  1. 195. Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne // Down // November 2009 Right to the tail end of the decade now with the song that broke Jay Sean on the other side of the Atlantic with Down hitting #1 in the US. I loved this song pretty much the moment I heard it and nothing Sean has done since (or before) has come close. Lil Wayne, who I normally hate, adds to the song quite well too oUbpGmR1-QM
  2. 196. Arctic Monkeys // When The Sun Goes Down // January 2006 Being a Sheffield lad and proud I remember the fuss about the Arctic Monkeys around this time very well. Average lads from our own streets were making it in the charts, it was something we'd never seen before and very exciting and we all of course rushed out to buy the album. When The Sun Goes Down was my favourite track on the album by far and as much as I liked I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor I did feel the album was a tad overrated and my excitement about the Arctic Monkeys soon subsided EqkBRVukQmE
  3. 197. Busted // You Said No // May 2003 Maybe it's because I wasn't a 10 year old girl in 2003 but I was never all that into Busted bar the three songs which appear in this countdown. The first of those is "You Said No" which became the boys first #1 in May 03 but peaked at just #14 in my charts. It's appearance here is down to me re-discovering it a few years ago and being won over finally by it JTmRyp6_rWc
  4. 198. Britney Spears // Ooops! I Did It Again // May 2000 Ooops! is a fine pop record and one I was happy to spend my pocket money on that week. I had such a crush on Britney back in 2000; I had posters the lot. Kinda over that now but I do still get a little excited (no, not in that way) whenever she releases new music. As I'm sure every child of the Britney generation does CduA0TULnow
  5. 199. Nelly feat. Kelly Rowland // Dilemma // October 2002 Ah, I'd actually forgotten how much I loved this. First and last appearance for Nelly on this countdown though Rowland has 2 more appearances as a member of Destiny's Child 8WYHDfJDPDc
  6. I've decided to do this now mainly because I'm bored and I just recently stumbled across all my old personal charts (which began in 1999). This Top 200 countdown is based not only on those charts but how often I listen to those songs now to give it some relevance. It's a Top 200 mainly because I initially was only going to be doing a Top 50 but the ended up really enjoying compiling it so made it a Top 200 Pretty broad music taste here and I think this countdown offers a bit of everything from S Club Juniors to Evanescence. Hope you enjoy! 200. Atomic Kitten // If You Come To Me // November 2003 I was a big Kittens fan back in the day, though secretively as I had a hard man reputation to maintain, and I do look back now with slight embarrassment over how much I did like them. Anyway, this was the lead single from their third and last album "Ladies Night". A nice little love song that I don't really see any harm in liking CxSMEPAnWG0

I'm entitled to my own opinion thank you.

Sorry but as much as I love Ellie and her new song she's not got a cat in hell's chance of getting to #1 next week. One Direction should get it, their massive amounts of pre-orders will get it there easily and Rihanna will settle for #2, quite like when Only Girl debuted at #2 behind Cheryl but then moved up the next week. Diamonds will do the same but I don't think it will be as big as Only Girl and We Found Love which is a shame because it's actually a better song

