Amazon made a straight-to-series two-season order for Homecoming nearly a year ago, amid a very competitive situation. Here’s the logline: Heidi Bergman (Roberts) is a caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life. Walter Cruz (Stephan James) is one of these soldiers, eager to begin the next phase of his life. Overseeing Heidi and the facility is Colin Belfast (Bobby Cannavale), an ambitious company man whose manic demands point to questionable motives.

Four years later, Heidi has started a new life, living with her mother (Sissy Spacek) and working as a small-town waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor (Shea Whigham) comes to her with questions about why she left the Homecoming facility. Heidi begins to realize that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself.

Jeremy Allen White, Alex Karpovsky, Dermot Mulroney, Hong Chau, and Sydney Poitier co-star in the series, with Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Brooke Bloom, Ayden Mayeri and Jacob Pitts recurring. Homecoming was created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg and based on the popular fictional podcast. IT will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the fall.

“Mr. Robot” creator Sam Esmail is onboard to direct all 10 episodes of the first season.

It is Julia Roberts' first TV series in a leading role! Could Amazon Prime have their first BIG hit?

  5. omg the robot twist, the funniest thing they've done in ages and it felt more like a BBCan twist

at the same time though it is incredibly harsh, especially when the first week lasts FOREVER, and it is so easy to nominate/evict the person who essentially they don't really know because they're not really present. Even more cruel that it was for Sam who was my very initial favourite </3 Hopefully Steve can gtfo because he's irritating me already

After hearing that the Hulu boss is wanting TEN SEASONS of The Handmaid’s Tale, it made me question do I quit while I’m ahead or go the whole hog? Beyond the misery, it is a really great series but I do question the logistics of another 8 seasons!

I rarely like to stop watching TV series, I feel as though I need to watch the story play out in full if I have decided to commit to a show. It can often mean I’m stuck watching a series like Rellik where I’m counting down the minutes/episodes because it didn’t live up to the hype I initially had for it. I did learn a tiny lesson as I remember not watching past the first episode of Hard Sun after hearing bad reviews and not being totally enthused by the first episode. However, that’s the only recent show I can think of quitting of the top of my head! I’m even still sticking to The Walking Dead after a love/hate relationship with it (just finished Season 7!)

Sooo how often do you quit watching a series you’ve started?

Do you like to test shows out and continue with ones you’ve enjoyed or do you like to commit to the whole thing every time?

  7. Second season is on Netflix as of last Friday. Seen reviews saying it's both better and worse than the first season but there's still the consistent chimes that 13 episodes is too long. It has lead to the exec to say that you need those quieter calmer moments saying:

"Now, if he's saying every episode needs to be a pop single, he can have that Britney Spears shit. You know? Like, he wants Taylor Swift, Britney Spears. We're trying to make Zeppelin records.

"He's probably the kind of person who thinks that 'Stairway to Heaven' is a waste of time, you know what I'm saying? Like, God forbid that song meanders, especially as it builds to its climax. He's the kind of person who probably wanted to edit 'Bohemian Rhapsody', you know?

"There will be some people who prefer that stretch and then some people who are like, 'You know what, I like pop.' And I get it. It's cool. There's literally a million other things you could be doing, but if you like what we're doing, then I want to give the fans who like what we're doing as much as they can take."

Let's be honest, he's not creating a Bohemian Rhapsody here... Not seen this season yet but, previous ones, could definitely be shorter and still have those slower episodes.

“When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague whose politics stand for everything he despises, Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs. Responsible for her safety, is he actually her biggest threat?”

Keeley Hawes plays Home Secretary Julia Montague. Game of Thrones actor Richard Madden also stars as David Budd, a war veteran and Specialist Protection Officer who is assigned as the politician’s bodyguard. Also starring are Line of Duty’s Gina McKee, Peaky Blinders’ Sophie Rundle, Cucumber’s Vincent Franklin, Stuart Bowman, Nina Toussaint-White and Pippa Haywood.

The six part series is written by Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio and airs on BBC One later this year!

  9. for some reason I took about 8 months to finish the second season but I'm basically watching this series as soon as it is broadcast!

I'm enjoying it a lot more and I think it's because it's a lot more focused. It is sort of the first time it only really has all the characters together in one plot line. There's only really Neska who is separated but her journey is still integral to the main one.

Gave some shocking moments so far and I'm sure the finale will deliver like they usually do!

  10. Had a tiny glimpse (from the person who normally avoids these sorta leaks), saw like 10 seconds of one of the clips just to see what Jodie was like. Also gave a hint at one of the companion's backgrounds :o
  11. I kind of feel that the single campaign is going to be run by Cheat Codes. It sounds bizarre but Syco probably want this to be a middling hit (like Came Here for Love as has been mentioned) just to keep the name out there but not to take all the glory from the proper 5th album campaign.
