  1. This continues to be such an interesting watch. At the tine, I feel I was too young to appreciate the difference in class and particularly how that servant task was probably one of the most psychological tests of the entire BB series, to the point where it’s quite harmful and perhaps trying to make a mockery of Jade and her family?? I do remember not understanding why Jack and Jackiet also entered and I’m still don’t understand why now. She might have fared better without them.

The show may have both made and ‘ended’ her career but I still believe that series also killed Big Brother as a show. Of course it was only axed (again) last year but it was never seen in the same light again and turned from the big guilty pleasure mainstream watercooler hit (a la Love Island) to ‘oh, you still watching that?’

It’s interesting to see the reactions from her celeb housemates in her being there in the Celebrity house when you consider that the house become overrun with reality TV stars, particularly in the later days.

  2. I’ve just got Christine & the Queens - Chaleur Humaine (Clear Vinyl) which I’m very happy about. It comes with a CD too but I already have it on CD!

The visuals for Striking Vipers are incredible and does evoke the Tekken etc games and pushes it up a level. It's interesting to explore the relationship between the two leads but, after the build up, it doesn't really lead anywhere or explore the consequences like the show usually would.

Smithereens sort of sums up Series 5 in that the episodes aren't BAD per se but just very very average and not on that level which has made Black Mirror stand out above other shows. I guess that partially may be because the episode feels a few years too late? It's perhaps a concept that has had numerous think pieces and perhaps even TV episodes based on it before. There's no change up in the episode that changes your perspective, it's just social media is bad and we're all addictive, which we already know. I do like the strands of the social media company having more power to do checks etc that the police but nothing is really taken anywhere or explored as much as it could be. Andrew Scott does elevate the episode though.

  10. Whilst I do think this is true for some, it saddens me that many people actually think f*** all will happen and everything will magically be okay despite seemingly us being unable to even negotiate an acceptable deal.

Honestly people don't realise how much of our community and services are run by people with talent from outside of the UK. They can blindly think they are stealing their jobs or whatever but from my experience the UK applicants are largely shite by comparison.

oh I certainly agree, but I feel at least part of the belief that all will be completely fine comes from the fact that they voted for it and therefore they couldn't possibly be wrong