Is it really not out until November?! That's so stupid why do the UK always have to wait longer than the rest of the world
  10. I quite like it to be honest. It's not progressive but it is what it is and if it does get to #1 it certainly won't have been the worst #1 of the year
  11. I did not like the Gorrillaz one bit but it did used to amuse me that all the cool kids at school thought that liking them made them seem a lot more edgy. Dare was a good song mind you. This threads already brought back a lot of high school memories; I was 13 at this point in 2005 though it seems like yesterday I still remember listening to songs in the playground on a portable CD Player. Those were the days
  12. Mario, Ashanti and Razorlight were all favourites of mine back in 2005. I do agree that Ashanti/Cassie/Ciara/Christina Millian/Keri Hilson/Amerie and a lot more could all class as the same artist but Only U is a tune Glad you're doing the second half of the decade as 2005 & 2006 are my favourite years for music in the 00's though to be fair the better tracks were lower down the chart and the #1's and #2's of those years, with a few notable exceptions, do leave a lot to be desired
  13. Some of my favourites that have been forgotten somewhat: Vanessa Amorosi - Absolutely Everybody PbcTClDD-WU Dream - He Loves You Not L9ZSbaCER0w Hilary Duff - So Yesterday lt6PVVr4B04
  14. It's good, not her best, but good Here's how I rank her albums now 1. Funhouse 2. I'm Not Dead 3. Mizzundastood 4. The Truth About Love 5. Try This 6. Can't Take Me Home
  15. I don't want to admit it but Conor Maynard's new track is really quite good I hope it does well
  16. Samantha Mumba: Gotta Tell You #2 Body II Body #5 Always Come Back to Your Love #3 Baby Come On Over #5 Lately #6 I'm Right Here #5 Busted (100% Top 3 record): What I Go To School For #3 Year 3000 #2 You Said No #1 Sleeping With The Light On #3 Crashed the Wedding #1 Who's David? #1 Air Hostess #2 Thunderbirds/3am #1 S Club 7 (100% Top 5 record): Bring It All Back #1 S Club Party #2 Two In a Million/You're My Number One #2 Reach #2 Natural #3 Never Had a Dream Come True #1 Don't Stop Moving #1 Have You Ever #1 You #2 Alive #5 Say Goodbye/Love Aint Gonna Wait For You #2 Five: Slam Dunk (Da Funk) #10 When The Lights Go Out #4 Got The Feeling #3 Everybody Get Up #2 Until The Time is Through #2 If Ya Getting Down #2 Keep On Moving #1 Don't Wanna Let You Go #9 We Will Rock You #1 Let's Dance #1 Closer to Me #4 Also, Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud, Westlife, Steps, S Club Juniors, Geri Halliwell, Billie Piper, The Spice Girls and Ronan Keating all only have 1 single that didn't make the Top 10
  17. Yeah but to be fair she's only released 4 singles the others released a lot more
  18. The Saturdays, Spice Girls, Sugababes, Atomic Kitten, Mis-Teeq, Busted, McFly, Westlife, Blue, S Club 7, S Club 8/Juniors, Steps, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Samantha Mumba, The Wanted, JLS, Cheryl Cole, Boyzone, Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga
  19. My Current Top 50 of the year is as follows (in no particular order) 01. Lana Del Rey - National Anthem 02. Florence & The Machine - Spectrum 03. Alexandra Burke - Let It Go 04. Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back 05. Rita Ora - How We Do (Party) 06. Taio Cruze - Troublemaker 07. Grouplove - Tongue Tied 08. Fun - Some Nights 09. Lawson - Taking Over Me 10. Of Monsters and Men - Little Talks 11. Nicki Minaj - Starships 12. Nicki Minaj - Pound the Alarm 13. Nicki Minaj - Va Va Voom 14. Karmin - Brokenhearted 15. Misha B - Home Run 16. Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans 17. Rihanna - Where Have You Been 18. Cover Drive - Twilight 19. Cover Drive - Sparks 20. Cher Lloyd - Want U Back 21. One Direction - One Thing 22. The Wanted - Chasing the Sun 23. Marina & The Diamonds - Power & Control 24. Jake Owen - Alone with You 25. Jessie J - LaserLight 26. Maroon 5 - One More Night 27. Will.I.Am - This Is Love 28. Loreen - Euphoria 29. Chris Brown - Don't Wake Me Up 30. Flo Rida - Wild Ones 31. Cheryl - Call My Name 32. Maroon 5 - Payphone 33. Marina & The Diamonds - Primadonna 34. Florence & The Machine - No Light, No Light 35. Demi Lovato - Give Your Heart a Break 36. Carrie Underwood - Good Girl 37. Coldplay & Rihanna - Princess of China 38. Emeli Sande - Read All About It, Part III 39. Katy Perry - Part of Me 40. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe 41. Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know 42. Katy Perry - Wide Awake 43. Carly Rae Jepsen - Curiosity 44. Ross Lynch - Better Together 45. Pink - Blow Me (One Last Kiss) 46. Green Day - Oh Love! 47. Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me 48. Green Day - Kill the DJ 49. Kelly Clarkson - Get Up 50. Owl City - Good Time And a lot, lot more this has been my favourite year for music for a good few years
  20. I agonized for a while over the Florence/Marina issue but in the end I knew Florence & The Machine were a band so couldn't include them. If I had Say My Name and Shake It Out would've been in the Top 100
  21. Take It Off, Hollywood, and What The Hell lose their positions in the Top 100 thanks to new entries from Emeli Sande (My Kind of Love); Rihanna (You Da One) and Paloma Faith (Picking Up the Pieces) Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" becomes the 5th single by a female artist to sell over a million this decade but stays at #5 on the countdown. She will most likely over take Rihanna's "Only Girl In the World" in the not too distant future and possibly "Price Tag" by Jessie J as well. Some minor movement in the Top 20 as Nicki Minaj moves up to #11 with Starships and Emeli Sande makes it to #20 with "Next to Me" pushing Jessie J's "Do It Like a Dude" out Cheryl Cole (Call My Name) and Rita Ora (R.I.P) climb into the Top 40 pushing Ellie Goulding (Starry Eyed) and Lady Gaga (Alejandro) out. Next month should also see Tulisa move into the Top 40 with Young which means Pixie Lott will loose her Top 40 position with All About Tonight I'd also expect new entries next month from Loreen (#102 with Euphoria); Rita Ora (#109 with How We Do) and Nicki Minaj (#116 with Pound the Alarm) as well as Pink with One Last Kiss and Taylor Swift with We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Thanks for reading!
  22. Robbie Williams - Angels (#53) Take That - Back for Good (#8) Sugababes - Hole In the Head (#96) Atomic Kitten - The Tide Is High (#42) Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You (#4) Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This (#10) Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not The One (#15)
  23. I think before it peaked at #8 following Amy's death "Back to Black" could've been in the running. It originally peaked at #25 but was around for ages

  25. 85. Jessie J - Who You Are (192,600) Second entry here for the second most sucessfull British female of 2011 and her fourth top ten hit peaking at #8 in December 2011 mostly down to an amazing X Factor performance from Misha B, who to be honest probably sang it better than Jessie does. Jessie's version is OK and Who You Are is the kind of music she should go back to but I can't stand how screechy this becomes towards the end j2WWrupMBAE
