I think part of that is Emma saving face because I don’t even see her as the frontrunner if it was confirmed to return. I can’t see past Rylan hosting but, even if it wasn’t him, they’d go for Davina or a new face. Emma oddly doesn’t feel like the face of the show. She didn’t seem to enjoy most of the series she presented

Oh no @ Sam, makes me more concerned about support for the follow up single. I guess it still did better than I’d originally expected, I’d never have though it would even reach the A-list.
  3. I like it but I’m a big fan of the Funk Wav ~vibes~ I don’t think it reaches the same highs as the singles from Vol 1 but certainly a nice addition and I’m excited for the rest of the era

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/may/...-cruel-comments This is an interesting and honest interview, addressing how she half checked out of the last era, her concerns about this era underperforming and her overall relationship with the current state of the music industry and anxiety.
  5. I can definitely see TOTP re-runs move to BBC Two. I don’t know the ratings but it seems one of the most popular shows on the channel. Tbh I think most of what BBC Four does now will be what BBC Two does in the future. I think they’ll be less original commissions for BBC Two, a lot of their original content has already moved to BBC One and it seems an easier cost saving measure. CBBC is the least cost effective channel in terms of proportion of spending to viewership so it again seems an easy cut to make but I think it removes a vital service that the BBC provides, particularly in terms of education. This is what happens when certain decisions are taken, some of the more vital and important public services are taken away as they’re not as commercially sustainable in the context of having to make so many cuts. It does seem very awkward in the context of BBC Three returning a few months ago, especially with the dire viewing figures. I wonder if there might be some reversal of decisions along the way, with one of the proposed axed services being saved after public outcry in favour of the axing again of BBC Three. Remember that in the last wave of big cuts, it was 6Music and Asian Network that were going to be axed but both were ultimately saved with 6Music growing and growing and growing.
  6. I think this might be my favourite from them so far!

omg they’re making a UK version as well, hosted by Claudia Winkleman also filming in the Scottish Highlands. The show is essentially Mafia which is iconic - Buzzjack did it first!!1! They won’t match Pting Mafia
  8. Stupid Love was the perfect first single imo, solid carefree pop song that’s easily made for radio but still quite quintessentially Gaga. It’s also more of an easing into the Chromatica sound, I think Alice risks being a bit too much too soon as a first single following Shallow etc.
  9. At the moment, I'm probably the same as Dandy*. I need more listens and time to judge where Dance Fever sits among the rest but I can certainly see it come above Ceremonials and, honestly, maybe even higher. I was quite averse to High as Hope when it was first released but it really hit me over the past year or so, 100 Years in particular. Hunger is amongst her best as well.

The finale of s4 is confirmed to be 2.5 hours long 7 episodes are being released next Friday, with the seventh episode being over 90 minutes. Then the final two episodes are released on 1 July with episode 8 being 90 minutes and episode 9 being 2.5 hours.
  13. I like it more than I was expecting from when she released those three snippets, and it’s certainly better than the nothingy Good Luck, but I think I’d prefer a solo version. It’s nice that 24kGoldn is all over the song rather than it appearing to be substituted in at the last minute but I’m not really a fan and it’s almost as though it’s his song with a Mabel feature.

Rachel Talalay has confirmed she’s directing the 60th anniversary ~thing~ that’s currently being filmed. She directed all the Capaldi finales and regeneration episode, including Heaven Sent. Great to have something return from the Moffat era for a change

Also reminder that anything that’s only confirmed by set photos/leaks should be in spoiler tags

This is what I foresaw as the issue with the 60th special being the first episode of a new era. If you’re doing a special anniversary, it’s essentially a celebration of the show and so there’s clash of interests by introducing a new Doctor at the same time. I don’t think you can do both justice and so I understand why they’d leave launching Ncuti for the actual series.
  19. He needs to do all the promo possible over the next couple of weeks in the hope of stabilising Space Man, in the hope it becomes a genuine hit. I think October is sensible for an album if you’re hoping for an actual long term career as it allows for another single to be pushed. No guarantees as to the response for the second single but releasing an album now risks cementing yourself as a one hit wonder.

omg I think some more news is incoming!!! 🫠 @1525876167118667776 The blue square is now a diamond 🤔 Also RTD commented stating ‘they’re back’ - the symbols or actors???
  23. Yes, it gives them more of a chance to produce a coherent story given how many characters and villains/monsters they’ll be as well as saying goodbye to Jodie, Yaz and Dan. I still don’t hold my breath though  I’ve at least prepared myself that we won’t be getting much development on the Timeless Child storyline given Chibnall’s comments in the Doctor Who Magazine.
  24. THIS IS AMAZING :cheeseblock:
  25. I feel like the hosts are very representative of what the UK would be like if we ever got another chance to host
