Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory The first of only 2 entries from Lady Gaga, I was a bit dissapointed with 'Born This Way' to be honest - it's not a bad album but she did build it up to be something spectacular and the it was something only a little above average IMO. 'The Edge of Glory' is a great pop song and the closest to any song from The Fame Monster I could find on the album, maybe my disappointment with the era came from my assumption Gaga would stay the same and the era would be the same as The Fame was. White Flag is one of my mum's favourite songs but I can't stand it. Except for the brilliant 'Here With Me' and the sampling of 'Thank You' on Eminem's 'Stan' I really don't care at all for Dido. It is weird how her first 2 albums were massive and then she kind of just dissapeared Never really fussed about the Lemar track either but I did love '50/50' and 'If There's Any Justice' 'Pretty Green Eyes' is awesome though - easily in my top ten dance songs of all-time and probobaly in the 90's of my 100 favourite songs ever

I was 11 years old for most of 2003 (born February 92) and I can tell you that Fast Food Rockers were the biggest thing for kids at that time. Not for me though, I was about to enter 'big school' that September so was obviously too cool for such silly songs I see your points about the S Club songs but I can't bring myself to dislike them. For me those two songs represent a turning point in my life - that being the (beggining of) the end of my childhood. 59. Scouting for Girls - Love How It Hurts I don't know what Scouting for Girls have done to deserve the hate they get from people - I've liked every single one of their singles! Even 'Elvis Aint Dead'. I love this song and found it quite relateable; most of us will have gone through the subject matter at some point in our lives. I hear you say, yes I'm quite preplexed as to how this made it on to my year-end chart. It's from a Disney Channel Movie called "Lemonade Mouth" (which wins the oddest film title of 2011 award) which was aired over the summer. I was lucky to go on 2 summer holidays last year; one with the family and one with my mates. The apartment I stayed in with my family had Sky and my sister was watching Disney quite a lot and this song was played constantly and to my surprise I grew to love it LWGcejbf2gE And because I'm feeling critical today, here are the first 2 entries from my "Worst songs of 2011" list 10. JUSTIN BIEBER - MISTLETOE A worst song list wouldn't be a worst song list without Bieber would it? He released this back in October and my sisters were all over it. It takes a lot for me to call something my least favourite Bieber song ever, this gladly takes the crown. 61. Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough One of the only BEP songs post-Monkey Buisness that I like here. A welcome return to form for them though it's still very different from the kind of music they were releasing between 03 and 06 which is when they were at their best. Not much else to say really but it was nice to know they could still produce good music afte the horriffic "Time (Dirty Bit)" OrTyD7rjBpw 60. Selena Gomez & The Scene - Love You Like a Love Song There's nothing wrong with pop music in my book and this was one of the highlights of pop music in 2011. I knew of Selena Gomez having two younger sisters but had never heard any of her songs other than 'Natural' (which I did like) so I was pleasently surprised when I heard this song. What's more surprising is this song is the 1st song out of 3 Disney related songs in this countdown LupeGtJ3a3E

63. Ke$ha - The Harold Song I'm not typically a Ke$ha fan and all of her other songs seem to involve getting drunk in a club but this is different. It is deffinately the most personal thing I have heard from her, a ballad about losing your true love and suceeds in showing a completely different side to her. Why this wasn't a single over the frankly terrible 'Blow' is frankly beyond me - this has hit written all over it hkS70kPSLNI 62. Avalanche City - Love, Love, Love Ever heard of Avalanche City? Neither had I until I heard this song after a friend suggested this song to me as the video contained penguins (my favourite animals). I know it's a bit late being May and all but I only recently joined Buzzjack. I though I'd give this a shot as 2011 was the year I turned 19, sat my A-level exams, went on one hell of a summer holiday and started uni - a year of turning points really. I'll also be taking little breaks from the countdown to show my least favourite songs of the year, favourite films, television programs and albums. So sit back and enjoy 65. Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You Ed Sheeran was deffinately one of my favourite breakout artists of 2011 so it seems only right we start off with his admittedly weakest single thus far. A favourite of mine back in September this song's title seemed somewhat appropriate as I moved out of my mum and stepdad's and into a flat with two mates. From one of my favourite albums of the year, 'You Need Me' is an in your face track about Sheeran's thoughts on the state of the music industry. Glee Cast - I Feel Pretty/Unpretty Glee is one of my favourite television programmes and though they've done some terrible covers in there time (Somebody To Love by Queen comes to mind here) they're at their best when they do mash ups of songs you wouldn't dream of putting together. I was apprehensive to hear this as TLC are my favourite girlband of all-time and 'Unpretty' is my second favourite song by them (No scrubs is my favourite in case anyone was wondering) however the strong vocals of Michele mix beautifully with Argons's sweeter ones. wVTrgz09qas

Two fantastic songs in a row there and I was thinking that Girls Aloud (along with Sugababes, Coldplay, Snow Patrol and Keane) were one of the best things about British music in the mid 00's

Big Brovaz were truly awful - 02/03 were dark times for British music IMO bar a few exceptions

I love 'Whole Again'. It's cheesy as hell but a song that reminds me a lot of my childhood.

I don't know if he's got a lot better or my music taste has gone severly down hill but this is the second song in a row from Bieber that I actually like! Very good song there quite a nice surprise

All I Have - have to agree with you! Not a fan of the song at all nor am I fond of female/guest rapper songs (bar a few exceptions such as 'Umbrella', 'Hip's Don't Lie' and Livvi Fran's fantastic 'Now I'm That Chick'). JLO also lost it for me between this and 'On The Floor' I'd be pushed to mention a song that she did which I liked ('Get Right' isn't terrible I suppose). Scandalous - Now this is a tune!

Britney Spears - Born To Make You Happy - 29/01/2000 - 1 week @ #1 IWIYnoCjZWc Unlike the Manic's at the time I was VERY into Britney (She was my first ever crush after all) and I absoloutely adored this song and happily spent my some of my spending money on the CD single the week it came out making it the 3rd single I ever bought and I still have it somewhere in our attic no doubt. Now at 19, I'm not as in love with it as I was aged 7 obviously but Britney and ballads have always been a bit hit and miss in my view (My favourite songs of hers are the more uptempo 'Overprotected' and 'You Drive Me Crazy') but this is far from 'I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman' standards. Would I choose to listen to it now? Probobaly not but it's a nice trip down memory lane and deffinately my favourite Brit ballad

Manic Street Preachers - The Masses Against the Classes - 22/01/2000 - 1 week @ #1 2Vi7kCxMBTY I was born in October 1992 making me 7 years old when the millenium began so needless to say the Manic's weren't really my thing at the time but I recall my stepdad Gregg adoring this. In 2012 however, I genuinally like this song but it isn't something I would chose to listen to from choice as is the rest of the output released by the Manic Street Preachers to be totally honest. Like I said, I like it now but I'm not really sure that it's number one material but I suppose it was January and that is when the music industry is coming out of the lucrative Christmas season so fair play to the Preachers - no one else is going to be able to say they were the first #1 of the new millenium and to be honest there's a lot worse that could have started off the decade, centuary and millenium at #1

I have chosen the year 2000 because: a. it was the first year I really got into music, not the charts as such but it was when I began buying CD Singles and there's a lot of songs that will bring back a sense of nostalgia for me b. 2000 has 42 number ones and as I plan to review the #1's of most years I thought it would be best to get through this one quickly Feel free to leave your thoughts on #1's as I go on.
