-2005 now. I was passed being bullied by this point in time but I definitely found it kind of helpful as puberty and general teenage behavior set in. 4nD2vZfdzGg

162. Taylor Swift // Love Story // January 2009 A song that on paper I shouldn't love. It's a corny love song by a teenage country singer. But there's something about this that I've always loved, and to be honest I'm a bit of a secret Taylor fan 8xg3vE8Ie_E

163. Darius // Live Twice // January 2005 I loved this song when it was released but it took on an extra meaning following the death of my father in August 2007. Don't mean to be morbid but it's the reason why it's here, and lyrically it sums up our relationship extremely well JNEU1GI98hI

164. Hilary Duff // Come Clean // May 2004 I had such a crush on Hilary Duff (rhyme) back in the day, probably the reason this is on here to be honest. Well, that, and the fact that for Disney Pop this isn't half bad WPnCOySQkH4

My Top 200 songs of 2000-2009
165. Damien Rice // Cannonball // December 2003 Funny this has come up today, seen as though earlier I was on a bus behind two silly 13 year olds who were saying how amazing Little Mix were at song writing because of this song. I know, I nearly lost it too. If this was my mum's chart then this and 'Blowers Daughter' would make the Top 2 but alas Cannonball is #165 and Blower's Daughter doesn't quite make the cut 3yqM--IMkX4

166. Green Day // Holiday // March 2005 So, it's August 2004, I'm 12 years old and to be honest I'm growing quite bored of music. Having pretty much been obsessed with three artist all year (Girls Aloud, Usher and Anastacia) and played all their albums and singles endlessly I needed something new and exciting to get into. Que Green Day; on holiday in the Isle of Skye my cousins and I are driving to our cottage when Radio One (somehow we managed to get radio signal) play a song by a band called Green Day called 'American Idiot' and I'm immediately hooked. I then by all their previous albums and become completely obsessed and save up for 5 weeks to buy the American Idiot album. 'Holiday' is the first of all the singles from that album (my 3rd favourite of the decade) to make this chart DrWpLS0vM0g

167. Alistair Griffin // Bring It On // January 2004 Before "X Factor" there was "Fame Academy" which brought us the likes of Lemar, Alex Parks, Sinead Quinn and this guy who released this as his debut single in late 2003. Now, the song doesn't impress me much (As Shania Twain would say) but at the time of release I was being horribly bullied at school and the lyrics and message of the song helped me through it 6FOr429j6Sk

168. Anastacia // One Day in Your Life // May 2002 Most likely an unpopular opinion but this is my favourite Anastacia track. I did love Anastacia however she only places two songs on this countdown, however I would estimate about 4 songs are placed between 201-220 0RIlAPC6U3w

169. Girls Aloud // Life Got Cold // August 2003 Yet more Girls Aloud! Definitely my favourite group of the 00's by far, this was their third single and first to miss the Top 2 in the UK Charts. In 'Justin land' however this spent 5 weeks at #2 (behind a song that will be appearing much, much later). I don't even care if it's a Wonderwall rip-off, this song is brilliant wurjnwmtrqk

170. Atomic Kitten // It's OK // June 2002 It's deffinately been the day of the girlbands in this countdown today. The Kittens never got the acclaim that Sugababes and Girls Aloud got and whilst it's true they don't appear as much as the former two on my countdown, they were capable of belting out a good tune or two (well three as that's the amount of times they pop up in the Top 200) 0debAXDUmpc

My Top 200 songs of 2000-2009
171. Girls Aloud // Biology // November 2005 "Biology" certainly is a turning point in the career of Girls Aloud; the moment they were seen as something more than a poppy silly girlband and, in my opinion, this is their first true masterpiece. It isn't my favourite from them by a long shot but it deffinately paved the way for the critical acclaim they would garner from here on in bBPtP4t2J1k

172. Sugababes // About You Now // October 2007 It's always been Girls Aloud for me but I can't deny the Sugababes have made some killer tunes in their time. This one spent 6 weeks in the Top 10 of my personal chart and reached a peak of #3 _F5CgUdF5js

Gezza's Review Of Every No 2 Hit 2005-09
Two terrible, terrible songs there. 2004 and 2005 were all about the Albums chart as what was at the top of the singles chart was 98% of time utter crap.

My Top 200 songs of 2000-2009
173. U2 // Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own // August 2007 The reason this says August 2007 is because that was when I finally began loving this song, which managed at peak of #23 when it was actually released. The reason? My father died of cancer in August 2007 and U2 were one of his favourite bands, whilst looking through his records I re-discovered this and the track really helped me through an absoloutely hellish period of my life. Longing for a way to express my relationship with my dad I found the lyrics to this song perfect CuDqHtAR6L8

174. Fall Out Boy // Thanks For the Memories // May 2007 Random but this song always reminds me of the Abdication Crisis of 1936. Why? We were studying it in History when I was really into this song and found the lyrics weirdly appropriate for the situation. Moving on.... onzL0EM1pKY

175. Anastacia // Left Outside Alone // March 2004 I love this woman  So underrated, although she does actually have three million selling albums but she deffinately should be bigger than she is. uzR5jM9UeJA

176. Vanessa Hudgens // Say OK // April 2007 There's really not many Disney songs I like but there is something about this. My girlfriend, Jen, was a big fan of this song when it came out and deemed it "our song" even though I wasn't sold on it at all at the time. Then it grew on me and spent 14 weeks in my Top 20.
